Chapter 186 – Stalkers

*Mew* (Mish, that group of idiots are following us.)

"I know. I can sense them."

The previous group of four people who wanted to buy Misha's AK-47 was bad at stalking. She could sense them without using her 3D sensor skills.

Checking their weaponry, they had melee weapons, such as a baseball bat, a hammer, a crowbar, and even a shovel. They were a bunch of mobs in the eyes of Misha and Tama.

*Mew* (Let's kill them, so we can concentrate on the monsters.)

"We don't know anything about the consequence of PKing in the open-beta yet. I don't want to dirty our hand recklessly."

*Meh* (You're a worrywart. Just let me kill them and eat them. It's been a while since I ate a human.)

"Meh, I don't want another human's blood in my system. How about this, we pull some monster to kill them in our stead."

*Meh* (Boring tactic. Not even innovative. Lame and shameful. Best idea, ever. Let's do it.)

"…"

Misha pinpointed a monster with 1500 power, a wandering corroding zombie. She picked up a rock and threw it at the monster.

The rock hit the ground next to its feet, and the zombie turned around.

Since Misha was prepared, she had already hidden behind a large tree.

*SCREECH*

The zombie screamed as it got annoyed. It looked around to see if there was something nearby.

Nemo Whale and his group, who were stalking Misha a hundred meters away, had a jump scare when the monster screamed. One of them also shouted in reflex while the others did not mind their feet, creating noises as they walked in the woods.

The zombie located the group of four. It dashed at Nemo and his friends in delight.

*SCREECH*

"That thing is 1500! Run!!"

"AHHHH!!"

The more noise they created, the more monsters running toward them.

Misha and Tama snickered in a hushed voice.

"Hi-five."

*Meh-Heh Mew!* (Oh, yeah!)

.

Without the stalkers, Misha's journey back to Walter became a lot easier. Since she could spot monsters from afar, she did not get into trouble running into a strong monster.

The trailer was before her once again, and she found both Walter and Arthur.

"Master, I went to the mall, and they want to commission you a job."

Walter raised his eyebrows, "What job?"

"Several families want 500kg of your crystals. They didn't tell me about the deadline, though."

"Ah, they run out of stockpile already? I thought Sunsilk have several chefs in the mall."

Walter mumbled to himself as he walked into his trailer. Then, he walked out with several packs of meth and paper notes.

"I cooked these during my free time, but there are only 100kg. Go buy some ingredients for me, then come back and help me make some of them. For now, sell this 100kg to the center and buy me ingredients in the notes."

Walter has run out of food ingredients. Go back to the mafia's theatre and give the list to a clerk there. Then, come back and deliver the dust and his errand items.

Time Limit: 24 Hours.

Reward: Pocket money from Walter

After handling the note to Misha, Arthur scanned Misha's new gears from head to toes. He recalled something.

"Say, Misha. My subordinates back in the slum are complaining that they lack firearms. Can you go to the arms dealer at the theatre on the fourth floor and give my note to him? I've ordered some hardware from him long ago, but I forgot to pick it up. Can you take them and bring them to me?"

Arthur's subordinates lack firearms. Go to the arms dealer and give the list to the clerk there. Then, retrieve the items and come back to Arthur and deliver the items.

Time Limit: 24 Hours.

Reward: Arthur will introduce you to his favorite arms dealer shop.

.

Misha was elated from seeing these two new quests. She felt like she was finally playing a proper game, not partaking in a death game.

Accepted the quests, Misha turned around, planning to go back to the mafia center.

However, her eyes were attracted to the broken Humvee.

"Master, whose car is this?"

Arthur coughed, "That's mine. Some bastards stole the parts when I was still crippled. I'm planning to repair it soon."

Misha grinned as she found another hint of a quest, but she let it go for now. Since Misha had two limited-time quests, she planned to complete them first, one at a time.

.

Misha and Tama returned to the outskirts forest area again, heading toward the slum theatre. She did not bother killing a monster despite having a rifle since the quests seemed more important.

Only when Misha had free time, she would grind.

Along the way, she found the 1500-power corroding zombies. It was eating a corpse of a human.

The human was one of Nemo Whale's friends, who seemed to be defeated by the monster.

The corroding zombie had 70% of its health bar remaining, so the group should have put a decent fight. Yet, it was not enough.

*Mrrr?* (Should we kill it?)

"Hang on, Tama," Misha took off her gloves, "Exit my body via my hands. If you keep coming out of my chest, I'll have to change my clothes again."

*Meh* (So picky. Oh, well. Why don't you use your rifle?)

"I don't have a silencer. Gunshot will draw too much attention."

Without a choice, Tama was put to work again.

