Chapter 196 – Catto Penetration

"What's that notification?"

"Evolution? Hi-Human?"

"Roman Bass? That PTW player?"

"LEVEL 141!! WTF!? I AM ONLY LEVEL 40!! TEACH ME, SENPAI!!"

All players were in an uproar when they realized the possibilities of getting an evolution.

Everyone from all sub-servers could see the server-wide notification of an evolution, which tempted rich teenagers into investing in diamonds.

When they looked at the updated ranking list and saw more level 100 people showed up in the ranking out of nowhere, everyone understood that more whales had emerged.

The current diamond market, which the price had swung to 50,000 per diamond, became popular all of a sudden. Within ten minutes, the rate jumped to 190,000, then 230,000, and eventually stagnated at 250,000 as MWG agents sold more of their diamonds, retiring from the diamond business.

Grandmother Min was indifferent toward the market as she had already invested enough.

Earlier, Min used Lilith to buy every diamond that was lower than 150,000 until her set money was spent. When Lilith spent everything, Min rested and waited.

She started restocking again when the price was lower than 100,000. But since the price kept getting lower every minute because of MWG employees kept selling it, Min slowly stockpiled her diamonds in secret, bit by bit.

When it reached the very bottom at 10,000, she stocked everything she could, which brought the price back to 50,000. After that, she stopped as she decreased her diamond's average cost enough.

Now, she was simply waiting for the price to inflate again.

.

.

Misha read the player ranking and glanced at Non with a wry smile, "Sorry, Non. You're not in the top 10 yet."

"Nyani!!"

Non checked her rank and found that she was 12th, the catgirl sulked.

"I'm even lower than that perverted Moo, Nya."

"Huh? Moo is one of the rankers?"

"He's 11th now, Nya! Where did he come from?"

"Oh!"

Misha texted Moo, hoping to invite Moo to join their party and level together.

"Moo, how have you been doing? I saw your name in the ranking. Wanna join my party and level together?"

Not having to wait long, Moo replied.

[I'm mining stones ATM.]

"Then, how dafuq did you grind? I worked my ass off, yet you're catching up with me."

[Mining quests give me tons of EXP. Too busy to grind.]

Hearing that Moo was doing quests, Misha got jealous.

"What kind of quest is that?"

[Chain quests. I'm supposed to collect stones to learn sculpting techniques from my master, but these miner NPCs are afraid of some leaked gas inside the mine. So, I'm here digging for stones while I smash the hell out of these black slimes!]

Misha's face changed from envious to joy when she heard Moo was doing well. Then, her face paled when she heard about black slimes.

"Did black slimes attack you? Are you okay!? Did they invade your soul!?"

[They did once or twice, but I get the gist of it after I killed the first one. It's actually easy to fight them in the white room battlefield. I managed to buy two more basic skills, thanks to them!]

"Don't let your guard down, alright! Finish those stupid quests and get out of there ASAP! Black slimes are bad news!"

[Aww, you're worrying about me? So sweet. Don't worry, my dear. I'll let you use my Catto Dicku to your heart content.]

"…"

Misha turned into a stone as she was taken aback by Moo's last comment. She closed her text messenger as veins under her face pulsed and bulged in anger.

'Go die, you perverted cat!'

.

.

Misha and Non moved from the corroding zombie zone and got to the area where she had been avoiding, the 2500-power mutated bear area.

The 1500 difference in power made both of them nervous. The 1500% buff to all stats made these monsters terrifying.

The weakest bear in this area had 1,000 HP, which was much higher than the zombies they had fought.

"A-Are you sure it's a good idea, Nya?"

Misha and Tama took a deep breath, "We should be alright, maybe."

"M-Maybe?"

Misha revealed a bitter smile as she glanced at one of the new skills that she had not used.

Power: 2

Ignite Chance: 0.5%

Explosion Chance: 0.5%

Size: Ping-Pong

Cast Cost: 10 PF

Cooldown: 2 Seconds

Next Level: 10

>

Shoot a fireball that deals a fixed amount of damage and a chance to ignite the target on fire, dealing DOT damage equal to the power every 2 seconds for 10 seconds.

Power = (Skill Level/100) x (Player's INT + Player's Level)

Ignite Chance Percent = Skill Level/2

Fireball Size evolves every 10 levels.

Explosion Damage = Power x Skill Level

.

