Han Lili throws her a questioning look. "It's a promotion. You don't want it?"
"I-I am very grateful, but I don't want to leave. This is my home. I've never lived in any other country. Also, my English isn't very good." Shen Xun has an awkward smile on her face. There really isn't any good reason for her to reject this offer. She has no family that she would be potentially leaving behind and this is a great opportunity for her to make more money and start a new life. Anyone with a brain would accept this without a second thought, but she can't.
She can't leave him.
If she goes, she may never get to see him again.
"I would like to stay here and continue my job. I'm sure that there are people more qualified than me."
"Don't worry about such trivial things dear. You can learn to speak English fluently in under three months. That's not a problem. And who cares about qualification? We watched you grow into an adult. We've seen you take on tasks way above your skill level and accomplish them." Liu Yumei puts on a loving smile. "You'll do amazing, I know it."
"Don't try to humble yourself by not accepting it. This promotion is yours. You deserve it and it's not an option." Han Haoran's voice is slightly authoritative. "It has all been finalized and you'll be transferred in a week. You'll be given a home, a car, a driver and an assistant."
With all of that said, Shen Xun has no way to refuse. "Thank you, Mother, father and Ms. Han." She manages to hide her frustration and appear extremely grateful.
"No need for thanks dear, you deserve it."
After dinner, Shen Xun 'thanks' everyone again before driving to her home.
She lives in a bungalow in an extremely isolated neighborhood. The two houses beside hers are run-down and abandoned. The old man who lived on her right side died a few years ago and the family to her left moved out even before that.
She walks into her living room and turns on the lights before smiling contentedly.
All her walls are covered in pictures of Han Yuan.
She had taken some herself while he wasn't looking and got the rest from off of the internet.
She walks up to a corner and caresses the face on one of the pictures. "Mr. Han, they want me to leave next week. I don't know what I'll do if I can't see you again. I might go crazy."
She takes the picture off the wall and lies on her couch with it still in her hands.
"Do you know that they're trying to transfer me? Are you the one who ordered this? Do you think I'm bothersome, Mr. Han?" After getting no response from the picture, she starts making out with it while taking off her clothes.
Before she can continue, she hears slight muffling sounds coming from the other end of the hall.
"I almost forgot about them." She says before walking into her guest room.
Sarah and Sun Tang are chained to a twin bed, naked and covered in wounds.
