I think I now understand why the ancient vampires were so good and open to aura. The ability to let go of your pain, to forget your hurt and your suffering, and channel it, to let it speak for you was an escape. An escape from pain, from suffering, from life. I thought I knew what pain meant, that beyond a reasonable doubt, I understood that emotion to the core, I very wrong I was, how foolish.
Dust, that's all that was left of sweet little Nisi. She was the first friend I ever made, the first substantial connection I made before my memories came back. She was more than just my friend, she was my sister. And now she was dead, and not just her, Varsessa had also been killed, even more brutally and heart wrenching than Nisi. I've been through this before, but I couldn't help it, this was all my fault. I could have been done with this a long time ago, killed Adein and be free.
If I was so eager to damn the consequences now, then I should have been eager to do it earlier. I should have remembered and even better, I should have killed Adein the very moment I placed that rune in him. And now because of my pride, and my negligence, people I loved have just been killed, dead for good, and without a reasonable doubt. I really am a fool.
Even crazy; Adein was still ferocious, his swung his silver whip left and right, carrying with a force capable of rending flesh from bone, or even breaking bones to dust. Plus this was silver, a metal that was dangerous to vampires. It was death and torture, pain beyond all imagining. I walked towards him, using my sword to deflect his whip as it fell haphazardly around me. That's when Teluna made his move, jumping into the shadow realm and coming up behind Adein, yelling in anger as he thrust his [Lance of Darkness] at Adein's back. But his shout warned Adein of his arrival, prompting the warden to turn and swat Teluna away from his side, like he was nothing more than a air.
He was stronger than I imagined, but it still wouldn't change the outcome of this fight, it would end in the next moment. I teleported to his side at almost the same time as Kodak and Gus. Gus stabbed his dagger through Adein's throat, and my sword came into his body from his back and burst out in his abdomen. Kodak had shoved his entire fist through his chest, Adein's bloody ribs and lungs clutched in his fist.
"No! I can't die, I'm going to be a noble! I won, Hahahaha, I beat you! I know that I beat you!" Adein yelled as he looked at me, his eyes bloodshot with madness as his breathing became slower.
"Yes Adein, you beat me. You won this fight." I said to him, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Then I can die in peace knowing that I beat you. That I took something from you, something you loved." Adein spoke up with a cough.
"Yes, you've taken something from me, you've really broken me today Adein, and I'm going to make sure you pay for it, for all of eternity. You're body is going to die, I'll turn everything about you to ash, and I'm going to find everything you love, everyone you love and turn them to ash too. And you're going to have a front row seat to that show, not your body, but your soul. I'll put you in a personal hell of my own making, and Adein, you're not going to die, over and over and over again. And every time you die, you'll come back, good as new, sane and happy, and then I'll take away your happiness, torture you and kill you again, rinse and repeat, over and over again. You wanted the monster didn't you? You've gotten him."
I released my soul energy, letting it seep into Adein's dying body. Unlike the previous times where I had used my soul energy, there was nothing subtle about what I was doing, my actions we're rough, primal and completely instinctive guided by extreme rage and heartache. I felt and saw his soul, a large mass of dirty yellow light, filled with black spots and lightening like black cracks on its surface. His soul was rapidly diminishing, combining with his spirit as they flower out to become only energy. I didn't let that happen as I sued my soul energy to roughly surround his soul, and then I proceeded to rip it out of his body.
Adein's body twitched and shook, and then fell limp, completely devoid of life. Hovering on my right palm, was his soul, the sum of his entire being. The yellow soul shook and took on the shape of Adein's face, and he looked to be very much aware of his surroundings. We let his body drop to the ground as Teluna, Gus and Kodak gathered around me, looking at his soul.
"What is this? What's happening? What are you going to do to me?"
I had to be honest I was really surprised, I never thought it was possible for a soul to interact with the world like this. I could hear him, and so could everybody around. The gathering had scattered, and a riot had already broken out. Everyone was going wild, as every unsealed vampire in the pit united to attack the guards, many of them might not know Varsessa of even Nisi, but the entire vampire race were united in their grief and anger. I ignored Adein's questions as I sent a message through my crest to Revan and Neva.
"Burn that tower to the ground, and I don't care what or who you see in it. Kill every human, werewolf or elf you see in that tower. Man, woman...….. Everything! Down to the very last ant!"
Usually it went man, woman and children. But I couldn't say that, even with all of the rage and anger, I was still being led by my bloody morality. I never hated having such a character till now, I couldn't have children killed on my orders, and I knew children lived in that tower, after all many of the guards had actually been born here, and grew up here to, having an ancestry that went back generations.
"Understood Master Kael!" I heard Revan's voice reply me.
And not less than ten seconds later, there was a loud explosion. It was so terrible and fearsome that the entire green district shook from the shockwaves created by it. A yellow and orange glow could be seen at the distance, as great plumes of smoke and fire rose up into the sky, the guard tower burning under the advent of a Vampire's rage.
I turned to Adein, and moved his revolting soul to my left hand, then from his very own body, I began to draw out his blood. Every last drop of it, I made sure he was able to every single moment of it. And then I made his blood condense and coalesce into a blood red crystal globe. The crystal was a deep red for a moment, before it became a bit transparent. Then I pushed his soul inside, leaving it within the blood crystal. Then I called on my soul energy again, and began to weave.
This would be the most sophisticated rune circle I would have ever created, and the act was fueled by anger and heartache. First I made the first circle and placed the [HEAL] rune on it, so that the blood crystal would be able to repair itself against any sort of damage, either by a person or time, because I intended to have this crystal exist for a very long time, if not the end of time itself. But the soul rune had another function, and that was to make sure Adein's soul did not dissipate. And then next came the [DREAM] rune, I didn't care what it was that Adein was going to be seeing, all I wanted was for him to experience his worst nightmare, to experience unprecedented horror and torture over and over again, each time more different and more terrible than the last for all of eternity. And as his soul is broken down, over and over again, he would be healed, and the torture will continue. Then I used a simple rune [HARD] to make me the blood crystal stronger than ever. Then I poured every last vestige of soul energy in me into the rune circles, all of it.
I watched as the blue circles spun, and changed. The rune words combined, making a rune phrase that spun in three different circles placed in a ring within each other. They glowed with a sinister scarlet light, and spun around constantly, going from the top of the crystal to the bottom. This was a prison, a literal hell of my own making, and I'm sure to add more runes on that thing later on, because I'm going to make sure He suffers for a long time.
ARGHHHHHHHHH ARRGGGHHHHHHH! NOOOOOOO! PLEEEEAAASSSSSEEEEEEE! MERCY!
His scream rend the air, as he screeched with pain and despair. I really didn't know what it was he was seeing in that crystal, but he deserved every form of torture he got and more. Death was too good for him, and even though he would be tortured for a very long time, it still didn't make it any better. Adein really has won. I looked at Teluna, Kodak and Gus. All three boys looked so broken and lost that I had no ides what to say, so I turned towards the guard tower and said to them.
"you all can mourn and blame me later, but right now; there's a massacre with our name on it."
They looked at me for a moment, before turning their heads to the tower and running towards it. I shifted my head to the side and saw Asha, Xaseah and Kuyait looking at me, with equal grief and heart ache in their eyes, and beyond that was pity. I gave Soren a mental command to take them home, as I used the minor teleportation to head for the tower, ignoring the calls of both Asha and Xaseah.
Monsters have come to the pit, and they have come for blood, and for death!
