The King of Avians motioned to some of the Avians and said to me "We will take you to the top of the cliff. You want to know what is inside, we will show you but then, you will explain to me what is your plan". I nodded my head and the Avians lifted off. One of the Avians grabbed me and carried me with them.
I was surprised that the talons, made no damage to my body, I guessed that they could control their strength very well. What followed next was extraordinary. The Avian carrying me, flew up high and headed for the cliffs. 'This view… is so incredible! I hope he doesn't drop me though. We are quite far away from the earth' I thought. As a human, I was not used to such heights, I was scared but also excited at the same time.
Flying, was always something humans dreamed of but could never achieve. 'No wonder so many people admire birds. How nice would it be, if I could fly like this?' I thought. I looked to my left and right and searched for stuff, I wouldn't be able have that kind of view very often, so I wanted to use it to the fullest.
In the distance, further to the north. I noticed great clouds that looked like fog or mist. It didn't seem to be the usual fog or mist, those could be thunder clouds. I decided to ask the Avian who was carrying me. "What is over there? That large mist or fog?". The Avian looked in the direction, I showed with my hand and said "This place is called Land of Mirages. It's very dangerous, that mist is not normal. This thing creates illusions when one enters or even goes near it. I never heard of anyone coming out of this place alive, or dead either. Things simply disappear over there".
'What an interesting place! I'm not about to go there but I wonder, why is that mist there in the first place. Something must be causing it' I thought. When I looked to the south, I thought I would be able to see the border line between the North and the Great Forest, but it wasn't there. What replaced it, was something like a large city. I decided to ask about that as well.
"That in the south, is it a city?". The Avian again looked in the direction, I pointed to and said "Yes, that is a city. It's quite big to be honest. The city is called Tremor and it isn't something, you should visit. The creatures living in that place hate humans. They would kill you at the first sight. We sometimes make deals with them but rarely".
'Good thing I didn't go there first. It could get hot very quickly. I can imagine a whole city chasing after me… I would be dead pretty fast' I thought. The flight didn't last very long, we landed at the top of one of the cliffs. The Avian carrying me, placed me gently on the ground and flew off, to join the swarm.
The King of Avians landed next to me with her bodyguards and said "Follow me. I will show you what is inside". I followed after her to the edge of the cliff, that was facing the valley below. She said "Look down and tell me what you see".
I took a looked and my expression froze from the shock. I said "Don't tell me… are those animals.. healthy?". She laughed lightly and said "Yes. We have our own way of breeding and sustaining those healthy animals as our food. This is the reason why the damned Corpse Dogs are trying to take over this place". 'It would make sense, the Corpse Dogs didn't have much to eat in the wilderness. That type of large pool of healthy animals, was like water in the desert' I thought.
"I now know why the Corpse Dogs want to get inside or rather take over this place. But this is not all you have here. The dogs might be here for the livestock but how do you feed that livestock? Is my question". She nodded and said "We managed to grow plants here. That is how we feed the animals. We can also eat those plants, so our diet is not based on meat alone".
I was shocked even more. 'Grow plants… here? In this wasteland?' I thought as my mouth went agape. The King of Avians saw that and laughed a bit again. She said "It is shocking, isn't it? But it's true. Although, I will not tell you how we do it and I won't let you see the process either, but I can give you some herbs, after your part of the deal is done".
I nodded and asked "What about skills. Can you teach me something?". She replied "You are not an Avian. I don't think we will be able to teach you anything". I said "How about you show me some skills and whatnot. Maybe you have some training grounds here as well. I could always have a look and judge myself, if I can learn something or not".
She didn't seem to mind it and said "Sure, I don't see why not. Now tell me, what is it that you want to do, in order to exterminate the damned dogs?". I took out the Yellow Dust and asked "Do you know what this is?". The King of Avians shook her head, dumbfounded. I sprinkled some of it on the ground, then took out a torch.
I lit up the torch and said "Watch". I then touched the Yellow Dust with the torch and it went "Poof!". The King of Avians didn't seem to understand and asked "Is that your plan?".
I said "You may not know that but this thing comes from the Den. There is enough of it there, to blow out that place couple of times. In simple terms, I want to blow them up completely. This might not kill all of them but a large majority for sure. The leader of Corpse Dogs will have to make a move after such loses. There are two options for it. The first option is to fight and the other to run away. Whichever it chooses, your problems will be over with".
The Avians seemed to realise what my plan was. The King of Avians said "That is a clever idea but how will you do it?". I said "This is where you come in. I need a distraction. I need you to attack 3 or 4 entrances while I slip in, to the Entrance No. 2" and took out the map with all the entrances.
I continued "I don't need you to risk your lives but attract attention, so that the Entrance No. 2 is less guarded. There is also another thing I will need". She asked "What is that?" to which I replied "Transport. I need one of you to pick me up from there. When I start it up, I might not be able to get far away in time. I need someone to wait for me at the Entrance No. 2".
The King of Avians thought about it for a while and said "We can do that. When do you want to start?". I said "There are about 4000 of them. Let me grind them down a bit. I want them to be on high alert, so that they send reinforcements when the time is right. Then I will blow them up". She nodded her head and said "Just come back to the original spot, when you are ready". I nodded my head and said "Alright, I will be back in a while".
