Lianlian couldn't breath as he remembered what he heard as a child. With his father being sick for years, he thought his father might pass away first but contrary to his beliefs, it was his mother.

And after his mother's passing, he thought his father won't hold on to his life anymore, but he took care of himself pretty well till now. He was devastated to realise it was all because his father was waiting for the day of their mother's death anniversary.

"Father!" Lianlian squatted beside his father and looked at him pleadingly, "Can you not go?"

Please father, we don't want to lose you too.

Chenglei chuckled seeing his forty year old son, acting like he used to act when he was a child. He knew this son, who was named after the Tianshi Emperor is actually the reincarnation of that Emperor too. His wife might have thought she kept that secret but that poor girl can never hide anything from him and slipped it up one night when she was half-asleep. She was terrible at keeping secrets from him. She even told him a week before she passed away that Lianlian and Mizuki are her ancestors. She was always a silly little kitten who never can scheme or trick him.

Chenglei was a bit ambivalent about that fact but later he found that who his son was in the previous incarnation is irrelevant.

'Even if it is, I'm the one who bedded the Prince of Heavens and made her the mother of the reincarnation of the Tianshi Emperor. Aren't I the most powerful one?'

Lianlian is more attached to him than his mother. Chenglei knew that the Tianshi Emperor was more attached to his mother since his father never cared for him and only cared for his mother. He was close with Fei Lian since he missed the father figure in his life.

'Maybe that's why he is more attached to me this life?'

"Son," Chenglei looked at his son and a smile crept up unknowingly. He has the same eyes as his wife. How would be ever able to dismiss him?

" It's your mother's death anniversary. Of course everyone should be there. You should too. Now go prepare," he sent him away. He didn't expect that his son had heard the promise he made a long time ago and thought he was casually asking.

And so all of them left for the West and they reached the Jin Manor three days before the anniversary. Little Yu and her mother-in-law, the Empress of Fire Kingdom arrived in a ship too. Of all the children, she was the one who couldn't attend the funeral and so she came bringing along her husband and children.

Their father seemed normal the next couple of days and Lianlian even thought he might have worried unnecessarily.

Chenglei, who was keeping himself alive till then, couldn't even sleep the night before of the anniversary out of excitement.

His wife said that she suffered a great deal when he forgot her and left her for three years.

And he thought, 'how bad it would have been? She knew I was alive and she could hear news about me. So why was she worried? Silly!'

But now this past year he lived without her completely changed his perception. She knew he was alive and well. She knew he was doing fine, without her. But she couldn't meet him or talk with him without being suspicious. That feeling of abandonment would have been too terrible.

Now, he knew she is dead and she cannot return to him and only he can go to her and that thought kind of gives a closure to him. But she didn't have that closure. She really did suffer a lot and no wonder she wanted him to taste a part of the sorrow she felt those days.

My moon! I'm coming!

Early morning, he dressed himself in red and ran to the cave she was buried. He couldn't wait to be with her. Even the servants were waking up just then and they were surprised seeing their Master running towards the tomb this early.

His heart beat erratically and his entire body hurt as he climbed the stairs to the tomb, especially his left hand and chest.

Holding his chest, he pushed through as sweat dropped from his face. At last he reached the cave and he went and sat beside the coffin that was made to hold the two of them. His breathing was highly irregular and the pain got severe, he clenched his jaw, looking at the floor.

"My moon," he said panting and suddenly he felt a soothing presence in front of him. He looked up and all his pain went away and in his face was a wide grin,

"You are here, Xing," he looked at the girl in front of him, looking just same as the day he met her on the rooftop. She looked just like she did when she was seventeen. She was not wearing male attires but a royal blue silk dress and her hair was black as obsidian and her eyes were gold. Similar yet different.

"You made me wait for an year, dummy," she grinned and there was a blush forming in her face as she smiled. And her eyes were filled with tears.

"Haha," he chuckled, "Leave it to the wife to find fault in everything her man does."

'Here I am, grieving for her an entire year when she only wanted to grieve a week and there she is, complaining I made her wait..... Women!'

"Haha," she laughed back and held her hand out. "At least it won't be inconvenient for our children to pay respects to us each year"

"Xing, " he looked at her out stretched hand and smiled at her, holding his hand out.

"My Prince," she held his hand and he saw his hand became firm and strong as it once was. He felt light and great.

'Did I turn young too? Whatever! I finally joined my wife.'

Meanwhile,

Feifei was the one who tried to get his father, in the morning, to pay respect to their mother and he was informed that he already left to the tomb.

Feifei informed Lianlian and Lianlian felt like a thunder struck him and ran towards the tomb, followed by Feifei and their children. The women increased the pace of their wall too.

"Hah!" Lianlian shouted as tears dropped down his face and he knelt on the floor.

His father was leaning on his mother's coffin and with a smile in his face, he has passed away.

The necessary arrangements were made and their father was buried as a Prince, beside his mother.

A month of mourning was announced and most of his friends were sad Chenglei left but they weren't that surprised that he left the same day as Xing.

Their children were all devastated but they all had a slight relief too. Their father looked pitiful the past year. Maybe it is better for him to rest with their mother.

Lianlian wasn't thinking that way. Huffing and puffing with anger, he entered his courtyard after the funeral and his wife realising he was angry, poured him some water to drink.

" It's not enough she died, she took my father too.... " he shook his knees as he was sitting on the chair.

