He looked at the statue of Zapdos and was amazed, it was actually made of pure gold unlike the exterior of the gym.
The Butler looked at Julian and welcomed him.
Butler "Young man you must be a challenger"
Julian nodded as he saw the old man walking towards him.
The Butler looked at the Zapdos statue and smiled.
Butler "Quite an impressive piece of work isn't it, Old master hired the best Jeweler and Sculpture in Hoenn to make this statue, Old Master really was in love with Zapdos as he once saw it in his childhood and from that day he wanted to become the best electric type trainer in the world"
Julian nodded and appreciated Wattson for sticking to his resolve as most people would abandon it when they face defeat.
Butler "Looks like you don't talk much, well anyway once you walk through that door you will have to solve a puzzle to unlock the electric door blocking the path towards the battlefield"
Julian was surprised by this, he didn't know this thing even existed.
Seeing Julian surprised the Butler explained.
Butler "Even though Old Master is an Eccentric but Kind man he also likes to show off, his Switch-Controlled Dynamos is the best when it comes to security so he likes to show it off to everyone who walks into his gym"

Well, it was like a puzzle where he had to connect the lines so that Point A and Point B can have a current flow with no restriction.
He soon got into it and solved the puzzle after a few seconds.

As soon as he solved the puzzle, the electric layer blocking his path disappeared and revealed a corridor going deeper, Julian continued to walk and after few minutes again found himself in front of an electric door, there were a panel and the same puzzle game but this time it was more complicated.
This time Julian took his time and completed it in one and half a minute, after solving it the electric door disappeared again, he continued to walk and again found himself in front of an electric door and the same puzzle game but more complicated.
Julian took his time again and this time it took him three minutes, the gate disappeared and he continued to walk, he just hoped that he won't have to solve another puzzle, luckily his wish came true and he saw a battlefield in front of him, he was relieved not to see any electric doors in front of him.
He was actually really impressed by this technology, the output of the electricity was very high, if anyone tried to tough it, they would get zapped very hard but it still won't harm them as the electricity would just leave their body and get back to where it came from leaving the one trying to enter with force unconscious.
He walked in and found a huge platform in front of him and on top of it was a fat old man wearing a yellow jumpsuit with a brown shirt on top of it, he had white hair and beard and a big smile stuck on his face.

Julian "It is indeed a really good security system and it won't have any side effect on the unlucky one to experience it as well"

Referee "Both challenger and gym leader will use three pokemons each and only the trainer is allowed to substitute pokemon during the battle, the first to run out of three pokemon loses"
Julian nodded as this was an all-around rule in a gym battle, sometimes the gym leader would change the rule if they want to.
