Chapter 253

We were made to stand right in the middle of the arena, the soul dragon and the fire dragon stood over us, looking regal, strong and powerful. And very much intimidating, their very presence seemed to command obedience and respect, and it was quite funny that I; both Baeki and me, were now masters of both dragons.
The soul dragon opened his mouth, and I could see a dark blue flame, that seemed to be tinged with flecks of gold and lightening like streaks of black and whit that seemed to moved all around said flame. Baeki was standing behind me, and I had no idea what sort of flames her dragon had, but I could feel the heat, and it was so intense I could actually feel my hair getting singed.
The soul dragon's flames did not have or felt like fire. It was neither hot, nor cold, but I could feel it's familiarity, the composition of this flame was something I could recognize even in my sleep. Soul energy. And a rather potent one at that, something that I'm sure I'll never be able to create or match up to, not unless I reach the very peak of power soul energy has to offer. So in a nutshell, the flames of the soul dragon, could be described as soul flames.
"You're journey has been hard, though short it had also been long. Your journey has been long, though painful it has also been true. You are you, yet not, you're broken yet unborn. Step into the light that is your destiny, step into the duty that is your royalty. You who would be called King, You who has been born King. I give my name, I give my body, I give my power, and I give my soul. The Origin Soul Dragon; Adamas bids you Master...…..Awaken!"
With every word the soul dragon had spoken, the pressure in the air got heavier, and I could vaguely hear the fire dragon repeating similar words, with only slight differences in some areas. Every cell that made up my body tingled in response to his words, to the power they somehow seemed to evoke. And when he finished speaking, after giving his name, there was an explosion as the flames in his mouth, bathed my entire frame, and everything went white.
I couldn't see anything but memories, everything that I've had to go through in both my lives. My broken home on earth, my lonely childhood on Shearath, the death of Rhea's parents when she was only just a baby, and my 'noble' crusade against the discriminatory treatment of the vampires. I remember my power, the first time I summoned the twin lions from the celestial plane, a skill that I've not even gotten around to using ever since I became a vampire. I remember using both lions in my attempt to save Asha, I remember how distrustful of me she was, how she hated what and who I was, a human noble.
And then I remember falling in love, to any other person it would have just been a sixteen year old kid, having a crush on an older lady, but if we had to be technical, it was a 44 year old man, finally realizing and discovering love for himself. And then for a moment my family was complete, I had Rhea, I had Asha, I had Asare and the other generals of the pride.

And then we got married, and the world went mad with anger, we were torn apart, even at the moment when she had my children in her womb. She was used against me, and I was turned. And for some reason, everything went blank, all that I was, or would have been, was lost. And someone new was born.
I was immature, a joker, and everything I spoke or said, was in one way or another connected to my old life on earth, as names, analogies and slangs from it, bled into my current reality. And then said reality got ugly really fast, and I had to sit up, and fight, and grow, and learn. And then finally Jason and Kael became one, and everything made sense to me, I found the balance that I so desperately needed at the time.
And after that, everything was one up hill battle after another, one enemy after another. And most of the time, I was only able to escape by the skin of my teeth, and other times, like with Nisi and Varsessa, I had lost people who were important to me, people who I loved and cared for. But I still had to push on, for the sake of everyone who believed in me, and were willing to die for that belief.
And so the sealing Array was broken, and my children were born. With all of my trials and triumphs, my ups and down, it seems it has finally come full circle to this moment. One chapter of my life had ended, and I was about to step into the next one, a chapter that would probably be the most important one of all, as it decides not just the fate of the people I love, but the fate of my enemies, and the people they love, and the fate of trillions of lives, even more than that.
Everything about Lord Kael of house Cor had to be let go from this moment on, there would be a change, a complete rebirth of who I was. I could no longer just be the lord of the house of Cor, and the blue district. Or the heir to a multi planetary business corporation. No, that guys dies here today, and the person who leaves this place, the person who I'll become....That's entirely up to me, this time I could make that choice regardless of the responsibilities that have been thrust upon my shoulder. So to know or see who I'll eventually become, I guess I'll have to find out once this is over.