Mizuki noticed her husband is mad at his mother for some reason. He really gets silly at times. How old is he to blame his mother? But it is her duty to calm him down or he will carry this anger to bed and it will not be good for his health. She who spent the last days of her father with him, guessed this will happen and she was of mixed emotions.

"They really lived for each other. Will they be able to live alone? Any one of them? ," Mizuki sat beside her husband and placed her hand on his knee and he stopped shaking his knee. She knew he was always jealous of his mother for monopolising his father. He felt like his father didn't share the same love he had for his wife towards his children. It is true but isn't that how it is supposed to be? Her poor husband is that way without him realising that too. He really gets petty at times. What is he going to gain getting mad at his dead mother?

"Mother treated herself as a slave for father who was always a King in her eyes and he in turn treated her like a queen. Him too... We all know nothing happened against mother's wishes in this Manor since Father was a slave to her wishes. Isn't that a beautiful dynamic in their relationship..? Both of them treated themselves as a slave and in turn got respected as a Lord by the other. No one was above the other and both were equals. She left the decision about outside issues to him and he left the issues of the Manor with her and both trusted each other enough to not question each other's decision and faced the troubles together without blaming each other, " she took a deep breath and there was a gentle smile in her face that calmed Lianlian down.

She is right!

" You know what? " Mizuki leaned on Lian Lian's shoulders and he held her hand. His wife is the best.

" Mother said that it was not easy for them to get together. She didn't say much but her expression seemed like they had gone through a lot before marrying each other. Also, just like us, they had known each other from when she was six. And they had faced a lot of adversaries together. Isn't it normal for them to be as close as they are? They did all their duties as parents. You know how some... Most parents in the city are... Aren't our parents the best? I know mother was the best mother since I have talked with other daughter-in-laws. Father too. I am glad that she was my mother-in-law and I can say without betraying my heart that my mother-in-law took better care of me than my own mother. If I love her this much, how much more would have your father loved her? So, just stop being jealous of your mother. You just seem petty," she playfully slapped his hand and Lianlian looked at her with a pout and kissed her cheek.

No matter what... Mother still monopolised father.... But, I guess it is acceptable since I love my wife more than my children too.

His parents might not have noticed the way they acted towards each other but everyone else did. Right till the end, they had their own separate space where no one else is allowed. That should be some other kind of love. More like an obsession even if one can be lenient in describing their love. But both were happy with the way they loved.

And they didn't forget their responsibilities either and that's the best part of their relationship. Both of them shared each others burdens and helped each other, shared everything - Happiness and sorrow alike.

There were a lot of people they loved and cared for and they returned their love too. When there was an enemy, both of them stood in the front, holding hands and protected the family from danger. They are the best parents one could get.

They raised their children with care not letting anyone hurt them. They taught them good things and raised them to be respectful. Trey didn't want their children fight for inheritance and carefully split everything between them so that no one can feel they were left out.

They did everything right.

As for their political life, there was no one who could oppose them and they held the same power the Emperor had. They were gracious to the poor, ruthless towards traitors and loyal to those who were loyal to them. There were a lot he had learnt from them.

All in all, there was no one like them.

Time passed and the Jin Manor in the West became a possession of the family head of the Lu Family and the mountains became the burial ground of their family members.

The pavilion over the cliff, still stood tall but no one went there since beneath the pavilion was the grave of their ancestors.

Lianlian built a temple for both god of wind and god of water in the pavilion as advised by the Priestess as she gained divine order from the gods themselves. Apparently they wanted to be present there and guard the Li family for generations.

Lianlian obliged so that even the future generations will not step over his parent's grave and also for those gods to protect their family. Although he didn't understand why those two gods wanted a temple together guarding the grave of his parents.

Generations passed and one was replaced by the next. The Li family's fame didn't dwindle. There were always a mighty warrior and a wise scholar in the Li family. There were many families who tried to bring their family down but all of them failed.

True to the 'Li' in their name, their family always flowed steadily like a stream, cutting rocks who opposed them and nurturing those around them.

Protected by the two gods, the Li family flourished. And those who supported flourished too. The Lu family, never forgot the benefits they gained from the Li family and stayed as an ally and both families were together with brotherly love even though no one knew of their relationships.

As for the only lovers who passed the 'Trials of Love', there were talks in the Heavenly realm that one of those two, wanted them both to become stars together but was rejected by the Heavenly Emperor.

But everyone knew of her 'patience' and 'perseverence'. Both of them stayed with the god of wind and god of water, alternatively even though the Heavenly Emperor frowned stating their laws.

But that one didn't bother and the other one just followed his wife. Every one knew she will win in the end. It is a matter of time. Time, she had.

There were various bets going on as other gods placed bets on how long it will take for the Heavenly Emperor to cave to the wishes of the one who is supposed to be their Prince. But she still refused to take on the role and she was still considered a mortal.

And so with her arrival once again, the Heavenly Realm got lively too. The one who spread happiness and changes wherever she went, made the immortals happy too.

But she never let go of her husband's hands and wandered around like she owned the Heavens.

"It won't be far for the one with a 'star' in her name actually becoming a star, " the god of fate told the god of Marriage.

"After everything you did to separate them..., " she snorted.

"Yeah, I failed...," the god of fate agreed.

His only failure.

And the one who changed fates being selfish and arrogant, still stayed the same even after her death and she was happy with her husband... Here too.

And he.... He just let her be however she wanted to, like always.

My wife is entitled to!
