Chapter 139 – True Color

In the end, Sasha and Natalie agreed to let Mia kill their mentor's statue, so they would not be devoured by the fairy overlord.

Mia transported Natalie to her soul space first. When Natalie and Mia arrived, a broken statue of a dragon was there in the middle of her room.

Natalie had consumed a couple of parts of her mentor, but she stopped mid-way. She, too, was one of the softies who refused to kill the fairy overlord to get all of their power.

Mia reminded Natalie to bid her farewell, "If you have anything to say to your mentor, you can say it now."

Natalie was still sad and shocked by the revelation. She did not want to believe in it, Mia's testimony confirmed his grandmother's words. Without a choice, the girl decided to trust them.

"Okay."

She walked to the statue, touching it.

"Are you alive? Pana?"

The statue did not answer. The room still remained quiet and tranquil.

"I'm going to devour the statue, okay?"

Nothing happened.

"Thank you for everything. Goodbye."

Natalie shattered the statue to fragments. However, she did not direct them into her body. With a wave of her hand, all pieces entered Mia's soul body.

Most of the fragments entered his body as Natalie commanded, but one sparkling ball did not follow after the soul dust.

As the fragments entered Mia's body, he saw a vision.

Before him, a white dragon stared at him.

[URIEL MIA!? HOW DID YOU CONSUME MY FRAGMENTS!? WAIT A MINUTE, MY CORE ISN'T WITH NATALIE!?]

Mia stared back at the white dragon. Although he could not retort as the vision was created by the dragon, Mia thought as if he could converse with it.

"You must be Pana, I assume. You know, Pana. You sound like someone I know."

[RETURN MY FRAGMENTS TO NATALIE AT ONCE! YOU'RE NOT THE OWNER OF THIS BODY! I HAVE NOTHING TO TEACH YOU!!]

"Too bad. Fine. End this vision, and I'll return them to Natalie."Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.

[GOOD! DO IT NOW, AND GET OUT OF THIS SOUL SPACE!]

Mia scoffed, planning to end this vision as soon as possible since it distracted his soul body. However, upon recalling their brief conversation and his grandmother's words, Mia paused. An inspiration and a theory came to his mind.

"Oh, by the way. How did you know my name?"

[NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. GET OUT!]

"You're moody as ever, Misha. Remember the first day we've met? You didn't yell at me like this."

[THAT WAS BECAUSE I HONORED YOUR WITS AND GUTS!]

Mia laughed, "Misha. No matter if it's a fairy overlord version or a banana version, you're still stupid."

[WHO ARE YOU CALLING STUPID!? YOU- … WAIT, WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?]

"Nice to see you again, Misha Bloominglilly. Well, I doubt that this is your real name."

The vision ended as Mia pulled out all statue's fragments out of his body. The conversation just now proved his theory, and it confirmed his grandmother's word further.

When his grandmother mentioned about how a fairy overlord multiplied, she said that they could shattered and spread their soul into fragments and entered their blood cells.

Just by this information alone, it could be said that all of the fragments should have the same origin. Every cell should have housed a conscience of the same soul. Then, each cell would try to possess a body, so they would multiply as Mia's grandmother had mentioned.

Combined with the nature of its cunningness, each possessed body should have some sort of linkage that connected all conscience together, so they could fabricate their stories and make it more believable to the victims.

Mia and others drank the blood of the same fairy overlord, so their origin should be the same. However, they appeared on everyone's soul space with a different appearance and name, and it did not make sense why the blood of a single fairy overlord had so many souls of different people.

Misha Bloominglilly made an excuse to Mia in the past that her friends migrated with her. However, there was a flawed part of her story. Had every overlord been powerful, could they not use their own blood cells to house their own soul instead?

Since the matter was suspicious, Mia tested his theory by baiting Pana into a confession. Fortunately, she was either stupid or distracted enough to blurt out her secret.

Pana and Misha Bloominglilly was the same person! Both fairy overlords had the same conscience!

This gave Mia many clues about the whole farce and the threat of this fairy overlord. He would not hesitate now.

Meanwhile, Natalie was still dazzled by the lone sparkling fragment. It drew her toward the dust.

Mia managed to snap out of his trance on time. He pulled Natalie away from the light since that was the core of Pana. Afterward, Mia rushed to Natalie's orb in the center of the room, planning to secure it before Pana went berserk.

While Mia was at it, he shouted, "Grandma! Can you hear us? How can I kill the overlord's core!?"

As if his grandmother could hear his voice, another sparkling fragment entered Natalie's soul space. It pulled Pana's core over toward itself.

[NOOOOO!! Mia, Natalie, help me!!]

Both Mia and Natalie could hear the desperation voice of this fairy. For some reason, she was afraid of this bright fragment.

Grandmother Min's mysterious fragment transformed into a tiny black hole, which devoured the core. The hole disappeared afterward.

All of Pana's statue dust seemed to lose its radiance. Mia directed a pinch of powder into his soul and the rest to Natalie. Unfortunately, he did not receive a vision or any enhancement.

