The First Lady was a busy woman, so she didn't stay for long.
She didn't need to, either, as the moment she had gotten off that car alongside Liz, her part of the bargain had already been fulfilled.
Right now, as Liz saw the genially smiling woman interact with the government staff, she couldn't help but think back to their discussion before.
She had entered and introduced herself, following which the First Lady, who was wearing a grey suit with a knee-length skirt, had asked her to leave after saying that she couldn't waste her time with someone who was wet behind her ears.
That was when Liz's bold side had come out, causing her to react in the rudest way possible.
She had remained seated and rattled off the statistics regarding how most of the efforts of the prest government had been eaten away by intermediary officials until nothing had reached the citizens.
One by one, Liz had listed all the failures of the First Lady and her husband, the President, which included drafting and implementing plans that actually ended up making the problem worse.
They hadn't been at fault, in fact. Yet, to them, and to the world, it looked as if they were the sole reason behind the country languishing in poverty.
That was why the President had called them in the first place. And that was what Liz had used to convince the woman to act.
After Liz's long speech, the First Lady had glowered for a few moments, before getting up and walking out the door after instructing Liz to follow her.
Right then and there, Liz had understood it clearly: if she failed after making such bold comments, she would definitely face the combined wrath of the company of the government.
Well, pressure had always been the best thing to push her along.
Now, coming back to the present, Liz watched as the First Lady gave clear instructions regarding the cooperation that should be shone, before nodding at Liz and leaving.
With the government entourage gone, the employees started to go back to their posts, and among these was, of course, Christoff.
Right now, as she watched, the huge man actually tried to hide among those going back.
This made Liz chuckle. She had succeeded, but was she going to leave him so easily?
Not a chance.
Yet, he was prepared now, and he would definitely avoid her if she tried to talk to him.
So, thinking for a bit and springing a plan, Liz turned to Elijah, only to find that the kid wasn't where he had been just a second ago.
A minute later, she found him ordering around a 30-individual strong team of Happle engineers, who all flooded into the huge IT section of the building, to resume the work that had been interrupted before.
In the process, even though they were not executive members of the company, Liz could tell that they must have heard something or the other about her.
That was because they frequently shot looks at her, with some measuring her up, and others betraying the fact that they had had their expectations broken.

They had clearly known who the one behind this whole delay was, and they had been looking forward to some time off while the upper echelons fought between themselves.
Only…this woman had solved everything in the span of an hour.
Thus, as they reassessed her in their minds, Liz couldn't help but smirk, thinking that this just the first of many.
The rest of the day passed with her learning the details of the implementation alongside Elijah, who actually had a talent in explaining things.
He always used the simplest analogies, which allowed Liz to get to the root of the matter, thus equipping her with even more knowledge so that she could better manage this group.
According to him, it wasn't new that someone with a non-technical background was chosen to lead a team of engineers.
So, he had gotten used to being the liaison, who would explain in the best way possible.
Soon, the end of the day approached, and Liz felt exhausted.
Yet, the most fun part of the day was just about to begin.
All through the day, Christoff had effectively avoided Liz.
One time, he had even barricaded himself in the bathroom for an hour, which had been quite funny, as Liz had just happened to be in its vicinity. Clearly, the man didn't want to face her, and he had charged others to tell her where she was.
Indeed, that was Christoff's idea.
Thus, when he finally saw the clock say that it was 5:00 PM, a smile appeared on his face as he quickly checked one last time whether the woman was in his way, before rushing toward the car waiting area to leave home.
Vowing that he would give some excuse and take a break, Christoff waited for the car that would drop him home.
After all, how could he have expected that she would call upon this kind of reinforcements?
If he opposed the First Lady, losing his job would actually be the last of his worries.
She was, in fact, a fearsome woman with collections all over the place. If she wished, she could make a lot of trouble that would see him regretting that he had ever opposed her in the first place.
As for that woman whom he had been charged to threaten, he couldn't care less about her.
It had just been an odd job, and he had taken pleasure in trying to scare her, but he had no intention of facing her, at all, after having himself whipped mercilessly in this way.
He just wouldn't be able to take it, as he was someone who always delighted in having the upper hand.
Finally, the car arrived, and he got on while looking back and making sure that she wasn't anywhere near.
Yes! He was home free!
Once he got home, he wouldn't be returning.
Just as delight flooded through his body, he heard a voice which made him wonder whether he was dreaming.
"Hello, Christoff. Remember me?"
With growing horror, he looked up, only to find the woman whom he had avoided all day sitting in front of him, beside the driver.
The moment their eyes met, she winked, and a cold smile spread across her lips.
In that moment, Christoff felt like jumping off the car without caring that it was going at 40 miles/ hour.
Sadly, that wasn't an option.
His face beginning to burn with shame, he hastily raised his hands and said, "Look, I'm sorry! It was Jonathan! He just asked me to-"
He stopped when he saw her make a cutting motion with her hand, which made him choke on his words.
Why the hell…did she feel so damn oppressive? Almost like a demon who had a vice grip around his throat?
He soon realized that it was her confident attitude, which he wasn't used to seeing in those who opposed him.
No, was it just confidence?
There was something more, but he couldn't place it.
Yet, all that wasn't important, as all he felt right now was panic and…fear.
Yes, fear, for the first time in his life from a woman, which was something he would never forget.
She had the capacity to destroy his life, and she looked like she would enjoy herself while doing it.
Thankfully, after thinking for a moment, she said something which allowed his wildly hammering heart to calm down a little.
"I know it was Jonathan. Now, you're going to tell me everything he told you, and then, you're going to work for me. I got to the First Lady, and believe when I say that the President is a piece of cake, too. You wouldn't want the President cracking down on the illegal smuggling business of your brother, right? If not, do what I say."
What?!
How the hell had she-?!
He couldn't have imagined that his shock would rise to a new level, but it did when he heard this.
As he sputtered while attempting to ask how she had found this out, she just smiled that cold smile again, which made it feel as if his blood was going to freeze, right then and there.
Why…in the hell had he agreed to tussle against this woman in the first place?
Intense regret filling him, Christoff just nodded, his huge body curled up in a position of subservience the likes of which he had never adopted before.
