Chapter 641: Wizard Tomb

In the middle of the night, the Corpse Wizard King, Dark Dragon King, and the rest of the group were either sleeping soundly or seizing the time to meditate, after having toiled the entire day. Yang Ling was sitting cross-legged within his tent, wielding a dark gold carving knife as he concentrated on carving a wooden puppet.

One stroke, two strokes…

After a few dozen strokes, the arm-sized block of Purple Sandalwood had been carved into a general shape, and after this came the delicate detail work. The flat carving knife turned into a bolt of golden light as it moved past the air. Slicing, picking, scraping… The knife was like a playful elf, bringing with it shreds of wooden shavings. Soon, a head, neck, and limbs gradually took shape.

In order to cultivate the Life Graft Wizard Technique and in order to learn how to create wooden puppets, Yang Ling had ordered the craftsmen of the Magical Beast Military Factory within the Wizard Pagoda’s Space to create a specialized carving knife. The knife was dark gold all around and had a sharp edge, able to break through any material!

After carving the general shape of a human, Yang Ling now entered the more delicate process of developing the details. Yang Ling was incredibly careful, slowly carving out the eyebrows, nose, and eyes. With the control he got from his powerful Mental Energy, he strived for perfection with every stroke. Two hours later, he had a lifelike wooden puppet before him.

“After this, I should set up a restriction. I hope that I can succeed on the first try!”

After setting the sharp carving knife onto the ground, Yang Ling took a deep breath, then silently recited a Wizard Mantra. His massive Mental Energy swarmed outward as the Soul Crystal in his brain pulsed, pushing along a ball of thick Crystal Mist and enveloping the entire wooden puppet.

Buzz…

The wooden puppet let out a crisp ring, then began shaking as if it was a battery-operated toy. It also looked like a carp that was struggling intensely, attempting to free itself from Yang Ling’s grasp. Slowly, red vein-like strings appeared on the surface of the puppet, forming mysterious symbols and releasing waves of an obscure energy ripple. However, just as Yang Ling thought that he was about to succeed, an accident happened!

With a crack, the small wooden puppet suddenly exploded into pieces. After working for half a day, all Yang Ling was left with was a ground full of wood shavings!

“Sigh, another failure. Is the spell wrong, or do I not have enough control over my Mental Energy?” Looking at wood shavings on the ground, Yang Ling shook his head in frustration. Up till now, Yang Ling had already failed five to six times. At that moment, he did not know where the problem was.

Life Graft was a high-level Wizard technique that could divert an enemy’s killing blow at the crucial moment. It was clearly not easy to understand and grasp!

“If I can’t do it in a day, I’ll practice it for a month; If I can’t do it in a month, I’ll practice it for a year. I do not believe that I cannot master the Life Graft Wizard Technique!” Yang Ling was not disappointed. He took out a pitch-black stele from within his Space Ring, then closely examined the records of the Life Graft Wizard Technique.

The further he went down the path of Soul Wizard Techniques, the harder the techniques would be to master. The Life Graft Wizard Technique was obscure and mysterious and had alarming power. It was normal that he could not understand and grasp the technique within a short time. Being able to understand and master the technique in just a day was even more impossible.

Nothing good came out of being impatient!

The harder a Wizard Technique was to cultivate, the more powerful it was. According to the explanation on the stele, it was normal for a Wizard to shut themselves in and train for tens, if not several hundreds of years. Yang Ling collected himself and emptied his mind, immersing himself in cultivating the Wizard Technique and was completely oblivious to whatever was happening in the outside world.

A few days soon passed.

“Lord, Lord…” A flurry of anxious cries finally jolted Yang Ling awake, who had been immersed in the way of the wizard. After opening his eyes, he saw that the Corpse Wizard King, Master Aaron, and the rest of the group were surrounding him.

“Lord, five days have passed and we have stored all of the corpses into the crystal coffins. Do you think…?” the Corpse Wizard King loudly asked Yang Ling for his directions.

Five days?

Yang Ling was a little taken aback. He did not expect five full days to have passed even though he had only felt that he had trained for an instant. It seemed that he would have to find time to shut himself in and train after this operation at the Graveyard of Deities and Demons was over. He should train and gain an understanding of even more profound Soul Wizard Techniques.

After walking out of the tent and seeing the thousands of crystal coffins lined up in a row, looking at the Wizard Guards and Wizard Servants who had unfortunately met with misfortune, Yang Ling’s heart felt a little heavy. The legacy that came from the Wizard’s Pagoda had let him remember the Great Wizard who had battled with the heavens and defended his clansmen during the chaotic era. It had also made him remember the Ancient Wizards of the legends who had fallen one after the other.

The battle between the Great Wizards and the heavens, the resistance toward the unfathomable fate, this was destined to be a rocky road!

“Rodriguez, Aaron, come with me to the Wizard Pagoda’s Space!” Looking at his solemn followers by his side, Yang Ling made a Wizard Seal and moved them into the Wizard Pagoda’s Space together with the many crystal coffins. A white light flashed passed as they appeared on a tall mountain within the Holy City.

The mountain was not tall, but they could see the entire Holy City when they stood on the mountain. They could see the mass of palaces, as well as Wizard’s Pagoda that was enveloped within the white fog. The mountain was lush with flora and fauna, the scenery green and serene.

