In the middle of the road, a large carriage meant for merchants was traveling the wilderness with no bodyguards anywhere to be seen— an odd and rarely seen occasion— especially for merchants.

The carriage was made of wood, covered in white sheets. However, these white sheets had a particular design, painted with red dots, as though blood splattered all over these white sheets.

In addition, the closer one would get to the carriage, the more obvious the red dots looked like dried-up blood splatters to that person.

The driver of that carriage, a middle-aged man, casually opened his mouth to talk as he steered the reins on the two horses in the front that pulled the carriage.

"Esteemed Daoist, if you do not mind me asking, do you belong to a Sect? If so, which one? To have a disciple as talented as yourself, the Elders must be smiling from ear to ear even in their sleep."

The middle-aged man was talking to a figure clad in full black inside the carriage, a sword in that person's grasp.

The figure in black robes seemed to be asleep, but if the middle-aged man knew any better, that figure was definitely awake.

The middle-aged man waited for an answer from the figure that never came.

He smiled bitterly.

"Then what about your cultivation base? To kill all those bandits as easy as cutting cabbages, you must surely be an expert with a high cultivation!"

The middle-aged man did not give up on trying to befriend the figure clad in black, someone who offered to protect his merchandise in exchange for a ride.

Although skeptical at the figure's credibility at first, the middle-aged himself was a cultivation expert, and he didn't need to pay the figure for protection fees, something he'd avoid by traveling alone, so he didn't really care.

However, a few hours ago when they encountered a group of bandits, the skill and efficiency the figure showed when cutting down the bandits left the middle-aged man baffled, shocked even, throwing all of his doubts and skepticism out of the window.

"Despite looking like this, I am a Cultivator at the Spirit Realm— a Heavenly Spirit Stage expert!" The middle-aged man said as he patted his chest.

There are many titles in the world of cultivation, but at the end of the day, there are only 6 Realms that are officially recognized by the world, each Realm having their own stages.

The middle-aged man who called himself a Cultivator at the Spirit Realm was only a Cultivator at the first Realm, the lowest and weakest of all 6 Realm.

Cultivators at the Spirit Realm have 4 stages that they have to Breakthrough in order to ascend to the next Realm— the Immortal Realm.

And the Spirit Realm was subdivided into these four stages— Mortal Spirit, Profound Spirit, Heavenly Spirit, and finally, Spirit Ascension— or in other words, Low Spirit Stage, Middle Spirit stage, Advance Spirit Stage, and finally, Peak of Spirit stage.

The middle-aged man continued trying to strike a conversation with the figure clad in black, but alas, the figure in black did not have the same in mind.

The middle-aged man finally gave up and shrugged his shoulders. As confident as he was in his own cultivation base, he knew the difference between himself and the figure in black, and they were just worlds apart.

And not wishing to offend such an expert who was willingly going to protect his merchandise, he decided to stop.

The middle-aged man focused on the road, and many hours passed in silence.

And for another half a day, the carriage traveled the wilderness without coming to a stop.

"Hm?"

The middle-aged man suddenly narrowed his eyes on the road, where two small figure could be seen in the distance.

"Two children? There's even one who looks to be only 10 years old?" He was baffled to see two defenseless-looking children casually walking this road well-known for its high appearance rate for bandits, as though they were taking a stroll in the park.

What the hell are they doing all the way out here? Where are their bodyguards? What about their parents?

"There is a 1,000 miles distance between the Qing Shan City and the Soaring Sun City when traveling on this path… Do they really plan on walking this distance and expect not to get attacked at least once by the bandits?"

The middle-aged man's mumble made the figure in black turn to look at the road.

There was two figure in the distance— one tall and one short— both in identical-looking white robes.

The taller one seemed to be around 18 years old, and the shorter one seemed to only be around 10 years old.

Perhaps they were siblings, but that does not answer the question in both the figure in black and the middle-aged man's question.

What the hell are they doing on this road meant for merchants, and how are they still very clean-looking, as though they did not encounter any difficulties?

Hell, even the middle-aged man had a few holes in his robes from the bandit attack just a day ago!

"They seem to be heading to Soaring Sun City, but Shan Qing City is 700 miles… going the opposite path!"

The middle-aged man was baffled and puzzled at the same time.

This Merchant's Road was without any divided path, meaning one can only go from one place to the other between the Qing Shan City and the Soaring Sun City.

And not to mention this Merchant's Road was right in-between the wilderness as a separation between two forests where countless beasts roamed.

How the two sibling-looking figures managed to walk this far in the Merchant's Road where both bandits and beasts could appear at any given time and still looked as though nothing happened baffled the middle-aged man speechless.

Maybe they were actually Cultivators in disguise with a high-enough cultivation base to travel this Merchant's Road without dangers, but that was doubtful since the middle-aged man could not sense any Spirit Qi coming from these two siblings, meaning they were most likely mortals.

"How in the world…"

The middle-aged man unconsciously sped up the carriage speed, his heart filled with curiosity.
