The next day, Su Lian went to work right after dropping Su Yichen off at school. She felt that she was getting used to her new routine. He seemed to like going to school and hadn't asked about his father again which made her feel relieved.

The day went by smoothly. In the evening, after dinner, she laid on the couch with her son asleep in her lap and watched some entertainment news.

Later, she got a call from her brother, Su Qiong. It was about a dinner banquet her uncle had invited her to. Their grandfather was turning seventy and her father's brothers were throwing a family party for him at the old home.

"How does uncle know I'm back?"

"I'm not sure, but everyone knows that you're back... even dad." Su Qiong's voice is laced with anger and confusion. He hadn't told anyone about his sister's return.

"Since when?"

"They've known for the past two days and Su Mo Chou and her mother keep on harping that you're being unfilial for not contacting your family."

"Unfilial?" Su Lian smirked. It looks like she'll have to pay her father a visit whenever she was free.

Hanging up the phone, she gazes at her son sleeping on her lap with a complicated look on her face.

Should she bring him along?

...

In another city

A sleek, black limo pulls up in front of a large building. Stepping out of it are two graceful figures.

Before they even have time to land, they are encircled by a large crowd with eager and expectant faces.

"Mr. Han, Ms. Han, the two of you really came. "

"Wow, you both are so beautiful."

"The most notable among the younger generation."

"Your parents must be proud to have children like you."

Hearing all the flattery around them, Han Yuan and Lili's expressions don't change in the slightest. Attending events like these and being surrounded by people trying to curry favor with them was a part of the siblings' daily lives.

The fawning crowd noticed that they were not getting the response that they wanted. So they unanimously decided to change their approach and target only one of the siblings instead.

They were wise enough to know that no matter how well they could flatter, Han Yuan wouldn't breathe a word of reply. As a result, they all swarmed around Han Lili.

Thus the evening went on.

After about an hour, Han Lili got tired of listening to honeyed words, fake smiling and pretending to give a jack about what people had to say. She knew that she was a great actress, but everyone had their limits. As she was getting ready to escape from the crowd, a young woman with a white dress came up to her smiling.

"Miss Han, this brown hair color looks so lovely on you."

It was a normal compliment, and the girl was not more charming than any of the others. But thinking of the reason why she dyed her hair brown in the first place, Han Lili can't help but reveal a beautiful smile.

"Thank you. It came as an inspiration from a friend."

Hearing his sister's enthusiastic response, Han Yuan raises a brow. "If you have a friend, then why isn't she here? Wouldn't it be much easier for you."

Han Lili felt aggrieved, she wanted nothing more than for her new 'best friend' to be here with her. Not only would she enjoy her company, but it would also be a great opportunity for her to meet her brother.

"That's none of your business."

"She isn't real, is she?"

Han Yuan wouldn't believe what his sister said. Not only did she lie a lot to get what she wanted, but this wouldn't be the first time that she would claim to have a friend. The other times all ended up being girls that she just made up.

Feeling upset that she was being doubted, Han Lili frowns and speaks in a voice that only the two of them can hear.

"She's just as real as your ex-girlfriend."
