Turning her head back, Su Lian sees an old woman rushing towards the gate.
"Young miss. It really is you." The woman began tearing up at the sight of her.
"Nanny Lai?"
She pushes the guards away and runs to grab a hold of Su Lian's hands.
"Young miss, you've returned. This old maid knew that nothing happened to you and you would surely return."
While trembling, she proceeds to pull Su Lian inside with her but the guards block their path.
"Old hag, you better not outstep your bounds. What is your business at the gate?"
Nanny Lai glared at the guards.
"You dare try to obstruct the young miss's path. Have you forgotten who your master is? Or do you want to act like you don't recognize the legitimate daughter of the Su family?"
Hearing her words, the guards lowered their heads. Nanny Lai has already called out her identity so they could no longer pretend to be ignorant of who she is. They could not go too far.