On the other hand, Natalie was in a trance again. She seemed to obtain a vision from the statue fragments, which worried Mia.

After a few minutes of waiting, Natalie came back to her sense.

"Mia! I think I can use magnetic force now! I can pretty much use everything relates to thunder, magnetic, plasma, and neuron engineering!"

"WTF!? Neuron engineering?"

"Yup! I think I can create false memory and brainwash people now. Can I try it on you?"

"Heck, no! WTF!? That sounds weird. How did you learn all of this? Did Pana teach you after all this?"

"No. Actually, I didn't receive a vision this time. It feels the same when we killed an MWG soldier and absorbed their memories."

"Really? Did you learn anything about Pana's hidden past?"

When Mia was still inside the colony, he killed many government soldiers and devoured their souls to obtain their memory and experience.

Regardless of whether the devoured soul was a commoner or an elite esper, none of them gave Mia their full lifetime memory. Everyone gave Mia a portion of their recent memory and clues about what Mia had intentionally searched.

This time, Natalie seemed to obtain Pana's psychic skills, which was unusual.

"No. Only psychic power."

"When you ate those, did you search for her past?"

"Nah. I concentrated on her psychic skills, of course. I need to get stronger, or I'll be a deadweight to you again."

"Oh, okay."

Since Natalie was safe from the fairy overlord and they confirmed Min's words about the cunning monsters, Mia exited Natalie soul space.

When Mia got back to his body, he looked at his grandmother.

"Grandma, did you use that black hole thing to take away Pana's soul?"

Min nodded, "Yeah, I did. Now, return Sasha's soul."

Hearing that his powerful grandmother had his back, Mia was relieved.

When Maou returned into his soul space, Sasha and other girls gathered around him.

"How is it, Mia? What has happened? What's the black hole? What about Pana's soul?"

Maou had a wry smile on his face, "It's confirmed. We've been tricked by our mentor. Also, all of our mentors are the same person. She changed her name and altered her memory to fool us."

Mia explained his discovery and his conjecture to the girls, which Misha could also hear it.

As soon as Misha heard Mia's word, she was heartbroken. She could not believe that her previous-self had tried to kill Mia and others.

The eyes of Misha Statue dimmed. As Banana Mia was in despair, she did not want to bother doing anything or controlling Mia's body anymore.

Maou and others did not notice this but Maple and Lana. Banana Mia fell into a deep sleep because of her sadness.

.

When Maou brought Sasha to her mind space, they found a change in her white room.

A broken dragon statue in her soul room did not wait for them to destroy it. Sasha's mentor moved back as if she knew that they were coming to kill her.

Mia and Sasha could even hear her voice.

[Mia Uriel! Sasha Hummingbird! You bunch of ingrates! Is this how you repay my kindness!? Is this how you treat your benefactor!? I saved your life. I taught you everything I know. Is this how humans do to their mentor!?]

Mia clicked his tongue, "Misha, you tried to kill me a few years back. I know what you're trying to do. Stop pretending to be a victim."

[I did not! You are misunderstanding me! Where is this coming from!? I never tried to absorb your soul!]

"Hahaha! Misha, you're a stupid fairy! I said [You tried to kill me], but I've never said that you tried to absorb my soul! How did you know that I wonder?"

[I-Idiot! I was listening to your conversation in the real world!]

"Then, why didn't you reveal yourself that you're still alive? You can move around with that condition, no? Hell, you didn't react when I called you Misha."

The dragon statue that Sasha's mentor was using had only half of its body remaining. Only its head, neck, and torso were still intact, but all limbs and tail were gone.

The face of the dragon statue became sinister. It transformed into Misha Statue and yelled at Mia and Sasha.

[Don't think that you can outsmart me, humans! Don't forget that I still have other cores in your friends' body. If you kill me, the other me in those bodies will kill them! If you want them to live, give me Sasha's soul!]

Sasha and Mia's face paled when Misha threatened to kill their friends. It reminded them that the other 70 soulless bodies of the girls were still under the Milky Way Government's hands. If Misha could destroy those bodies, all souls in Mia's mind space would corrode and convert into black slimes.

.

On the real world, grandmother Min could hear their conversation with her hidden psionic parasite inside Mia's soul.

The psionic parasite was an upgraded ability of psionic link. It allowed the user to spy the target's soul and monitor their soul movements.

This was the reason why Min knew about Mia's condition! From the moment she secured her grandson from the child training project hoax, she injected her parasite to check his status.

Still, Min's face darkened in anger when Misha threatened to kill the real bodies of all girls inside Mia's soul space.

'That's why you shouldn't trust a fairy! Good thing that I brainwashed the core in Mia's room that day. Or else, she would have killed everyone out of desperation.'

Min's eyes radiated in white light, and a game menu appeared before her. She flickered the menu to her friend list tabs.

Under her friend list menu, there were many categories.

There were ten others, but Min did not pay attention to them. She expanded the [Chaos Galaxy Online], which revealed a hundred names of Min's friends.

However, there was a name that Mia hated.

Gabriel Lobmak

Min clicked on his name and began typing messages.
