Chapter 63 – Baby Hydra
When the expedition began, Thorn was ordered to rescue the harvesters as planned. Because Misha suddenly ran away from the zombies toward the enemies, Crystal ordered him back to help Misha and Tautog Squad.
Thorn did as Crystal asked by leaping over the battlefield and flew with his mech's back boosters.
Flying for five minutes consumed one entire energy cell, which cost him a red gel each.
War always cost money.
Undaunted by his increasing debts, Thorn continued flying.

As he flew in the dark night, he provided fire support for the Tautog Squad below. A couple of pilots of Tautogs were fleeing from the battlefield as their mechs were destroyed, which Thorn gave them a hand by killing all light tanks in the area.
The battle was about to end as only less than half of enemy mechs remaining.
"I'll just get rid of the missile units, and the battle is over."
Thorn mumbled as he glanced at the base's satellite feeds on his monitor, installed by Crystal.
"Now, where is that missy? Kai, did you find her?"
*Ong* (Crystal said she ran further to the north. We have to move in a bit deeper.)
At this moment, Crystal contacted Thorn.
"Misha has destroyed four MS trucks and is stealing one back to our base. Can you support her, Chacha?"
Hearing the new order of Crystal, Thorn cringed. What in the blue world had Misha done over there?
Thorn had believed that she was just an airhead inexperience girl. All of a sudden, Misha acted like an elite.
"Sure, chief! Whatever you say."
Zeris One left the main battlefield, leaving the rest to the Tautog Squad. It did not take long for Thorn and Kai to find the traces of Misha.
*Ong* (I found her! The missile truck is over there!)
Kai highlighted what he found using the side monitors of the cockpit. Thorn glanced at the screen and saw a truck with a trailer full of weaponry, running away from five APCs.
One of the APCs managed to get to the side of the truck, but a boulder of burning rock crashed it.
"Huh? Is that missy's psychic skill?"
*Ong* (Looks like it. She's from the nesting ground of those rats after all.)
Kai proceeded to lock-on the four chasing APCs and fired the rockets from Zeris One's shoulders, deleting the vehicles in one go.

"Oi, use the bullets and save the rockets! It's expensive!"
*ONG!* (If you slow down on those weeds, you can buy back a hundred of those after this job!)

"No, your brain is malfunction! My INT is 850. I'm the best genius in the base 88, mind you!"

Despite the bickering, Thorn and Kai operated the mech as one and escorted Misha's truck to the center of the battlefield.
Kai controlled the mech's arms and aimed its rifle at a transformer robot, which was aiming its sniper rifle at Misha's truck.

Kai fired one shot.
The tank robot seemed to detect them and dodged the bullet ahead of time by reversing its centipede tracks. It still shot at Misha's truck.

*BOOM*
The bullet missed, but it caused an explosion and a burning crater in front of Misha's vehicle.
"Crap! She's gonna crash!"
Thorn was about to rush down to the ground and save Misha, but an unexpected event occurred.
Misha decreased the truck's speed and slid sideways, turning toward the sniper tank robot.
*ONG!* (Oh yeah! She's good!)
"… Beginner's luck."
*Meow* *Ong* (Jealous? Little junkie rat? Hey look at the missile.)
"What?"
The missile on the back of the truck moved. It was suddenly armed and flew from the missile launch pad.
*BOOM*
Before the two could react, the missile hit the tank robot and exploded it to pieces. Although the pilot of the mech ejected in time, he should be caught by Tautog's men soon.
"Holy shit."
*ONG!* (Brilliant! That must have been Tama.)
"How do you know?"
*Mah-Hah Ong* (That's a secret.)

Krastel observed the battle from a distance away. He did not interfere with anyone even though his students died left and right. He did not mind it since they would be resurrected at the save point anyway.
Instead of paying attention to the students or the battle of the robots, he stared at the 12-meter queen egg with interest.
All green zombies had been wiped out, leaving only the queen. However, the local army failed to subjugate it as their firepower was not enough.
"Somebody tell the armored team to help us!"
"Where is the support!?"
"What are those MS units are doing!?"
Shouts and screams came from the soldiers while they were taken into the mouth of the queen one after another.
Krastel laughed. These local soldiers were so gullible that they did not realize that they were just discarded pawns.
Glancing at his side with his [Clairvoyance] psychic ability, the upgraded version of Dove's [Sage Eyes], Krastel could see that the mustache commander was fleeing from the battlefield. However, there was a captured mutant lizardman within one of the escort vehicles.
'So they have succeeded.'
Krastel snorted in disgust.
'Well, Mia has infiltrated the mutants, and the local government gets the hold of a living lizardman. I should get something for myself.'
Krastel glanced at his skill list and his status. Under the long list of his skills, one of the skills that Misha had also listed there, the Pheromone.
'From the previous log files from the admins of the game, Mia used this skill to fool the queen into taking him into the womb and got infected with the parasite. I should try that as well.'
He kicked the ground and jumped over on the top of the queen egg with ease. As soon as his feet landed on the surface, the queen's tentacle grabbed his legs and pulled him into the digestive fluid within her stomach.
Krastel resisted the corrosive forces with his MBR, regenerating his melted skins and muscles in an instant.
The queen noticed the anomaly. She dragged the naked Krastel in front of one of her eyes to examine him.
Krastel mimicked Misha and released his Pheromone.
As he had predicted, the queen dragged him into her baby chamber and locked him inside.
Krastel got up on his feet after confirming that he got in. Looking around himself in the green glowing room, he laughed.
"This is so easy. Why did all the agents fail? I can just copy his action and get the parasite, then I'll be a billionaire by selling my blood to those craving geezers!"
He activated his Clairvoyance again to see his surroundings. When he could see everything again, a lone red egg at the size of adult human stood in front of Krastel.
There was no green egg within this room, only one red egg.
"Huh? Isn't this supposed to be a green egg? Shouldn't there be several eggs within one room?"
Suddenly, an eyeball appeared on the surface of the egg's skin, which was different from all egg monsters he had seen.
'This is not right! Something is wrong!'
Krastel was about to snap his fingers to activate his Cryokinesis, the abilities to manipulate ice, but the eye of the red egg flared before he could do anything.
*BOOM*
The upper half of Krastel's body was blown to bits, leaving the lower parts from his stomach down to his feet intact.
This was Krastel's first encounter with an alpha egg, the real form of a baby hydra.
This was also his last time living as a human in both worlds.
Furthermore, this would be Krastel's most memorable experience in his lifetime.
