Dahlia walked to Orlando Company.

The company is just a few minutes of walk from the commerce guild.

Although it was made of wood, it is a reasonably large three-story building. It is a place that she has visited many times before.

After Tobias’s father passed away, I came here to help him out with the bookkeeping and calculations for some time.

As I stepped in, several gazes turned my way.

The moment they saw Dahlia’s face, each of them has a different expression. Some is that of curiosity, some are sympathetic, and some turned scornful.

Despite her desire to escape, Dahlia corrected her posture.

It was decided on the day her engagement was broken.

I won’t hang my head down with just this.

“Ara, good afternoon. Rosetti-san.”

Up until a few days ago, Tobias’s mother who had called her Dahlia now stiffly addressing her with a made-up smile.

“I am sorry for the suddenness. Since Emilia-san has a connection with the Viscount, I couldn’t stop him…..well, your relationship with Tobias was just a work-related one anyway, I am sure that you can find yourself a better person than him.”

All I heard was, I’m sorry but there’s a noble involved so it’s really not our fault.

While increasing the power in my facial muscles, I manage to make a normal expression.

“Yes, that matter was already over. I have some guild related matter to confirm with him, would you please call Tobias-san out for me?”

“Guild related matter? Ah, there’s still some work that you are doing with Tobias right, I will call him here.”

It seems she was relieved to see Dahlia’s calm attitude. Tobias’s mother immediately has the clerk call out Tobias.

“…….Dahlia, did you want something from me?”

Tobias emerged from the back of the store with a little awkward expression.

Getting called out by the person who you just broke your engagement with, it might be natural that he can’t greet me with a smile huh.

“I am here to talk to you about the matter of the profit contract for the small magic stove.”

“That is……….!”

His brown eyes are swimming all over the place and his face is getting paler by the minute.

“Sorry. About that…..can we continue in the reception room.”

Saying so, he guided Dahlia to the closest reception room.

As we sit down facing each other, Tobias bows down.

“I am sorry. I forgot to explain that. It was just a misunderstanding.”

“What do you mean? I heard from the person in charge that you said you had received my consent so she registered it under your name without confirmation from me though.”

“That’s, after our marriage, I was planning to start a new company for us. So I thought that it would be better to put it under my name…..”

“And, you planned to take everything I create after our marriage under your name?”

“Yes, since we are setting off with the new company, I was thinking about using my name as the joint ownership for it.”

From the moment our engagement was broken to now, there have been times that I was angry or exhausted by how shameful he was.

But this is the first time that I have become so angry yet feel so cold at the same time.

“If you have developed a magic tool for people’s use, carve your name on it, take responsibility for your invention and take care of it—–that was what my father taught me.”

My frozen pair of emerald eyes stared straight into Tobias.

“It would be nice if it was registered under our joint ownership. But if something goes wrong and the magic tools malfunction or an accident happened, that would never reach my ears isn’t it”

“That is, I thought that it would be fine if I tell you myself so……”

After Tobias said that, he solidified.

From someone who broke off our engagement and causes us to become strangers, he said that extremely lightly.

“Please cancel the profit contract for the small magic stove later today. I will re-register it afterward.”

“No, that is……..”

He has to admit his own dishonesty.

It is certain that he will have a hard time with the commerce guild in the future.

“It was the matter when we were engaged right? Suppose you accepted the contract under my name, we can leave the name section alone and make it that you sell the contract to me, how about it? Of course, I will buy it at your asking price, my company will pay for it.”

“I refuse. It seems that the commerce guild side will issue a formal protest and the contract can be canceled with that, you will also be subjected to their punishment too if that happens. They even told me that I can sue you for the contract fraud if I want to.”

“You won’t do that to me right?…..are you really holding a grudge over our engagement?”

Dahlia lowers her eyes and deeply sighed.

“Rather than our broken engagement, as a magic tools craftsman, I am more disappointed in you for changing the name on the contract. I have always considered you as my [senior apprentice] after all.”

“…….I see, rather than a fiancee but as a [senior apprentice] huh. Certainly, it would be like that with you, I was only a senior apprentice to you from the start after all.”

Tobias looked away and clasped his hand tightly.

“Are you sure you don’t want to sell the contract for me no matter what?”

“Yes.”

“….even if, Orlando company will no longer do any business with you anymore?”

“Yes.”

Dahlia gave her response immediately.

That was what she resolved herself to do from the beginning.

She can search for another company to resupplies her stock, it will be alright if she consulted with the guild to find one.

If that doesn’t work out, I can just start selling to the supplier for the waterproof clothes, I can even sell them the processing method as well.

The profit will be greatly reduced but it is still enough for one person to survive.

As one of the magic tools craftsmen, I can’t back down from something like this.

“Moreover, wouldn’t it cause a problem for your new fiancee if you keep in touch with me?”

I didn’t see her at the office earlier but Tobias’s new fiancee is here.

My true intention was to not meet with both of them together.

“Dahlia…..”

“I’d like to complete the matter about the commerce guild within today.”

Dahlia cut short the conversation and stand up.

Her shoulder-length hair sway in front of Tobias.

To Tobias, the image of that red hair leaving the room was something that no matter how long, he could never get used to it.
