When you imagine the apocalypse happening, what do you see. Are there flashes of lightening, rumbles of thunder as the earth quaked beneath your feet and the sky split asunder as the world tore itself to pieces and went to shit. Well imagine that, but along with a heat so intense you could actually feel your skin begin to boil and burn to a crisp, and all the while the cause of for this apocalypse was standing ten feet away and ten meters in the air from me, hands raised to the sky and laughing like an old movie villain, or villainess?
"What the hell are you doing Baeki calm the fuck down. Are you trying to barbecue me, your savior. Come on! It's getting really hot down here!" I shouted as I looked up at her.
I had barely finished talking when I felt myself being hugged tightly, maybe a little to tight as she wrapped her hands around my body and lifted my up from the ground, twirling me around and laughing with such happiness, it was somewhat infectious. She was strong, really strong; but cause even as she held me, I couldn't even twitch any of muscle, much less move a part of my body. It spoke volumes of how power a Dracula could be, and this was just the physical aspect.
Then I felt her shoulders begin to shake as she released deep breaths on my shoulders. Then she put me down, buried her head into my chest and started crying. For a moment I was at a loss, I had no idea how to deal with this, but I knew without a shadow of a doubt, I had to be here for her.
I could not even begin to imagine what being trapped in a single tower for six hundred thousand years had done to her, but I could just be here and be that support she needed to get back on her feet. She was broken and damaged, terribly, and even though she's lived this long, without any proper support, things could get ugly really fast as she tries to get reconnected to the world she's been cut off from for so long.
I stood there for God knows how long, holding her close as she cried her heart out. The heat died down, and so did the earthquake and the rumbling of thunder and flashes of lightening. Eventually her sails faded into tiny sobs until she actually fell asleep standing on my shoulder.
Now let me set something straight, there was nothing between Baeki and me, I care about her, and I felt a connection due to the fact we had similar origins. We've sort of become friends, but let me be honest, this chick is one crazy ass bitch, and I rather not do anything stupid. Besides I'm married, and bonded to two! Women. I knew polygamy was a vampire thing, but it was not mine. Which was why I quickly handed her over to her elders and they took her back into the castle.
She was probably exhausted, and I'm sure she's going to be sleeping for quite a while. She had 600 thousand years of stress to sleep out, and hopefully when she wakes up, she would be a lot more sane and calm than before, and I hoped that was soon. We needed to get a move on, our dragons were waiting.
I took a step back to admire castle Sarang, without a barrier of runes and runes circles sealing it, it looked a lot different. Of course it was still as Gothic and scary as before, but there was an aesthetic beauty to it, it made me want to just stand there and admire the building for a while.
But in the end all good things must come to an end, I didn't have much of an impression on the seals that kept Baeki trapped. Not until the last one anyway, and I realized that in a way life was just like that. There were things, situations and people who would keep you trapped, locked up and desolate, and it becomes impossible to truly experience the world in all it's glory.
Such an existence was beyond painful, but that's the Ming Bae Ki and the vampires have been living for quite a while, and who knows how many others out there. I guess it didn't matter if you were on earth, or on Shearath, people's life would always be shitty.
I got on Soren and just had him run back to the blue district in his lion form. Of course it wasn't as comfortable as the power bike form, but there was a serenity in the chaos of his movements. His body was made completely of metal, but it dated as if it was covered with real skin and fur, and as he ran, I could feel his heart beat, felt a connection to his life force, I could feel life within him.
And as we passed through the other districts, I could see the same thing in the eyes of the other vampires. Of course most of the white district was still on lockdown, and completely in the grasp and control of Shamir and his bloodline purists pals, but that didn't take away the light that just seemed to hang around every corner. There was hope, a reason to not just live, but to live happily and with a purpose. No one was shackled to a mundane existence anymore, any and everything they did now, would only stem from their own choices. They were now the masters of their own fates.
We got to the blue district almost two hours later. Now lions normally aren't marathon runners, they're sprinters, showing great amounts of speed and agility in short bursts. So prolonged running was not really something they did, but Soren was not a normal lion, of course he was made of metal and ran on soul energy, which veritably means that he's got endless stamina. Anyway two hours was quite fast a time for Soren to get us back to the blue district, from the look of things, he's gotten faster and maybe stronger too.
We made our way back to the blue district, passing through a significant amount of workers on the way. They were laying down tracks for railway line, this line would connect the blue district with the free district, and branch into quite a few different sectors. It was mainly for the sake of transporting ores from the mineral mountain to Ethernalia Leonis, but that doesn't mean it could also be used for transportation too.
It was coming along quite nicely, though there was still quite a ways to go, and with the threat of the mountain falling or fading away, I was a little worried about the rate of development. Malek was still working on a way to make the shield stronger, while also simultaneously expanding the city little by little to accommodate the new influx of vampires and members of other races.
It was almost as if we were bound to face one bad crisis after another, especially after we've dealt with another one. Of course the crisis this time was as a result of our own actions, but I don't think anyone of us regretted it, besides it was a welcome change from being the victims of someone else's crisis, rather than being the cause of it ourselves.
I know that sort of logic is flawed, but for now that's what's up. I've warned Bien and Sousa about the incoming change and have had them prepare accordingly. I also asked them to warn the other elders too, I would have just left them to their own devices, just to see how the survive when suddenly the sun is hanging over their burning bodies. But these guys were leaders, which meant there was a lot of innocent people following their leads.
So while I wanted to leave them to their devices, just to see how the fuck they'll survive on their own, I had to consider the amount of lives that would be lost if I chose to do that. So the only petty thing I could do, was have Bien and Sousa warn them instead, rather than them hearing it from me. Of course they'll find out I was the one who discovered this impending crisis, and whether or not they choose to believe it, they'll understand that I could have just left them and their bloody covens to die, and the fact that I didn't tell them myself, would also prove that I was considering it.
I was overly kind, yes! But I was not stupid, and neither would I sit still while my enemies threw dirt in my eye. The leaders of the inferno and Bediako, coven made the stupid decision of sitting back when we needed their help to break the sealing array, of course now it turns out we never needed it in the first place, but I'm going to make sure they pay for making such a decision. What can I say, I'm just that petty.
