--- Tournament Area, The Arena ---

Thousands of spectators or participants who are still waiting for their respective events to happen immediately filled the outer ring. As for Jay, he squeezed through the crowd together with the other participants of the Sword Fight event.

"Hey, don't push me kid!"

"Scram kid!"

"I'm moving alright! Stop pushing!"

A lot of people complained as Jay and the rest of the participants pushed their way through the crowd in order to reach the central area.

...

On the central area of the arena, Prince Frederick and a few other nobles were currently awaiting the participants of the Sword Fight before they start talking.

When Jay and the rest of the participants arrived, Prince Frederick spoke up while using a spell to amplify his voice so that everyone can hear him.

"Welcome, participants of the Sword Fight. Welcome, spectators of this grand event. I am Prince Frederick, the son of Queen Auburn, and the future king of Greengarden! Before we officially start the Sword Fight, let us first listen to what this event is all about." After the prince told this to everyone, he clapped his hands and suddenly, a huge tree on the northern side of the outer ring appeared. The huge tree's top part was cut off and a long benches and some tables were placed on it.

After that appeared, the prince and the rest of the nobles except one of them walked away from the central area and moved towards the huge tree to probably sit down and relax.

...

The noble who was left to explain the things about to happen with the Sword Fight event was Lord Marvin. Not wasting any more time, he started speaking in the same manner as the prince so that everyone can hear him.

"Good morning to the thousands of participants. The Sword Fight is divided into three parts. The Novice Fight, Expert Fight, and the Victor's Fight. The participants must work their way up until the last part, the Victor's Fight, in order to become the champion of the Sword Fight event. And how to work your way up there? Simple. The participants will have to fight each other in a 1v1 format and must only use their sword skills to win. In order to move on to the next part, the participant must achieve a 10 winning streak. Those who will lose a fight can pack up and leave the arena. That is all. Participants, please look at your respective tokens carefully. The moment it vibrates and glows red, it means it is your time to fight."

After this long explanation, Lord Marvin went towards were the rest of the nobles were seated and the tournament master from before, the chubby guy, went towards the central area and shouted.

"Let the Sword Fights begin!"

...

The spectators cheered as they finally get to watch their favorite knights fight each other. There were even different guilds who were watching, just like Soaring Skies and White Fang, who's attention was currently locked onto Jay.

"Observe anything strange from him." Graxton, the berserker from White Fang said to his guild mates as he started drinking from a barrel of mead.

...

One after another, the participants went all out and clashed the moment the tournament master called out their names and gestured them to start fighting.

Some already had a winning streak of 3. Some already lost miserably and left in shame. As for Jay, he was still waiting for his turn impatiently.

"Come on... Let me fight already!" Jay muttered to himself. Then the Chicken Lord suddenly spoke up.

"Jay, why don't you let me handle this? Let me show you another set of skills I will teach you in the future. Skills related to the use of weapons."

When Jay heard this, he did not argue with the Chicken Lord and let him take control of his body. The moment that happened, Jay's tournament token vibrated and glowed in red.

"Next. Jay Castle versus Sir Caulfield."

'Jay' went forward to the stage and saw a huge and muscular knight wearing a rusty set of iron armor.

"I am fighting this sissy? Get back to your mother! Pui!" The large knight said angrily as he thought Jay was just here to play around. But he was wrong...

The moment the tournament master signaled them to start, 'Jay' immediately took out the black colored longsword, Night Sky and rushed towards the knight really fast. 'Jay' moved so fast that he looked like a blur. And the moment he stopped moving, he was already at the back of the large knight and blood was flowing down his sword.

"Impossible..." The knight said softly as he collapsed to the ground and lost consciousness. The moment he did, one of his arms got slashed off and rolled towards the feet of the tournament master.

"He killed somebody!"

"Aaaaahh!!!"

Shouts from the participants boomed throughout the arena.

Other participants immediately offered help to the fallen knight and discovered that he was still alive. The moment everyone saw this, they calmed down a bit but started to get wary of Jay.

"Just one slash and he defeated him. That poor knight did not even had a chance to pull out his sword from its sheath..." Prince Frederick muttered to himself while having a shocked expression as he signaled the tournament master to continue with the event.