This was a dilemma that Misha was having. This skill required PF to cast, which was different from [Flame Field].

Activating flame field consumed 47 Hunger, which was not a problem for Misha. However, she required all PF to generate her flame barrier's HP.

If Misha changed her tactic and used this skill, she would have less barrier HP when she needed it.

Also, the current skill right now was too weak. Without a bit of grinding, this skill was as good as a skill to draw mobs.

But Misha's instinct yearned for this skill. She knew that it would become a strong skill, in the long run, had she leveled it to 100 or higher. All she needed to do was find a monster and increased the skill EXP by keep using it.

*Mrrr* (You should grind this skill on a weak mob, Mish)

"All weak mobs are occupied by newbies. What can I do?"

*Mrrr?* (Then, why didn't you grind it with the corroding zombies!?)

"… I'm a banana. I'm sorry."

Misha changed her mind as she concentrated on her flame field skill.

"I'll focus on [Flame Field] for now. I'll grind this skill when we're free."

*Mew* (Better do it whenever you find a weak mob.)

"Roger that."

In the end, Misha used the fireball skill to draw a bear toward her.

The flaming ping-pong ball hit the back of a bear's head and ignited its head on fire.

2!

2!

The fixed damages appeared.

*ROAR*

The enraged bear dashed toward Misha at full speed. Still, it was a bit slower than the agile corroding zombies.

With only one mutated bear, Misha dodged its first charge attack by leaping to the side while she aimed her rifle at the bear's back, spraying bullets as if they were water.

1!

1!

1!

1!

All 7.62mm shells could not even penetrate the bear's skin.

*Mew* (Don't use the guns. It's a waste of bullets.)

"Ah, I know."

Misha put the gun back into her inventory as she waited for the bear to charge at her again.

It did just that by running on all four, planning to either ram her or bite her.

Misha sidestepped again and activated her flame field at the same time.

The shockwave of fire dome connected with the bear's skin and dealt fixed fire damages to it.

>

100 Fixed damage, which was equal to Misha's INT, was in progress.

The moment it was caught on fire, it stopped running around and stood on two legs.

*ROAR*

The monster raised its sharp claws to swing down at Misha.

At that moment, Non sneaked behind the bear and thrust her spear.

Catto Penetration!

*PU*

Critical Strike! 555!

With just one hit, the bear's HP dropped by half!

*Mew* (Such OP, much hax, wow!)

The mutated bear was stunned and stopped moving for a second.

Without hesitation, Non pulled back her spear and stabbed it a few more times.

171!

189!

Critical Strike! 555!

Just like that, the bear went down.

Both Misha and Moo obtained the same amount of EXP, minus the VIP10 bonus. Non also got to level 79 with one kill.

"Haha! Too easy! Is this really 2500-power?"

Misha shook her head. This cat girl's skill was too OP.

"Your race is so broken."

Non pouted, "My skills are only applicable to melee weapons, though."

"Let's pull more bears. I think I can handle a few at the same time with their speed."

"Cool! I'll go hiding. Same plan, Nya!"

.

.

Misha and Non's hunt continued.

Unfortunately, their hunting method was not a secret to felionian players. All of them were aware of their advantage from their ignore defense perk, but they were not good enough to handle against monster hordes.

Soon, they began grouping and hunting strong monsters.

A mixed group of level 40s felionians and leporians wandered around monster fields to explore, searching for a place to level up. They found Misha and Non, who were hunting together.

"Wow, they are hunting mutated bears already?" A leporian was impressed.

A burly felionian snorted, "That dragonewt is exploiting our race's specialties. Nothing special!"

"But she is tanking for the cat girl, though. She did her part as a tank."

"What tank? She keeps running, flying, and dragging all monsters like an idiot. That's not a proper tanking. At this rate, she will lose aggro, and that cat girl will be in trouble!"

Watching for a while, they finally noticed their display name above their head.

"Misha? That top ranker?"

"Oh? Non Nongnon? That girl is also a top 20. They're working together, I see."

As they criticized Misha and Non's teamwork, one of their party members recorded a clip of their combat style. At first, the player wanted to learn about their secrets and their hidden skills.

After he had recorded it for a few minutes, he got bored, so he posted on his social media account.

The clip of Misha and Non hunting many mutated bears at once was released to the public. However, it revealed the felionian race's potential when they were combating in a party.

A new trend had begun as more human players paid attention to these cat people's prowess.