*Mew* (Extend your arm forward in a straight line. Point your palms at the zombie.)

Misha followed what Tama wanted her to do, "Like this?"

Before Misha could get the confirmation, she sensed a sharp pain coming from her shoulders through her arms as if her entire muscles failed. Several tentacles of Tama pierced through Misha's arm muscles and bones to construct extendable tentacles from her palms.

Misha's HP reduced by 30 by doing so.

Instead of complaining about the pain, Misha had an inspiration.

"You should do that often when we're inside the city. I can grind my auto-regeneration skill by regenning my HP."

*Mew* (You'll become a masochist if you keep this up.)

Two tentacles burst out from Misha's palm and punctured through the zombie's chest. Its HP dropped to 10% in one strike.

Learned from the previous experience, Tama's extended tentacle spears released spike branches from the two main arms, a technique that was inspired by Maou Mia's tendril strike.

The zombie's HP reached zero, and they enjoyed the oncoming EXP and level.

The EXP gain was fewer than the last time, but they were still significant nonetheless.

This time, Misha did not forget to take the zombie's corpse into her inventory, so she could tribute it to the dragonewt shrine in the Parthenon.

She wanted to test if this method could earn more dust than selling drugs, even though she could already guess that the illegal method was superior. Besides, Misha had to get back to the Parthenon or the Goddess Statue, so she could buy skill books and other things from their shop.

While Misha was at it, she also looted the dead player's corpse, storing it to her game inventory.

Looted everything, she proceeded forward.

Upon reaching the forest exit, a group of ten players surrounded Misha from the front and the sides. Three of them had a pistol while the rest were still using melee weapons.

Misha sensed the killing intent from them. She released the AK-47's safety as she leaped for a cover.

One of the gunners pulled the trigger.

*BANG*

The bullet hit the tree trunk that Misha hid behind.

Although she did not get hit, the game system detected the player's aggression.

>

>

All of the assailants had their names flagged in red, which Misha was free to kill.

On the contrary to Misha's received messages, Nemo and his friends received another set of a warning.

>

Although Nemo and his friends were shocked that the game treated them as a criminal, they were not panicked since they knew a way to escape from the penalty.

Upon killing an innocent player or an NPC, the game would detect if there was an eye witness. Had there been any, the eye witness would run to the authority to report the crime. Once notified, the player(s) would be flagged as criminals until the player(s) had redeemed themselves or had served their time in prison.

In the case that the criminal player(s) managed to silence the eye witness, they could scotch free without the penalty from the NPC officials!

However, the karma penalty would still be applied to them.

With that in mind, they attempted to rob her in the desolated area without a player or an NPC.

"MISS MISHA, HAND OVER THE RIFLE, AND WE'LL SPARE YOUR LIFE!!"

Nemo bellowed while the rest of his friends rushed at her. The six melee fighters charged at her location while the three gunners spread out, trying to find an angle for a clear shot.

Misha clicked her tongue as she put all her upper clothes and vest into her inventory temporarily. There was a reason to do so as she ordered Tama to perform their next move.

At that moment, the six melee fighter found Misha, who was half-naked.

For a split second, they were astonished by her smooth skin and the dragonewt scales that covered her private parts.

That split second of hesitation proved fatal.

Misha and Tama unleashed their trump card attack.

Tendril!

Twelve tentacle spikes protruded from Misha's torso and arms, extending 5-meters and piercing all melee players.

>

>

These players were so weak that their strength was less than 400. As a result, all six of them gave Misha 1 EXP each.

Still, all of their items in their game inventory exploded along with their dust. With a wave of her hands, all items around Misha entered her inventory, including the corpses.

She got 100 dust richer, which was meaningless. However, she could sell their belongings, such as melee weapons and non-newbie clothes.

That was not all.

>

It was something new that Misha had not learned. She was curious about what Karma could do, but it was not the time to research it.

Because three gunners were aiming their pistols at her.

"Monster!!"

Nemo and the three gunners were shocked.

*BANG*

*BANG*

*BANG*

In panicked, they spammed the triggers.

Misha ducked while Tama created a shield out of her tentacles.

*PU*

*PU*

The meat shield was not strong enough as bullets went through it and grazed Misha's waist.

The tendril attack had already reduced her HP by 60. Combined with the loss of the earlier palm attack and the graze, minus the regenerated HP, Misha was left with 45/165 HP

With a clean shot, she might have died.

However, Misha was still in a good mood. She popped a green gel from her VIP inventory and ate it.

>

Three numbers appeared above Misha's head.

Green 100.

Blue 100.

Red 50.

100 HP, 100 PF, and 50 Hunger were recovered!

>

"That good enough."