"Winner. Jay Castle. Next!"

Jay went back to the sides and waited for his next turn. While he was waiting for his turn, he shouted at the Chicken Lord for almost getting him disqualified.

"What the hell was that? I'm lucky that the poor guy survived, if he died, then I might have been disqualified and had to spend a week in prison!"

Jay thought the Chicken Lord would make up some fake story to cover up what he did, but it did not go as he thought it would.

"Well, its entirely not my fault. The moment when your longsword got close to the knight, it suddenly flew out from my grasp and if I hadn't stopped it, that guy might have lost his head instead of his arm. Jay, I think that longsword of yours is cursed or is possessed by an unknown soul. You should probably practice with other swords first before attempting to use it."

When Jay heard the Chicken Lord's explanation, he was surprised since when he looked at Night Sky, he did not saw any traces of any curse on it. The only explanation was it was possessed by an unknown soul.

"I see. So that's why the dwarf said it depends on me if I can use it's full power or not..." After thinking for a while, Jay decided to set Night Sky aside and just use another sword he got from Grayrock's Blacksmith.

The sword he picked was a bit large, in other words, a greatsword. It is meant to be held by both hands due to its size and weight. The greatsword he chose was made out of 'Tempered Coldsteel,' a rare type of material that has the elemental properties of ice. As for how it looked like, it looked like an ordinary greatsword. The only difference was the coldness of the blade due to the material used.

"Next! Jay Castle versus Lord Craig."

Jay immediately went forward and let the Chicken Lord do all of the hard work again. As for his opponent this time, it was a nobleman wearing a lightweight version of the usual steel armor that knights used.

"Oh, we finally cross paths 'Balls Crusher.' I did not expect an opportunity for me to exact revenge for my brothers came at this point in time. But relax, I will make sure you will suffer the way you made them suffer." Lord Craig, the man Jay was fighting, kept on talking and talking. And for some reason, most of the spectators cheered for him.

But sadly for him, the moment the tournament master signaled them to begin, he ended up the same as the knight from before. He got finished off with one slash from 'Jay.' But this time, there were no serious injuries since 'Jay' just slashed off the poor guy's armor and stripped him naked.

"Aaaahhh!!! How could you! You will pay for this!" Lord Craig shouted while feeling embarrassed since everything was exposed, including his 'junior brother.'

"Winner. Jay Castle. Next! (What the f**k is this kid doing? Is he planning to win this tournament through his perverted antics?)" The tournament master said and thought as he looked at Jay with a demeaning gaze.

...

"Chicken Lord? Just what do you plan on doing? At first, you accidentally chop off a man's arm. Now, you undressed a man in front of thousands of people... So I suppose the next thing you will do is something more extreme right?" Jay said to the Chicken Lord as he felt the cold and furious gazes of the people around him.

"Well, its not entirely my fault again. His armor was too light and I underestimated the power of the greatsword. Didn't you see how his entire armor set fell off just from that diagonal slash I did?" The Chicken Lord said in a complaining tone as he felt that the opponents were too weak.

"Why don't you just sit back and relax for the rest of the tournament? I feel like hundreds of people already started planning on how to get back at me, or even worse, assassinate me."

...

On the outer ring of the arena

*Cough, cough...

Crimson Lotus felt like somebody was talking about her and felt a weird premonition as she continued to watch Jay.

"Hehehe... Just enjoy your final moments in this tournament. I will make sure you suffer the same fate you made us go through. I will make sure you won't escape this time." While Crimson Lotus was muttering to herself like a crazy person, she unintentionally caught the attention of nearby spectators who also hated Jay or wanted to steal the rewards he got from the Melee tournament.

"Hey there. You plan on messing with that kid after this? Want to team up with us?" A random person asked her.

"Sure. The more there is, the better. (Hahaha!!! Come on, I cannot wait any longer!)" Crimson Lotus said as she licked her lips and had an evil expression on her face.

...

As time went by and the number of participants keep on decreasing, Jay kept on winning fights by only using a single slash.

But the last opponent Jay had to face before moving on to the Expert Fight caused him a bit of a problem.

"Next! Jay Castle versus Chief Warrior Morris!"
