The lightening strike threw Leones backwards, leaving me and almost everyone else who was watching with jaws hanging. There was woman with a skin tight white body suit. She had a sniper rifle slung over her shoulder, and a spear in hand. She pointed the spear at Leones who looked like he had seen a ghost.
He shakily got back up to his feet, and suddenly there were three cloaked figures around him. They all wore a set of deep red robes that had the heavy scent of human blood. And it made concentrating a little hard for the vampires present here. It was like they painted a hug target on their backs, and were inviting everyone to come attack them. I was standing behind the woman, so all I could see was long silver hair, but electricity sizzled in tiny arcs on her hair, traveling like currents through a live wire.
"Queen! What are you doing here?" Leones asked, as he flipped his spear from his right hand to his left.
"You're to cease your foolish campaign against Kael Cor and his allies immediately. Or face the consequences."
Well that was one way to explain what she was doing here, or not. This two seem to know each other, though I don't know how. But how was it possible that there were vampires this strong in the pit, yet vampires had continuously suffered for years. It did not make any sense to me, and the knowledge left a bad taste in my stomach. I had this instinctive urge telling me; that Queen and Leones was bad news.
"Consequences, please don't make me laugh. Are you going to take on the Order all by yourself? You're strong little sister, but not that strong. You can not stop this revolution, soon enough you and the mistress will understand the true meaning of what we're doing here today." Leones said to her with an even voice.
"Well Leones, I don't know about that. All I know is that I'm here under orders from the mistress, and she said to give you a message. If you touch Kael Cor, or anything or any ally of his, then there would be war. The Dracula has spoken!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Queen slammed her spear on the ground, creating a shockwave of dust and energy that made me shiver. Sounds of static electricity filled the air, and my hair began to rise up of it's own volition, coaxed by the literally charged atmosphere. Leones looked like he had been given a pile of dirt to swallow. What ever it is he was aiming for, he definitely didn't expect it to turn out like this. This guy must really hate me, because right now he was looking at me like I killed his father or something.
"If the Dracula has spoken, then so be it. But she can't protect Kael Cor forever, and she also won't be the only Dracula in the pit in the coming future. Miguel is close and on the cusp or gaining true transcendent vampiric power. A true leader will be born, and when that happens, she either folds and joins, or she dies with the rest of the cockroaches. As for you Kael Cor, you better curb your dreams of conquest. While there's not much I can do to stop you from coming for the green district, the red and white district belongs to the Order. So if you do come be best prepare to die. The only advice I can give you now, is that you should go hide behind those walls of yours, at least that way you can keep your life."
With his piece said, a white fog suddenly blew across the battlefield, obscuring him and his comrades. By the time the fog dissipated, they were long gone. Leaving silently, just like they had arrived. Leones did have quite a lot of things to say, and he seemed to really believe in his propaganda. This entire exchange has been really intense.
"Kael Cor! You are to come with me immediately. My mistress has requested your presence." Queen said with her back still facing me.
"Well thanks but no thanks." I answered back with a rather arrogant tone.
"My brother would have killed you, you're only alive due to the mercy of my mistress. And he would not just have killed you and left, he would have massacred your entire army. You owe my mistress a debt of gratitude if not your entire life, so I don't see why you think you have a choice in accepting whether to respond to her summons or not. Even if I have to break every bone in your body, you'll be coming with me!"
She sounded really stuck up, but I also knew she meant business. She tossed the guy, who tossed me like a rag doll, like he was made of paper. She was dangerous, so maybe being hostile was not a good idea. Besides she was right; whoever this mistress was, it was because of her that I was still alive, and giving thanks are in order, but not now. I had to reason with her.
"I don't mean any disrespect Queen? But we're in the middle of a battle. I can't just leave my people behind to go see someone. Give me a week to get my affairs in order and make sure my people are protected. After that, I'll go see anybody you want me to. You have my word."
She was silent for a while, as if contemplating the validity of what I just said. I saw her tense looking shoulders fall down a bit as she released a deep sigh. She seemed really stressed out about something, but that's not my problem. I just needed her to back off a bit so that I can come up with plans and contingencies in case that Leones comes back, or if this mistress turns out to be just as charming as the elitist who just tried to kill me.
"Very well then, I shall hold you to your word. I'll come fetch you in a week, and you better be ready!"
BRAAKRAAAMM!
Flashy entrances and exits was a thing with all vampires apparently. But with my ears left ringing and my bones creaking in protest about the fact that lightening just struck the ground barely three and half meters away from me; and a woman disappeared. She was just as intense as her supposed brother, though hers was a little subdued. However now that they were both gone, I could finally breath normally.
I've heard of how powerful vampires were in their heyday, and I thought that it was just like what we had, but I was very wrong. Vampires weren't called monsters for nothing. There was something that set Leones and Queen aside from the normal crowd of vampires that I've grown used to. It seemed to me as if those two were stuck in time, like all of the years that passed since the war didn't affect or change them, and they were still the same as the ancient vampires.
There was serious amount of apathy in Leones's eyes. He didn't care if what he was doing was morally wrong or right, only that he believed that it was the right thing to do. The both of them felt so detached, yet so invested that it was hard to get a read on either vampires. It was an eye opening experience, and a very scary one to be honest, but it lit a fire in me, adding to the burning pile of fires already raging in my heart.
I was not going to give up on following the path I've chosen for myself because two ridiculously powerful vampires showed up, and there could possibly be more living somewhere else in the pit. Rather I'll train harder, and fight smarter, so that my ambition of making a world where all vampires; whether you're born, or turned, whether you look human or are a mixture of other races can be accepted openly. And right beside them, were the other races of Shearath. Because the enemy is not ourselves, it's not even in this universe, but out there, back on my original home, the enemy was coming for what made all of this a reality. It was coming for earth.
I turned and made my way amongst the soldiers, talking with a few of them as we gathered our injured and prisoners. It was a hard fought fight, and we all had to give more than was asked from us, some much more than others. It was not the victory we expected, especially now that we know there's someone who could end our lives with a snap of his finger, or that he belonged to a force of vampires just like him if not more powerful. And that somewhere in the pit, there was a Dracula waiting for me. It was an intense experience, but still we won, we did it.....the blue district...….was ours.
