Just before when the discussions was happening back at the academy, the next slot of 400-800 was announced to take their test, however as soon as Yama stepped on the staircase, the staircase started shaking violently, cracks could be seen everywhere until the whole staircase crumbled into dust.
The cultivators were startled and shocked by this scene and they hurriedly jumped of the staircase as they did not know what caused this to happen.

Yama, the Lord of Hell is also known as the God of Death, so how can the Steps of Death used to evaluate the mighty lord who is the sole proprietor of death.

"This...elder this is not suitable...Naga is a demon beast locked up securely even experts at the spirit realm will find it hard to tame it, and if we let them challenge Naga, all the cultivators won't be able to tame it!"
"That's the whole point we already have 5 qualified cultivators from slots 1- 400! We can just let them join the academy and it looks like we have already found the genius in a very long time. The reason why I suggested to bring out Naga is because we would have to provide them with a test just to make sure that everyone thinks we gave them fair treatment so is better for the cultivators with slots 400-800 to take the demon beast test." All the elders currently in the room could not deny Hui Ran's words because for them Fen Juechan is a genius that has achieved the impossible so chances of seeing a new genius is very unlikely however there was one person amongst the people who was in disagreement and this was none other than Ying Yue.
Ying Yue firmly believes that Yama can achieve the impossible even though that the Steps of Death has broken she was confident in Yama taming a demon beast as he has dealt with a real demon before so she was hundred percent sure that he can easily tame a beast but when she heard that they were going bring out Naga she couldn't help but frown.
The only person in the academy that can handle that beast is Light Void otherwise there is a high chance that the cultivators who is going to be taking up the challenge to be harmed by the beast.
"Elder by any chance, someone is able to tame the beast what will happen?" Ying Yue asked she still hoped that Yama can somehow show her a miracle.
"Hmph! even experts at the spirit realm will find it a hard time taming that beast do you really think anyone will be able to tame that beast?" Hui Ran replied coldly, he previously heard the conversation between her and Fen Heng so he can easily tell that Ying Yue was talking about the person before who thinks will beat the record but regardless is highly impossible for that person to tame Naga.
"This...but I am saying elder 'if' someone is able too then what will happen" Ying Yue didn't feel like giving up at all even though Hui Ran is the third elder in the academy, Ying Yue's uncle is also one of the elders of the academy therefore she will not need to care about offending him.
"Ying Yue! Hmph! Alright if someone is capable of taming that beast, he wouldn't need to do the other tests, He can join the academy." Hui Ran coldly said with contempt, regardless he firmly believed that no one is able to tame that beast therefore he didn't care giving this word.
Ying Yue was satisfied with the answer from Hui Ran, so everything else now solely depended on Yama.

"Everyone! There has been an issue withe Steps of Death so we are moving onto the next test, but do not worry as long as you pass the next test. You don't need to do the third test and you will be directly appointed as a student of the academy.
For the second test you will have to tame a demon beast, the only problem is that the demon beast's current cultivation level is at tenth stage of the Elementary Realm." The voice resounded once again across the field.
"What isn't that just asking us to fail this test? How is this even fair!"

"Alright brats! I have no time for you lot.. so each one of your quickly get your ass here and star the challenge. Let me introduce you to my friend Naga!" Light void said as he opened the black box.
As soon as the cultivators saw what came out of the box they couldn't help shudder in fear, the scene in front of them revealed the demon it was a 25 feet seven headed cobra, it looked like it was ready to devour every single cultivator in front of it, but because of Light Void next to it some of its senses were cut off.
"Hiss...." as the snake started hissing it started emitting its aura around the cultivators, instantly cultivators who were at and under the seventh stage of the Elementary Realm fainted, apart from one person and that was none other than Yama, all of a sudden only two hundred cultivators were left from this slot.
