Lyndon removed his phone from his ears and looked at the screen with a stunned expression. Indeed, the call was from an international number.
"What?" Lyndon could not believe it. He thought that his mother was still in country P, taking care of his father.
"Yes... I'm here... I... I... went back to ask about Leo and just as you said, he changed his name and even altered my son's face... Son... I'm so hurt right now... I manage to escape from the mansion and gone into hiding but please... Help me clarify everything with your brother. Say that it's not you who shot him... Just lie this once... I don't want you to fall out and go to an all out war... He... he stayed so far away from us for so long and I could not afford to lose him like this. I..." Rodora could not help but sob on her grievances. She felt useless as a mother. She could not even save her own sons from warring with each other.
Lyndon became silent as he could not find words to say to his own mother.
He gripped his phone hard until his knuckles turned white to calm himself down.
"Are you safe?" Lyndon asked after a long time.
Rodora sniffed and her voice sounded a little bit hoarse.
"Yes. But I don't know how long I can hide..." that was the ultimate truth. She's just in their house literally and she could be found anytime.
"Don't worry. I'll figure something out..." Lyndon cut the call and called a number from his directory.
Rodora wiped away her tears and back on her normal self. She could not wallow on the pain and fear she's feeling in this moment but find something that could bring her father down.
She long knew that her father was involved in the Underworld dealings and had quite a dirty business.
She also knew about her son's work in the Underworld but kept her mouth shut and just see things on the sidelines.
"Debbie, how long until you can modify the house and rescue the man?" Rodora asked. There was no trace of her weak side from earlier. She sounded so confident and resolute.
"Around 7 minutes." Debbie answered after her miticulous calculation.
"Make it 5 minutes..." Rodora ordered.
"Alright..." then the screen went off.
Another screen went on as Debbie streamed the happenings outside and inside the mansion. She had seen her father's grim expression and was about to pull a trigger towards the guard but then, there was a quake.
The house literally shook as the modification continued. They panicked.
The guards secured the Old Master and exited the house without unnecessary movements.
The guard was left unattended.
They probably thought that the man will be buried under the house as it continued to shake even they were all outside.
They were stunned silly as they could not recognize the house anymore.
No way in hell will they believe that the structure of the house just changed by a mere quake!
"What happened?!" Lance King roared towards the guards.
They all shook their heads as they did not know what happened either.
"Bunch of useless people!!!" he was so angry that his veins popped out on his forehead.
He alighted his car and drove away from the his house which seemed not his house anymore. He had to find out who did it!
The guard that was left all alone inside the interrogating room fell down.
He was scared to death when the floors opened and sucked him alive and fell inside the unending darkness.
He screamed his lungs out but even before he could continue to scream, a loud bang sounded as he crashed on the floor which led him unconscious again.
Rodora approached him with caution but after seeing that the man passed out, he dragged his body towards the central room and tied him to a post.
She proceeded to her work like nothing happened. Now, she's confident that her father could not touch her for a couple of days.
"Well done Debbie." she complemented the AI.
"Thanks Rodora..."
The man was awoken by the two voices and wanted to scream again but his mouth were gagged.
"Mmmmppfffff!!!!" he screamed with his might and it was only then Rodora realized that her future accomplice is already awake.
"Ohhh... Hi there!" Rodora waved like meeting a friend. She even had that carefree smile on her face.
"Mmmpppffff!!!!!!" he said to release him but Rodora did not understand him.
"What? I could not understand you!" Rodora said innocently. The man really wanted to faint from anger but then, he had enough of fainting.
"Ohh... Wait, could you have said to release you?" Rodora acting not to know anything.
The man nodded and almost broke in tears.
Rodora looked at him with suspicion.
"Are you trying to deceive me?" Rodora asked as she squinted her eyes.
The man shook his head to indicate that he's not going to betray her.
Ahhh! Damn this gags! He could not communicate properly.
