Chapter 360

It's been a rather rough two weeks, especially for my children, but they'll pull through, I trust them enough to do so. Anyway they would be starting school in about a week, apparently during the time when I was in a coma, Kodak had retired, and along with his wife and sisters, had built an academy in honor of his mother and Nisi. It was funny, but true; the Golden Guardian as he's now known had traded his Warhammer for a pen and a classroom, and now on the eve of my departure, heading to war, I had to give something to him.

"Asha knew about this didn't she?" I asked him with my arms folded. "She didn't tell you, I guess she wanted it to be just as much of a surprise to the children as it is to you. After all it's not everyday you get to have a clone that's basically a watered down version of you, but you're capable of controlling from anywhere in the universe. This is the greatest achievement in alchemical science and biological magic, it's amazing and it gives my school the new teachers it desperately needs, and it gives you a chance to not just teach and be close to your children, but also to rule your kingdom whilst fighting a war to keep it safe." Kodak explained to me as he ran a hand through his beard.

"I doubt it's that simple." I said to him.
"Well what's complicated about it, I just need you to create a clone for me, and then have said clone teach a bunch of school kids including yours how to be warriors."

I really didn't want to argue with Kodak, in a way he does have a point and everything seems rather simple. Besides I don't even know why I'm arguing this much, I love my children, and if there's a chance for me to be close to them even though I'm quite far away, then without a doubt I'll do it. Because this was war we're heading in to, and I have no idea when me, Asha and Xaseah would be back. "Fine! I'll do it. But you better be sure about this Kodak, nothing can go wrong, if it does then I guarantee you, that I'm going to kick you ass. So let's get it over with, I have dinner with my family today, and I don't want to be late."

XxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxX XxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxX At first there was this awkward silence, and it was made even more awkward by Cassiel who spent her entire time glaring at me. Michael on the other hand just seemed really focused on his food, the blue bandages around his eyes glowing with suppressive and control runes that I had personally etched. A lot of things were happening here, Cassiel was without a doubt angry that her mother were leaving for war, and since they were going with me, this was also my fault.

I really had no idea how to get through to this girl, she should know that her mothers hold all the power in our relationship, I can't force them to do something they don't want to do, or in this case stop them from doing something they want to do. It's one of the great woes of being a man married to two powerful women, you really lose all the power. "You guys shouldn't be so gloomy, your mothers would only be gone for at least four months. I won't let them spend and longer on the battlefield, and I'll send them right back to you guys all safe and sound." I said to both children, hoping it would lighten the mood. I expected Asha and Xaseah to help, but they were more than willing to just sit back and let me suffer this alone, if I didn't know better I would say they're training me, for what exactly I'm not really sure.

"Is that supposed to make me feel better? Even if mother Asha leaves all the time, Mom Xaseah is always around. Now you came and they're both leaving! Why are you al...….."
"what about you? Are you coming back?" Michael spoke up cutting Cassiel off.

"Hey! I'm still talking! You shouldn't do..."
"Grow the fuck up Cassie! All you do is whine and complain and then bitch and moan about a father and mothers that have nothing but love your pathetic, self centered selfish ass!"

Well things have gotten sour real fast, and to be honest I was really frustrated because I couldn't seem to understand Michael and what he wants, or even connect with Cassiel. I've not even started yet, and I'm failing as a father, and their mothers were all to willing to sit this one out. I need to figure out a way to solve this problem before it escalates into something else. "Michael I won't be around, well sort of anyway. As soon as you resume school there should be a surprise for the both of you, however let's do it this way. If you both stay at the top of your classes and grades, once you have a holiday we'll take you both off world, in fact we'll take you right to the warfront!"

"What!" "What!"

"Ehhh!"
"Seriously!"

Now I think I might have done something really wrong. Both Xaseah and Asha were glaring at me, whilst Cassie had a star struck look in her eyes, and Mike without a doubt seemed very excited about the entire thing. And to be honest, the fact that I was able to get them on the same page and willing to try out an idea of mine left me so excited that I totally ignored the warning signs coming off Asha and Xaseah. "It would be like bring your kids to work day, you guys can finally see you old man in action, maybe you can even fight! Granted you're both strong enough by then. What do you guys think, it's a great idea right?" I asked them with an accomplished smile on my face.

"Yes that's so cool!!"
"Awesome!!"

Yep I'm the best dad in the world, and my kids loved me. Maybe I should buy them each a warship, or maybe teach them how to craft a nuclear core with magic. "No! And No! Husband has being asleep for 13 years killed every cell in your brain. You want to bring our twelve your old children! To a warfront where the most powerful of our enemies are gathered! Are you trying to destroy your own legacy before they even have a chance to grow and achieve something. I will not have it, we both won't, figure something out." Xaseah said to me, while Asha glared at me without saying a word.

I might have gotten carried away, but look at their faces! I can't disappoint them, but I also can't mess with their mothers. What to do, what to do? I needed a way to keep the busy and not too mindful of mine and their mothers absence. Something that can actually cater to the tastes while also creating a sense of union between the two of them. "Okay this Is what we'll do. You can't go to the front lines, you're only twelve, but I see you two want to prove yourselves, so let's do it this way. I need you both to create a warband, the best warband that dominates the war-games, however you must not neglect your studies as the grades deal still stands. Then in two years, your powerful warband will be chosen to head to Transylvania on an expedition! You're to conquer as much of it as you can in under a year, in fact I'll talk to Kodak, it would be a school activity, and also a war-game activity. The best Warband gets to be their own squad and joins the front lines in the battle against the gods and the Toroth."

I didn't know it then, but I had sparked a fuse I was most definitely going to regret setting on. The idea was to keep them busy long enough that their mothers and I can come up with an excuse that would keep them safe. Transylvania was just me dangling a carrot in front of them, and their mothers knew it. [If they find out you tricked them, they're both going to skin you alive, slowly.] Asha said to me through our bond whilst Xaseah ran her hands from one side of her throat to the next. I felt like I had made a mistake, but before I could even correct it, the mistake got bigger.

"Michael, I'm going to create a warband more powerful than anything you've ever seen or heard, not even your special eyes can keep you safe from the power I would wield." Cassiel said to Michael as she got up with great exuberance and pointed at her brother. Michael on the other hand just quietly shoved his dinner into his mouth, with a rather creepy and sinister smirk on his face. Then he said to his sister.

"Then I guess it's a bet, very well then sister let's see what you got, and believe me when I tell you. This time.....I'm actually going to try, and you of all people know, I've never failed once I decide to try. See you on the battlefield Dragon Princess."
I had chills, I felt as if hell just froze over and my blood with it. Cassiel did not seem as affected by Michael's downright villainous attitude and tone, but his mothers and me felt it. And it shook me greatly, such malevolence and malice reminded me of someone all to familiar to me, and even as I looked at Michael and saw that darkness breeding in his eyes, I knew without a shadow of a doubt; that i put it there.
