His smiling face slowly revealed a scowl.
In truth, Xue Guangxi had been pissed off since early on, when they were still at Sanya airport.

It was actually sort of lucky and providential that Mother Chen's call went through that one night during their vacation. The purpose of his futile efforts was basically to fulfill his daily routine and habitual practice of checking out the daily vlog of Kang Sola every eleven o'clock in the evening. Unfortunately, for days, he was not able to do so. He was inwardly frustrated, but his frustration was manageable, since he could still catch up after the trip.
And so, as soon as they left the place, Xue Guangxi tried and tried to refresh his mobile data, restart his phone, and repeat the process again and again until he was able to reach the internet. They were already at Sanya airport when he was able to successfully secure a connection.
That's when he got pissed off big time.
In one of the videos, Kang Sola who was still in Indonesia at the moment for her internship, had uploaded a vlog wherein she was featuring someone who seemed to be special – a guy. At the end of the video, she made a revelation.
"Solars!" She said in one of her videos. Xue Guangxi was watching it while they were waiting for the boarding gates to open for their flight back to Beijing.
After flaunting the guy, and building up the momentum, Kang Sola went on. "I have something to share with you, guys! …Drum roll please! Hahahaha! I'm actually also excited for this piece of news!! Hehehe! Well…" She trailed off. She was grinning all through out the video, the happiest Xue Guangxi had ever seen her. She was giggling and blushing like the youthful maiden that she was.
"I'm exclusively dating! Yey!" She completed her announcement. It turned out that the guy he had previously introduced during the early part of the video was the one she was seeing. "We're dating!" She added while referring to the guy she's with in the video.
Xue Guangxi tightened his grip on his phone. In his mind he was cursing the guy. 'Who the hell is this guy? He just sprouted out of nowhere yet he was able to get near her, and win her favor, just like that! It should have been me!'
Kang Sola had not been away for too long. The internship was only a year-long, and it hadn't concluded yet. She left around October the previous year, and currently it was May. In the eight months that she was away, she was able to develop some special feelings for a certain guy her age.
'No, she doesn't like him nor love him, no! I won't believe it. She was brainwashed most probably so!' Xue Guangxi was in denial – the first of the five stages of grief. Who knows if Xue Guangxi would actually fall into grief, hopefully not.

More or less, Xue Guangxi's detective skills were on point and after studying her videos this past months, he had shortlisted a few places. To finish it off, he hired the services of a private investigator, rather, a person finding agency, to further go check his short-listed locations and search for her.
The results were timely. He received the report from the agency he hired just recently about where she currently was staying, but never did he plan to go there. But now, the situation was dire. He couldn't sit still in Beijing after knowing that there's this filthy young lad who was this close to her. Who knows what they had been doing intimately, or how far they had gone already? He was actually getting eaten with paranoia.
He couldn't stomach the fact that that guy was holding Kang Sola's hands, and perhaps was doing chores for her like carrying her bag.
