The night was dark and moonless, all the lights were out. Yet it didn't affect Shu Yidan, as his eyes flashed with an unearthly light flying upon the violet blade.

Far above the forests, he was lonely in his path. However, he couldn't help but feel that he was being watched by someone.

But whoever the watcher was, he didn't dare do more than observe him.

Shu Yidan could see through the veiling darkness of the night. His body seemed to be covered by an eight-colored light which was acting like a compass, allowing him to fly unhindered on his path.

That's right, there were no hinderances. No loose cultivators, no beasts, no ghosts - nothing that would like to get in the way of a cultivator heading home.

Shu Yidan had indulged in sexual intercourse and thus, his Yang energy was prominent. Many ghosts should be eying him.

Furthermore on a moonless night like this, Yin Creatures like certain beasts and ghosts were strengthened. But no matter how much of a boost they would gain, battling a Golden Core was a hopeless prospect.

Just when he was thinking that he might get to home base without incident, he suddenly found himself facing a violet fireball.

"Seal." One word and one gesture, and the fireball disappeared. Revealing the existence that dared face him.

It was a large dark-phantom giant. Countless flames ran on its figure, burning into runes upon its body. Flying on air without using an artifact, it was a mighty creature formed of grudges and violence. Shu Yidan could feel the resentment and grudges of a battlefield emit from it.

"Ten Thousand Grudges Demonic Ghost, huh… That's on the level of a Divine Transformation cultivator." Shu Yidan looked the burning black eyes of the monster.

After death, the remaining resentment and grudges of a person can coalesce into a ghost. Such an existence can only be considered the remnant of a soul, and is incapable of harming even a mortal. But after some years pass by, the ghost can absorb spiritual energy and gain enough strength to hurt mortals and swallow their souls.

Such a ghost is called a Demonic Ghost – a One Grudge Demonic Ghost. It is on the level of Qi Refining cultivators.

The number corresponded to the number of souls swallowed by the Demonic Ghost.

One Grudge, Ten Grudges, Hundred Grudges, Thousand Grudges and Ten Thousand Grudges – Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Divine Transformation!

"This damned existence… how many souls have you swallowed, how many hopes of reincarnation have you cut off? Tonight, I shall enforce justice on behalf of Heaven and save the souls in accordance to Samsara!" Saying these grand lines, Shu Yidan flicked his fingers and a rain of seals flew upon the monster.

The monster roared, breathing out another fireball of dark energy. The seals bypassed the fireball and struck down on the monster. Automatically sealing the fiery runes on the ghost, it cut off the mana that caused the phenomenon of fire.

The monster suddenly stopped burning, it was like a chicken with its feathers pulled. The beast only gazed at Shu Yidan in confusion before it fell.

Shu Yidan couldn't help but sigh. Strong as it was, it was still a beast. All it had was instincts. The lesser ghosts had their instincts remind them that Shu Yidan wasn't an existence to be provoked while this beast only knew that his mana was enough to crush Shu Yidan in a blink.

But humans had myriads of methods, the Great Dao was boundless. Shu Yidan ended up crushing it in a blink.

The Six Samsaras had Three Paths for the Good – Gods, Humans and Asuras and Three Paths for the Evil – Hungry Ghosts, Animals and Hell.

Even with the peak power capable of battling Divine Transformation cultivators, this Demonic Ghost was incapable of sapience and thought. It couldn't amount to anything facing a Golden Core – perhaps even a mortal might be capable of outmaneuvering it with luck.

"Let's get this done quickly, I want to get started with the Asura Path already…" Saying this in a soft tone, Shu Yidan descended after the falling Demonic Ghost.

The Asura Path that required rivers of blood to flow. Naturally, this beast that was born from resentment and grudges was a treasure for him!

"I have to seal it first. After that, I'll need to send off the poor souls that form that beast back to Samsara. Since they are being saved by me, they would have the good fate of being reincarnated as humans once more…" As a man who enjoyed such a good fate, Shu Yidan could only sigh.

The green forests were silent – everything capable of sound had fled away. Only the angry roars of the beast echoed.

"Namo Amitabha Tathagatha…

…Let go of hatred, cut off your emotions…

…Dust to dust, ash to ash…"

Shu Yidan couldn't help but sigh – as expected, some chants weren't enough to calm the resentment of 10,000 grudging spirits. He had gone through about 12 different scriptures – Heart Sutra, White Lotus Mantra, Heart Severing Scripture, The Holy Bible… Nothing worked.

Naturally, the ghost was a damned Divine Transformation level existence. It would be too easy if it disappeared just like that.

But Shu Yidan really didn't want to use more destructive methods. If he used spells to destroy the monster, the souls would be permanently shattered, cut off from the cycle of reincarnation.

….And not in the good way.

The Buddhist methods Shu Yidan could use were useless. The only other method for redeeming souls were miscellaneous tricks – precisely the fist techniques that he taught Xiahou Shangyue earlier.

But there was no other option. He couldn't take any other option, he couldn't leave these grudging spirits without salvation.

"…So be it. I will beat the resentment out of our spirits with my fists, and send you off to Samsara with pure souls! Prepare yourself!" Looking at the giant ghost formed of resentment, Shu Yidan cocked his fist.
