Nevertheless, one day, dark clouds enshrouded that kingdom. What a disaster. The ancient Demon King who should have been sealed five hundred years ago had revived.
Along with the revival of the Demon King, monsters started appearing in various place, performing atrocity everywhere.
Of course, the King sent troops towards the Demon King. However, the result was needless to say. During that five hundred years, the Demon King had been accumulating power even stronger than before, and he generously used that power to easily slaughter all of the brave kingdom’s knights who rose up and went to the Demon Capital.

Thus, despair started to spread out among the people, and around that time, a beam of light from the sky shone on the Capital’s castle.
The light pointed at the thing lying dormant in the innermost part of the castle’s treasure room, the holy sword said to be the one used for sealing the Demon King before.
Thus the King realized. The Goddess that was the guardian deity of the kingdom was showing a ray of hope towards this kingdom. In order to defeat the Demon King, the power of this holy sword was needed once more, thus he realized.

The holy sword glistening with golden radiance could only be unsheathed by the chosen one, in other words, the Hero.
Every young man who went in and out of the Royal Palace tried to pull the holy sword out of its scabbard. However, the holy sword remained sheathed.

As if being glued, the sword perfectly stuck to its scabbard, and no matter by whose hand it was pulled, the sword never let its blade leaving from the scabbard.

When I tried to recite the story in my usual way of talking, in other words, when I tried to do it the noble lady style, it’ll just seem like a fairy tale, a legend, or an epic. But, when it became a reality, it’s simply too disastrous.
Fearing the Demon King’s troops, the kingdom’s political affair has gone unstable, the rotten nobles were either running away to the countryside or buying up goods tremendously that the price of goods rose, increasing the anxiety of the people, public order went worse…the kingdom once fell into a period where even criticizing is troublesome.
Nonetheless, even when we were cornered to that end, it is fortunate that the kingdom has such a capable King.
The King came out with all kinds of possible political measures, and there’s a lot of his trusted retainers that adore him for that, thus allows them to barely maintain the peace in the surface of the kingdom. However, even someone like me, a humble noble lady that lives in the Royal Capital knows, that this situation is just like walking on top of thin ice.