“Wizard Tomb, the tomb of a Great Wizard, let’s bury the crystal coffins here. I hope that every brave warrior who has met with misfortune will be able to rest in peace here!” After leaving a few instructions behind, Yang Ling took out the Great Wizard Altar and flew onto it, sitting cross-legged. He softly recited the ancient incantations recorded on the stele.

The bleak incantations spread far and wide, covering every corner of the Wizard Pagoda’s Space and shaking the souls of everyone within. The fervent rings of bells rang out from every replica of the Wizard’s Pagoda. The ancient incantations sounded incredibly bleak and desolate, deeply shaking the souls of everybody in the space.

Time seemed to have stopped moving. Their souls seemed to have undergone a cleansing!Read latest chapters at NovelFull

Yang Ling, who was sitting cross-legged on the Great Wizard Altar did not know that after news of this spread out, the Wizard Tomb would become the place to go whenever the devotees headed over to the Holy City to pray. The devotees would weep whenever they walked around the tomb of the Great Wizard and saw the nameless plaques, remembering the brave warriors who had sacrificed themselves to defend their homeland and Wizard Sect.

The Wizard Tomb was the final resting place for the Wizard Guards after they died. It became a holy land in the hearts of the devotees, just like the Wizard’s Pagoda was! The day in which the tomb was built became the day of fasting for the devotees. They would bathe and change on this day before fervently praying.

After burying the crystal coffins and instructing Scorpion King Ymort to settle the follow-up matters surrounding the tomb, Yang Ling left quietly together with the Corpse Wizard King and the rest of the group. He had wanted to have a seat near the Wizard’s Pagoda, but an energy vortex suddenly appeared in the air while he was walking there. He heard a deafening roar of lightning before a blanket of purple flames descended from the sky.

The Giant Ape King, a human-shaped Gundam, was finally going to face his long-awaited Divine Tribulation after training with the Magical Divine Ring for a few days!

The laws of the universe were once again descending onto the Wizard Pagoda’s Space!

Within the blanket of purple flames were red-hot meteors raining onto the Giant Ape King. From far away, it looked as though shooting stars were descending from the sky, each meteor harboring an intense heat and terrifying energy, leaving behind deep craters on the ground.

Roar…

The Giant Ape King slipped into a bestial frenzy after being hit on the head by a meteor. He took out the Pure Gold Sand Club made especially for him by the Magical Beast Military Factory and shattered the falling meteors into pieces. He was overcome with bloodlust, like a God of War. The figure of his club overlapped, waving in the air like a windmill. The meteors were all smashed to bits no matter how strong they were.

The Giant Ape King’s talent of immense strength was displayed to an impeccable degree!

The wave of the Divine Tribulation came one after the other, its power increasing in intensity. The radius of both the scorching purple flames and the terrifying rain of meteors became larger and larger. The Corpse Wizard King and the rest of the group who were observing the situation from the outside retreated time and time again out of caution, while the Giant Ape King howled loudly within the ordeal. He took the impact head-on using its alarming and powerful body. Even though he was bleeding on his head and had his entire body covered in blood, he stubbornly held on despite the waves of attacks. Seeing that there was no threat to his life, Yang Ling did not step in and instead retreated to the side along with the Corpse Wizard King.

Buzz…

After a few dozen waves of fierce attacks, the Divine Tribulation finally vanished into the wind. An incandescent ray of silver light flashed down from the sky, enveloping the heavily injured Giant Ape King. Under the nourishment of the white light, the injuries on the Giant Ape King’s body healed quickly, and the pulsing energy in his body concentrated to form a fiery-red divinity!

The Giant Ape King had finally broken through the barrier to the divine level using his powerful talents and stubborn battle spirit!

“Lord, I have advanced, I have advanced directly to become a High-level Deity!”

After the silver light scattered, the Giant Ape King was incredibly excited when he sensed the powerful ripples of energy within his body. He had consumed the divinity of a High-level Deity in the past, but had been unable to fully assimilate it even with the help of the Black Crystal Marrow. To think that he would instantly be able to assimilate it when the silver ray of light descended, becoming a powerful High-level Deity in one fell swoop!

“Good, very good. However, High-level Deity is but a start. Train hard, and grasp the secrets behind the Demon God Battle Formation!” Yang Ling nodded his head. He was incredibly relieved when he saw the powerful Magical Beasts by his side advance one after the other.

The bitter effort has finally reaped joyous rewards. The Divine-level Magical Beast Army was finally taking shape!

“After this, is it time to reorganize the Magical Beast Army and subjugate a large number of Divine-level Magical Beasts, as well as consolidate the resources and strength from all sides?” Looking at the excited Giant Ape King, then seeing the Corpse Wizard King, Dark Dragon King, and the rest of the group by his side, Yang Ling had a thought.

Many evil demons were gathered at the Moon River, attracting powerful fighters from the various major dimensions. In order to guarantee his own safety and reap benefits from the area, he had to possess immense strength. In such a short span of time, other than seizing the time to cultivate the Life Graft Wizard Technique, the most effective way to increase his strength was to subjugate a large number of Divine-level Magical Beasts and set up an unparalleled Magical Beast Army while he was heading into the area.

Magical Beasts roamed in every corner of the Graveyard of Deities and Demons, and there were countless Divine-level Magical Beasts in the dimension. As long as he could take several dozens, or several hundreds of Divine-level Magical Beasts to protect himself, as long as they all managed to grasp the Demon God Battle Formation, he would definitely be safe in this journey. Yang Ling believed that he would be able to kill even a powerful fighter like the Rain Demon in a head-on battle.
