Chapter 35 – Break Out – Part Two
The soldiers outside never stayed idle. They pressed a few buttons on the control panel, and a steel plate fell down from the top of the wall, locking down everyone in the room.
The other researchers in the room panicked. They rushed at the door to get out of the room, but it was too late.
"Open the door! Get us out!"
The soldiers ignored them and continued pressing commands on the panel, and the light of the room changed from bright light to red.
Sounds of siren alerted all soldiers on the corridor. They gathered and aimed their rifles at the door and the window glass in preparation while the one who was standing before the control panel had his fist ready on top of the red [Emergency Only] button.
While everybody's attention was elsewhere, Misha swiped her tongue around and dropped her saliva on the bindings on her body parts. The mixture of green liquid and Tama's yellow fluid created a smoke upon the contact with fiber shackles and leather bindings, melting and destroying them in a visible speed.
Tama also swallowed another mouthful of Misha's blood and converted them into his yellow digestive liquid. It poured them back inside Misha's mouth, replenishing her weapon.
'Tama, don't take too much of my blood. I'm getting dizzy.'
*Mrrr? Mew Nom-Nom Mew?*
'What Nom-Nom? Do you want me to eat something?'
*Mew!*
'There's no food or jelly for me here. What do you want me to eat? Human?'
*Mew* *Mew*
'No, Tama. I can't eat those.'
*Mrrr?*
Tama paused his action, but it still poked its noodle-like tentacle eye out from her nose to peek the surroundings.
The tentacle paused as it smelled a familiar scent. It traced the odor and found out that the trace came from the drainage.
*Meh Heh Mew*
As if it laughed, Tama retracted all tentacles into its egg body and relocated all of its tongues to Misha's upper chest location, gathering its yellow juice and planning to do something.
Unbeknownst to Tama's motive, Misha continued dissolving the bindings.
[Stop trying to get out of the room. You have weapons in there! Get the scalpels and stab her in the heart or cut her neck! It will stop her movement, and we'll help you from the outside!]
The remaining researchers came to their sense and looked back. Seeing that Misha had not gotten out of the binding yet, they calmed down.
'Right, we're still in the safe. We'll just have to worry about her tongue. If we don't touch her or let out a sound, she won't know about our location.'
Whispering his thought to his colleague, they crouched down and approached Misha as their eyes glued on Misha's long tongue.
At this moment, her tongue was at least three to four feet long, which was not the length of a human. Green murky drool dripped down from the red tongue, corroding everything it touched.

A leather restraint belt on her upper chest was cut by the corrosive saliva.

Following the leather belt, other restraints on her neck, lower chest, both arms, and her forehead released her from the bind. Misha managed to raise her body and sat up. However, the shackles on her ankles and her legs were still there.
The two scientists held a surgeon scalpel, sneaking toward her back.
As they were about to cut Misha, she turned around along with her spear tongue.

Just like the dead researcher, the tongue thrust into the head of a stalking scientist.
The remaining man slashed his surgeon knife, which cut Misha's throat and her neck artery.
Misha could feel that she was losing control of her body below the neck. In retaliation, she spat the remaining saliva in her mouth, and it splashed on the face of the assailant.
The liquid got through his suit and burned his face and his skin, which made him screamed. The yellow digestive juice of Tama also got into his eyes, blinding him in the process. It took only five seconds for the acidic liquid to melt his face and reveal his white skull.
He wailed and rolled on the ground from the torment before he stopped moving, dying because of the excruciating pain.

Misha, however, collapsed and pulled the stretcher bed to the side with her weight, making it flip to the side as she fell onto the ground. As she fell on the opposite side of the glass window, the stretcher became her cover and blocked the visual from the soldiers outside.
Her blood gushed out from her neck and wet the floor.
Feeling dizzy from the loss of blood, Misha cursed Tama and the previous researcher in her mind for taking out too many of them.
As she concentrated on her MBR to close her wound and regenerate back her blood, she heard a sound of grilling. Misha flicked her tongue like a snake to scan her surroundings again.
Her blood and the floor gave out sizzling sounds as it caused a chemical reaction. The red blood was melting the concrete floor, creating a deep hole and destroying everything it touched.
'Tama! What have you done to me!? Why am I feeling like I'm an alien spawn in the ancient 20th-century movie!'
*Meh-Heh Mew!*
The tentacles of Tama cut through Misha's muscle tissues and poke the tongues out of her body. It also splashed all the yellow liquid that Tama collected to the floor.

The alarm of siren got louder, and ceiling gun turrets had been deployed. Four turrets from each corner aimed at Misha.
All soldiers outside witnessed the slaughter of the researchers. Instead of getting disturbed, they watched Misha's actions as if it was their daily occurrence.
The soldier on the control panel bellowed out while his eyes stared at Misha.
"Requesting permission to terminate the test subject, sir."
"Permission granted. Get rid of her."
"Yes, sir!"
The soldier maneuvered the turrets, aiming the barrels at the collapsed bed in the room.
*BANG* *BANG*
*BANG* *BANG*
The barrage lasted for a whole five minutes until all turrets ran out of bullets.
The room quieted down, and no sign of movement came from the collapsed bed.
"Get a team into the room. Secure the test subject, dead or alive! Even her blood is still useful!"
A squad of five men with AR rifles rushed to the front of the room while the operator in front of the control panel unsealed the lab.
As soon as the seal was undone, the soldiers moved inside as they aimed their rifles at the fallen stretcher location.
But they found something else.
"Sir!"
The soldiers did not know what to do when they witnessed a giant melted hole on the floor. The hole revealed the metallic structures under the ground which everyone could see steel frames, drainage tubes, and concrete layers.
Furthermore, the infected girl was missing!
The commander of the squad sent a gesture to the soldiers outside, which more people rushed in to inspect the room.
The bed had been flipped next to the hole, still binding a pair of severed legs, which riddled with bullets.
A portion of red blood from the legs created a chemical reaction when it touched the ground. However, there were parts that did not do anything to the floor as if they were normal blood.
It showed that not all blood in Misha's body had completely mutated yet.
Seeing the giant dark hole, they brought flashlights and scanned the areas within.
The hole was two meters deep, but it connected to another underground floor below. The freezing temperature from the lower level reached the lab room, and the soldiers could feel it.
Everybody's face was pale.
"Did she slip down there!?"
"Not good! Below here is the warehouse. Send a team in there and take her back!"
