Chapter 138 – Revelation II

Mia paid 7,500 diamonds as the monthly subscription fee for everyone and logged out from the game. Upon opening his eyes again, he found himself inside his game capsule.

He returned to his grandmother's spaceship after a long gaming session.

"I'm so tired."

Even though Mia had not worked much in-game, he was still mentally exhausted. He exited the capsule and lay down on his bed nearby.

Ten minutes later, his grandmother entered his room with Sasha and Natalie's soulless body following her.

"Alright, green banana. I think you've already regained some of your psionic skills by now. You can return their soul to their body."

Mia stared at his grandmother with widen eyes. He could not believe what he was hearing.

His grandmother knew about his psionic abilities?

"Huh?"

"Don't feint ignorant. I'm old enough and have seen more than you could have imagined. I've obtained the data from the past experiment, so I know about those fairy overlords and their inheritance ritual."

"Eh?"

"Don't make me use my psionic possession on you and drag their soul to their real body myself, Mia. I meant, the other Mia. You can stop sleeping inside your master's statue and send them where they belong. Sasha and Natalie are safe now."

"EHHH!?"

"Stop screaming, green banana! Fetch my other son from your mind space."

Banana Mia was at a loss. He was confused and surprised that his grandmother knew everything about himself.

"Since when … how did you know all of this? I thought nobody knew about my complication and the other personality."

Grandmother Min grinned, "My soul fragments are sentient. Ever since I injected my memories into your brain, I injected a portion of my soul fragments in your mind space to observe your condition. Well, simply put, I can see everything inside your white room as long as you and I are next to each other like this. Heck, I can tell that you're a mini-me. It feels weird to conceive a new soul by combining both my grandchild's soul and my soul, though. Well, in a way, I'm your mother, and Mia is your father. Nice to meet you, daughter."

"WHATTT!?"

"Stop screaming, or I'll degrade you from a green banana to a stupid mandrake. Now, fetch me my grandson."

"…"

In Mia's mind space, Maou had been listening to their conversation from the beginning. To avoid further complication, he pulled Misha into her statue and reclaimed his body.

"I'm back, grandma. Sorry for the trouble."

Hearing the deep voice from Mia, Uriel Min nodded in acknowledgment that her real grandson was here.

"Welcome back, Mia. Since when had you regained your consciousness?"

"About a week ago in-game, perhaps. An idiot tried to brainwash the other me with a pre-coded psionic language, but it got Tama instead. Then, Tama woke me up by flashing the psionic language into my brain."

*Mew* (They didn't get me. I'm immune to all mental attack!)

Mia chuckled, "As she said."Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.

Min frowned, "I don't understand cat's language, Mia. Translate it for me."

"She said she is immune to all psyche attack."

"Oh, impressive kitty."

*Meh-Heh Mew!* (Of course. I'm a cool kitty! Wait, I'm a kitty?)

Min returned to the subject, "What happened after that?"

Mia recounted all events he had been through after he had awakened without hiding anything. Since he trusted his grandmother, there was no point keeping a secret.

Mia also told her about the events during the experiment, which included Misha Statue, the memories of fairy overlords, and their struggle.

For three hours, Min listened to Mia's narration without blinking.

"So, you lost control of your body because the statue overtook it?"

Min's face grimaced and paled.

Noticing his grandmother's complexion, Mia sensed that something was wrong. It was not her health issue, but Min might have known something that Mia and others did not know.

"Grandma, please tell us about fairy overlords and their race. Why did Gabriel attack them? What are they trying to achieve by using that stupid experiment?"

Min bit her lower lips and looked into Mia's eyes, hesitated to confess her secrets.

In the end, grandmother Min leaked a portion of what she knew.

"Do you know how fairy overlords reproduce or multiply?"

"Didn't they lay eggs? Some of their memories showed me that they laid eggs."

"That's not the only way of their multiplying process. You have inherited their statue. Did you notice something odd about their reaction, soul, or appearance?"

"They hid a dormant soul in a statue, and the statue inherit their appearance? Ah, I think the other me subconsciously created the in-game avatar based on her previous human form. Is it relate to this?"

"Your game avatar has nothing to do with this, Mia. The statue is not just a decoration. It is … a trail."

"A trial?"

Mia recalled that when he met with Misha for the first time, she represented herself as a judge. After he killed a few black slimes, her attitude toward him changed into a comrade, then a mentor.

Uriel Min continued, "Fairy overlords are not a peace-loving creature, Mia. First, these fairies are cunning foxes. They never share their memory and experience with anyone or anything. What you experienced was their fabricated memory that they created to fool you."

"What!?"

All girls and Banana Mia inside his mind-space were shocked as well. However, Lana looked indifferent as she learned about this from her father, Gabriel. Meanwhile, Maple's face distorted.

