At night, Su Lian lays on her bed staring at the phone in her hands with a huge smile on her face.
She is looking at pictures that she took with her son at the zoo earlier on.
Her phone starts ringing and it is Chris calling. She answers it while wondering why he would suddenly call her on a saturday night.
"Lian, sorry to disturb you." A light, yet affirmative voice comes through from the other end.
"It's not a problem, is there something wrong?"
"No, nothing serious. I need you to come to the office tomorrow, there are somethings that the board wishes to discuss."
Tomorrow!?
Tomorrow is a Sunday. A day for her to laze around and watch movies with her baby. They both really look forward to spending Sundays together and she hates disappointing him. He already doesn't have a father in his life and she doesn't want him to lack anything else.
"Well, I will make sure to be there." Su Lian forces the words out of her mouth and tries her best to conceal the frustration in her voice.
The call ends and Su Yichen walks inside wearing a pair of red race car pajamas with his tiny fingers clutching a light blue blanket. He jumps on the bed and makes himself comfortable right beside his mother.
"Are you sleeping here today baby?"
Su Lian asks while rubbing his head, which has become a new habit for her. Yichen nods slightly in confirmation.
"Well I thought you wanted to be a big boy, big boys don't sleep with their mommies."
He stares at her silently, his beautiful eyes showing traces of complication.
They were bright green with golden specks around the irises, just like hers. Bright green eyes were the only feature her son had gotten from her. Everything else came from his father, he was like an adorable, little version of him.
"Tonight I'll be a little boy."
Su Yichen manages to say after thinking for a while.
Su Lian laughs hysterically at her son's compromise while he buries himself in her embrace. He moves around a little until he finds a comfortable sleeping position.
She strokes his little head while gazing at him full of love and soon after, they both fall asleep.

"Yuan ge." A high pitched voice rings from the side.
A woman wearing a tight fitting, short red dress approaches a handsome young man and beautiful young woman who are standing together. The moment the two walked in, they had attracted everyone's attention.
The stunning pair are the Han siblings, Lili and Yuan. They are at a charity event hosted by Wang Industries. Han Yuan was adamant in his decision to not bring a date. Their helpless mother could only have Lili accompany him.
Han Lili was feeling depressed. Not only does she have to spend a whole evening with the 'iceberg', she also has to be on the lookout for any potential wives for him.
"I'm glad brother Yuan and sister Lili could make it." The woman clad in a mini red dress says flashing her overly white teeth.
Her hair was dyed light brown and put in pigtails to give her a 'youthful' look which is quite frightening considering her age a provocative style of dressing.
She has heavy makeup on and smells like a mixture of strongly scented perfumes. Her dress has a large dip in the chest area, going so deep almost revealing her nipples.
No one would dare comment on how she looked. She was the only daughter of the owner of Wang Industries, unreasonable and spoiled to the core.
Not only did she have lots of influence despite her bearing, she also had several suitors. Whoever married her would own the Wang Industries by default.
"Yuan ge, I haven't seen you in so long, did you miss your little sister Zhi'er?" She asks in a squeaky, childish voice.
Han Lili almost gagged.
'Little sister, she and Yuan were practically the same age!'
Wang Zhi will turn thirty-two this year and has rejected all men that approached her for her hand in marriage.
She says will only marry Han Yuan, who she claims is the love of her life.
She had met him while she was still in high school during a dinner her father had brought her to. He took her breath away and she has been obsessed ever since.
Despite her claiming that her heart belongs to Han Yuan, her body did not. Wang Zhi has a history of being promiscuous and fooling around with younger boys. While most of them were willing, to be with her and obtain benefits, some of them were forced. They came from ordinary homes and did not dare offend the Wang family.
Han Lili wrinkles her face in disgust, even though they were anxious to marry off the 'iceberg', they were not that desperate. No one could pressure them into it.
Although the Wang Industries was big, it was not big enough to rival the Han Group.