When I opened my eyes, I was looking up the wooden ceiling of the pavilion where I had fought against the sea serpent. I looked over at the lake, and saw that it's body was still floating on the lake, and it was currently being tested on by two miniature dragons the size of an eagle. I recognized them almost immediately as the soul and fire dragons, though now, they were less than a tenth of the previous size.
The next thing I noticed, was the sheer amount of dragons that surrounded the pavilion, they filled the air, the ground, in between the trees in the forest, and even in the lake too. I was so shocked and dumbfounded by the entire thing, that I was left gaping at them. Such a sight was magnificent, scary, bone chilling and beautiful at the same time.
"If you don't close your mouth, I'm afraid you're going to catch a fly. Though I'm not sure there a flies in the realm of the dragon kings, though I think that might change soon enough based on what I've been told."
I turned my head at the voice, and there was Baeki, dressed in an elegant and almost transparent white gown, with golden trims and highlights. She had her feet in the water, and was caressing a baby dragon, as it snuggled deeper into her arms, letting out contented whimpers as it's grey scales seemed to light up in response to it's mood. Baeki had her feet in the water, and I could see that it was boiling from the point where her legs were in it.
I turned my gaze from her scantily clad form, after all, of you see no evil, you do no evil. And I'm not sure her husband would appreciate his wife being so scantily dressed like this and sitting this close to me. Based on what I've seen, he seems like a very hard man. Though it was at this point I also noticed I was dressed in a similar manner as Baeki, I guess my clothes got burnt during the process of my Awakening.
"Say Kael, do you know that this realm is capable of expanding, and growing, becoming a world all on its own?" Baeki asked me suddenly.
"No Baeki, I don't." I answered her, as I also sat on the edge of the pavilion, dipping my feet into waters of the lake below.
"Ember, that's the fire dragon's name for your information. Anyway she told me that the real of the dragon kings is a machine, well something of the sort anyway, as it is equal parts magic and mechanical. It has the ability to assimilate any part of the real world that has been mapped by it's unique marker, which is to say, we can bring the entirety of not just the pit, but the vampire's old lands and kingdoms here, completely safe and cut off from the influence of the council of light and Shearath on it's own.
Of course they could still come here and wage war, this realm exist in between the fabric of not just reality and dimensions, but also in between the layers of the seven universes. It's like a hub, a central station that's connected to every plane of existence. It has entrances everywhere, so just about anybody can stumble into it. And said entrances won't be able to close, until all the kings and queens are back here.
But there's something really nifty about this place. Any creature, as long as it has the blood of a dragon, can find it's way here, this place is the birth place of dragons Kael. The moment the first human on earth had an idea or belief of what and who a dragon could be, they were born here. The good, the bad, and the ugly. But currently the realm is weak, and small. So we have to make it bigger, and that's what we're going to do, you and I. As soon as we leave this place, we're going to map every square inch of the pit, and also open that damn gate in the black district, that would lead us back into the vampire's land of old, and we're also going to bring that damn place here. And once that's done, you have to help me find my husband and my son.
I want nothing more than to just go look for them, but there's work to be done here, so I'll wait and make sure our people are safe, and ready for the disaster that's coming. I've realized that we're bigger than the petty squabbles and politics of the bloodline council and the Council of light. We have to stop dealing with the small fries, and focus on what's to come. For both our children's sakes."
"I understand Baeki, I promise, I'll do my best to get you back your family. Everything's going to be okay." I said to her, given her as much support as she needed.
"Thank you Kael." Then she got up, and still cradling the now sleeping baby dragon in her arms, she made her way to the shore, across the sodden walkway that has actually been fixed. Wish that was done before that sea serpent beat the shit out of me. But before she got off the walkway, she turned to me and said.
"It would be best if you checked your system, everything's changed now." She then continued on, walking towards a dragon I suspected was the mother of the baby in her arms. I furrowed my eyebrows and did as she asked.

But still, all my sword skills, my soul skills! Damn it!
