The redness of that place was ocdrwhming that it reflected on the faces of everyone present making them look terrifyingly evil. From the walls to the floor and roof everything was red and even the furnishings were red. The red curtains made of fine linen danced to the tunes of the hot wind that blew in that place. The place that was in the centre of a volcano clearly was hot as the owner of the place, the God of Fire.
"That mortal is getting more and more powerful and why isn't our Emperor getting rid of her? It is not like there is no one else to kill Old Rong!", ZhuRong spoke in a bitter tone to the half table . She felt like she's being cheated because a human is being coddled this much by the heavens.
" The Great Fire God is right! ", one said and others seconded him.
" What could we do? We cannot interfere in human affairs and certainly not hers",a senior God in there chimed in, "The Great Wind God is guarding her like a mother hen. He even put his mark on her. Isn't she married to some human? Why is she being protected by the God of Wind then? He was never that lecherous, was he? "
"Well, well...! What do we have here?", an azure dragon appeared who then transformed into a beautiful goddess, "Plotting against the will of Heavens secretly?", Goddess Mazu landed on the marble floor of the palace of the Godess of fire where they were holding the meeting.
"Great God of Water, we wouldn't dare! We were just here to play and have fun and not to plot against our Emperor!", the other low level gods bowed their heads and spoke in a worried tone. The last thing they need is the Heavenly Emperor to think they are plotting against him.
" I didn't know you were invited ", Zhu Rong snorted and pored herself a cup of wine.
" Well, I wanted to see what my dear sister is doing... Can I not worry about you?", Mazu smiled and pulled herself a chair to sit.
"You are not my sister! And since when do you care for me?", ZhuRong was pissed.
Seeing those two great gods starting their banter, the other gods took their leave. These two gods obviously have a thing for the Great God of Wind and their meetings never end well for those around them.
" We are twins... But since we have opposing attributes we repulse each other...!", Mazu elegantly sat in the chair opposite to Zhu Rong and looked around and sighed, "Why is your taste this bad?This place is already hot and you make it feel much hotter by making everything red. Have a splash of colour, Zhu Rong... It'll look aesthetically pleasing! See here you could.... "
"Why are you here?", Zhu Rong didn't want to discuss interior design with the one she shared a womb with. She never comes here without a reason.
"I know that you are plotting against that mortal, but don't!", Mazu had a threatening tone as she froze everything around and half of the hall looked blue because of the crystallised ice. "Now this is comfortable!", she smiled gently as if she was not threatening a moment before resuming her cool, seductive voice.
"Get out!", Zhu Rong waved and the ice in the room started to melt, "What is that to you? Are you trying to pander Fei Lian by trying to protect that mortal? ", her chest was heaving up and down in anger.
"You really are just hot headed... Now listen to me. I saw Fei Lian on the way here and he was informed that you are plotting against that mortal. I diverted him and he left reluctantly. If you continue this, he will surely hate you. Also if we try to hurt that mortal we will be considered rebelling against our Emperor as he himself had chosen her. So let's not do that", Mazu explained in a gentle tone.
Zhu Rong found her words reasonable. They cannot do anything openly to hurt that mortal who had seduced Fei Lian enough for him to consider granting her wish to be with another human and still decided to watch over her from a distance.
He did the same thing with that woman who looked like her too and her son was protected by Fei Lian too. Now this one is from the same tree and Fei Lian started to coddle her a lot even from her childhood. This cannot be let to continue.
