The massive amount of damage hung in the air momentarily while the world stood still, then suddenly Daguel let loose a final wail of despair before his head exploded into a cloud of black smoke followed by his arms then legs and finally his torso.
At exactly the moment Daguel completely disappeared the hundreds of toxic zombies atop Salvatore's raft and floating in the water nearby instantly followed the dramatic exit of their master and also disintegrates into clouds of black smoke which quickly faded into nothingness.
Having leapt back towards the raft the moment he had landed his final critical attack, Salvatore softly landed upon one of the only untouched parts of his raft in time to see Daguel's last moments.
Unfortunately despite defeating Daguel, with no remains left for him to extract a spark from nor any items having dropped there were no spoils of war for him to collect save the pitiful amount of experience he had gained for defeating him.
Worst of all his massive raft had taken a serious beating and was now mostly destroyed having dozens of melted holes giving it a similar appearance to a piece of Swiss cheese.
Fortunately after examining the raft he found an area of several logs which had only superficial damage. Cutting free the intact logs with a casual swipe of his hand, he quickly pushed away from the rapidly dissolving remains of his former mighty vessel with a new oar he had made from a half melted log and head towards the edge of the roaring falls.
Skillfully maneuvering around the dozens of swirling turbulent currents and whirlpools whilst avoiding numerous semi-submerged jagged rocks, Salvatore steadily circumvented the massive curtain of water as he approached the sheer face of the grey mountain wall.
