As she observed that expression on the woman's face, Liz's face hardened as she understood just what kind of impression she had of her.
It was pretty damn apparent, and it didn't need a genius to guess the answer.
Will's mother obviously thought of her as some unworthy skank that had 'trapped' her son.
In other words, she saw Liz in the same way that most of the society had after that article about her being a gold-digger.
Did the fact that this woman was Will's mother change anything?
Hell no.
Liz had always had the policy that she would treat people in the same way that she was treated.
She already knew what kind of treatment she could expect from this woman, so she braced herself, deciding that she would be ready to treat her in the same way after assessing how Will's reaction was.
It would be very interesting to see what he would say.
From his actions yesterday, she could tell that he was definitely on her side.
Yet, to what extent was that true? Was he going to partially take her side and try to reach an amicable agreement? Or would he fully be with Liz?
That…would definitely dictate whether Liz had chosen the right man for her.
Taking a deep breath, she set her face into an expression that clearly signified her mindset: she wasn't going to dish out anything harsh, but if she was provoked, then there would be hell to pay.
It was as if the woman who was walking toward them noticed this, as her expression of disgust deepened.
As soon as she reached them, she addressed Will, saying, "Let go of that hand in such a public place! What if reporters are around? We are the Bradshaws! We-"
At this moment, what Will did would forever be branded into Liz's memory.
He let go of her hand, and for a moment, Liz wondered whether she had been disastrously wrong.
However, in a flash, he caught her waist and pulled her close.
This made the woman's jaw drop and stop whatever she had been saying. Sputtering, she tried to continue, but she could only point at Will and fail in her attempts to regain her calmness.
"Mother, I've already told you this once. You have no right to interfere in my life. You've already done so once, which was when I told you to never repeat it. I guess I should have known that you wouldn't stick to your word."
After hearing this, the woman seemed to finally regain a semblance of sanity.
As she took a deep breath, Liz observed her closely for the first time.
She was wearing a grey dress that reached below her knees, with a set of diamonds that at first glance, looked normal, but from up close, Liz could tell that they seemed to be made up of hundreds of tiny diamonds which would definitely place their value at astronomical heights.
Her skin was smooth despite the clear age that could still be seen due to her eyes, which was obviously the result of many treatments.
She still looked extremely gorgeous, and Liz could tell that she must have been quite the killer beauty in her prime.

All in all, she looked like an older, female version of Will, which was actually quite disconcerting.
Yet, when she spoke, it became clear just how different she was from Will.
"William Bradshaw, don't you take that tone with me! You think you can just pick up some plaything from the streets and give her an executive position! I could tell that you sent that message because you found out that it was I who set her up for failure. Well, of course it was me! If you thought that I would stand by and watch while you disgraced our family name, then you are very wrong!"
Spitting out these words in one breath in a very angry tone, the woman started to take deep breaths while still fuming at Will.
Will, on the other hand, looked like he was watching a broken tape recorder.
"Are you done? If so, follow me."
After saying this in a casual tone, Will started walking toward a conference room while the woman glared at him before following.
Liz had been close to retorting before, but she had held it in, knowing that she would have her chance. First, she wanted to see what her boyfriend would do.
On the way, he smiled at her gently, as if to leave everything up to him.
Well, having someone else fight her battles for her wasn't her style, but Liz obliged for the time being.
They entered an empty conference room, and on the table was placed a folder.
As soon as the woman entered, Will closed the door and waited for her to sit.
It was a small room with a table that could only fit 4, and Will and Liz were sitting on one side while the woman was sitting on the other.
Pushing the folder toward her, Will said, "Sign."
Clearly, the woman hadn't been expecting this.
Raising an eyebrow, she opened the folder and started to go through the documents inside, but with each page she turned, the expression on disbelief on her face seemed to get deeper.
Finally, looking up, she said, "Th-this is preposterous! Why the hell would I sign this?"
Smiling, Will answered in a tone that sounded like it could chew iron.
"If you don't, I will publicize it to the world that you, a woman from the high society, engaged in activities to step down on someone from a simple background because of your feeling of superiority. Even though she was placed in a position she deserved, you sought to have her fired as you thought that she only deserved to stay on the streets. Oh, and I also have a recording of you saying all that. We both know that you didn't say those things about Liz- the recording is from years ago, when you were talking about some maid of ours who tried to blackmail you for something. Mother, this is how much I value Liz. I am ready to do anything for her, and you have made her unhappy through your actions. Now, by signing the order for her permanent job, you will be undoing that, at least a little bit. If you don't want dad to step in, sign. We both know that you don't want that, mother, right?"
