The skeleton town

1

Solum is a town without vibrant.

There was a two floored building that seemed to be trading houses, but the edge of the stone stairs was chipped.

Half of its wooden door is broken as well.

On top of that, clouds of dust whirled up every time wind blows.

Hiroto and Souichirou are walking in this Hybride Kingdom’s remote town with their hands tied up.

It is at the edge of the edge of the state of Sarabria, and several kilometers across that village were the territory of atrocious races.

The two boys were walking between the knights.

The one leading the way was the skeleton that saved Hiroto and Souichirou.

There were only women who gathered in the stone-paved square.

They lined up in front of a well and drew water from it in turns.

“It isn’t fixed yet?”

The soldier who walked in front of Hiroto complained while looking at the trading house.

“They’d probably fix it in a rush.”

“They’ll just be coming and returning instantly. Both the Lord and his house steward are crazy.”

Hiroto looked around the square.

Two skeletons passed through the square while talking friendlily with each other.

Four men who were full of bandages were carrying a huge bag with wheat inside.

(Wa?! What was that right now?! Are they injured or something?)

Even so, they were really full of bandages.

I tried to take a closer look, but they entered a street from the square so I can’t see them anymore.

The reality of being thrown into a different world is finally catching up to me.

It is strange that we could communicate with our words, but it is probably just like that.

Even so, this town doesn’t feel very developed.

Hiroto thought so.

The trading house cannot even be called as a proper building as praise.

The square was also full of dust.

It would not be like this with prosperous towns.

I’m pretty sure this place is rustic scene even within the Hybride Kingdom.

It’s probably useless even if they met with influential people and asked for help after explaining the situation.

Hiroto looked at the women near the well.

They more than thirty years old.

Their shapes were……every one of them was skinny.

There was not even one fat woman.

Hiroto remembered about the story that fat people are treated as rich people in Africa.

Normal people are not able to eat enough food, so many of them are skinny.

However, they think that rich people are taking enough nutrients, so they will become fat.

The women looked at Hiroto and the others’ procession.

They took a glance, then continued their conversations.

Hiroto was surprised not by the skinniness of the women, but their lack of reaction.

For the people of this world, walking skeletons might be a natural thing.

(Interesting.)

Hiroto became a little excited.

This’s exactly a cross-cultural experience.

There’s nothing more fun having a completely different pace than the normal, natural things.

But, it looks like it was different for Souichirou.

“What a humiliation…… aren’t we like prisoners like this.”

Souichirou complained.

He was unable to organize his emotions just by complaining and,

“Hey! Untie me!”

He shouted.

The knight turned around.

“Can’t do that. It’d be troublesome if you were to run away.”

“Are you planning on making us slaves?!”

Souichirou glared at the knight.

“You’re going to be soldiers.”

“We’re high school students you know?!”

The two knights stopped.

They looked at each other’s faces.

“What’s he saying?”

“He’s Difrente after all. Probably used words from a world unknown to us.”

Towards those two who talked to each other,

“Don’t get convinced by yourselves! What the heck is Difrente!”

Souichirou shouted.

“What happened?”

The skeleton made his horse come near.

“Hiii!”, Souichirou jumped back while he screamed like that.

His skull had a dark hollow inside.

A pea-sized green ball of light could be seen from his eye socket.

“This guy, it seems like he has complains.”

Towards the knight’s answer,

“Anyone would complain if they’re forcefully taken from a different world.”

When the skeleton said that and faced him, Souichirou startled.

The skeleton kicked his horse lightly.

The horse advanced, and Hiroto and Souichirou followed.

“Damn it……why am I……”

Souichirou grumbled.

Hiroto raised his face.

A spire peeked from behind the two floored building.

The two boys’ destination was the Solum Castle.