"Whenever a fairy overlord faces danger, they can break their soul into small fragments, and each retains their consciousness. They scattered into their blood cells, waiting for other creatures to drink or eat their remaining corpse. Once something has eaten it, it will possess the consumer's body and slowly transform them into a fairy overlord, back to their previous appearance."

Min gazed at Mia with a frown, "You and the others drank their blood, Mia."

Mia and everyone were in disbelief. This version of revelation was different from what they learned from their mentor's teaching and memory.

As Mia had faith in his grandmother, he believed that Min told him the truth. Meanwhile, all girls were conflicted because they could not accept this version of reality.

On the other hand, Maple revealed a sign of anger. She hid her trembling hands behind her back, glaring at Min on the image inside Mia's mind space. Then, she turned to Misha Statue, pondering something by herself.

"Then, why did they teach other girls and me about psychic powers and psionic abilities? They even encouraged us to keep devouring the statue and their soul!"

"As I said, Mia. It's a trial."

"A trial?"

"It's the natural selection process whether you have the potential to be stronger than them, or they are stronger than you. I told you that fairy overlords are cunning, right? They have conned you with a double-layered scheme. First, they will tempt you with skills, power, and knowledge. Should you consume all pieces of their statue and soul, you will inherit everything that they have learned. However, they did not die. They will merge with your soul, and they will slowly eat away your consciousness and conscience. After a year, your existence will be no more, and you'll be replaced with their real soul. Everything that your body has learned will be theirs, along with your body."

"WHAT!?"

"On the second scenario, should you be a softie and refuse to devour their statue, it will influence you to feed them with soul fragments. It will give you hints that they are still alive and give you hope that you can revive them. Once they regain enough power, they will imprison your soul inside the statue and devour you from the inside. Meanwhile, they will govern your body, just like how it overtook yours a few years ago."

"!!!"

Everyone in Mia's mind space was speechless, including Misha inside the statue. Right now, everyone kept their distance from her in fear and wary.

Banana Mia, or Misha, shook her head in disbelief. Although she did not know about the fairy overlord, she was smart enough to deduce that her real identity connected to the origin of Misha Statue.

If what grandmother Min said were true, then she would be Mia's enemy!

Tears dripped from the statue's eyes, [No, I'm not your enemy, Maou! Grandma! I'm not the wicked fairies!]

Maou clenched his fists as he heard Misha's plea, 'I know! I trust you, Banana!'

[T-Thank you!]

Frustrated and confused, Mia stared at his grandmother, "How did you know about all of this? I don't think that MWG had this data when I had gone berserk."

Min looked sad. She shook her head, "You're not ready for the cruel truth. You're too weak, Mia. Get your current level and combat class higher than this. Until you can gung-ho an entire fleet of spaceships with you and your super robot, I can't tell you."

Mia felt like he was hit with karma. Maou had done the same to Misha by not telling her that she was a reincarnation of his benefactor. And now, his grandmother refused to tell him her secret.

Fortunately, Maou could relate that Min was worried about him. Though he wanted to know the truth, Mia acknowledged his grandmother's suggestion.

"Okay. I won't dwell into your privacy. Just tell me what I have to do next."

Grandmother Min revealed a radiant smile, "Thanks, Mia. For now, send Sasha and Natalie soul into their body. Also, I want you to kill their statue and let the two girls absorb them all. As for the hidden soul of the fairies, I'll take care of them."

Sasha and Natalie collapsed on their knee upon hearing that Mia's grandmother wanted their mentor dead. As they still could not believe her words, they did not want to destroy their statue.

[Mia! Tell her that we don't want to kill them!]

[Don't kill my mentor, please!]

Hearing their pleas, Mia bit his lower lips.

"Is there a way to solve this fairy overlord's scheme without harming them?"

Grandmother sighed, "If they were a residual soul of a weak creature or elite human psychic, I would have let them keep the statue. Unfortunately, all fairy creatures are untrustworthy. You experienced it yourself, right? Did you notice that the statue tried to absorb you when your soul got stuck in there?"

Mia frowned. Recalling the past, the statue indeed tried to digest his soul when it went berserk.

"Yes. The statue tried to eat me back then."

All the girls sucked in their cold breath. Misha wept in shock and sadness as she did not remember about her previous self that tried to kill Mia.

.

Maple's breathing became rough for a whole minute as she kept listening to Mia's grandmother. However, she regained her calmness after a bit of temper management. She clicked her tongue in secret, though.

'Nosy dragon! You should have stayed quiet!'

Maple glanced around, observing everyone's reaction. Upon seeing Lana's indifferent expression, she grinned.

'Oh? Did she know? As expect of Gabriel's daughter. He must have already told her about this. Come to think of it, her statue was somewhat in perfect shape when I inspected her room, but I didn't sense a fairy's soul. Did Gabriel destroy the soul for his daughter?'
