At the Old Xue Mansion one Saturday morning.
The elders and Xue Jinxu, together with Bulter Lee were discussing the results of the investigation about the MT Dragon Heart incident, and Xue Guangxi's abduction.
Butler Lee was reporting the status.
Xue Guangxi was not in the house. It was his scheduled comprehensive exam in his high school so that he could conclude high school, and proceed enrolment to Imperial's local university.
"The boat where the Second Young Master was found was privately owned by a certain Huo Yurou. The police had interrogated him. He said that his boat was rented for a couple of days, but he did not know who rented it. He said he sometimes have his boats rented for additional income. He had a total of three small boats. He's a fisherman. There weren't any documents signed between the two parties involved. It was just a casual transaction. He got paid by cash in advance as well. He even received a huge sum, he said, because the person who rented it had told him that he might not be able to return the boat on time. He paid him a month's worth."
"Mhmm.." Grampa Xue grunted.
Mother Xue, Zhao Feiyan, went frantic. She grabbed her husband's arm, "Did.. Did it mean they really intended to… get rid of my Guangxi?"
Father Xue clasped his wife's hand on her arm. "It seemed so… Don't worry, now… They did not succeed."
"Where's Guangxi, Butler Lee? Has he finished the exam?" Mother Xue verified.
"He's still taking the exam, Madame. There were three bodyguards at his close proximity, and two other sets of five scattered all over the vicinity. The security is tight, Madame. I ensured it myself."
Madame Xue heaved a sigh of relief, however her brows were still furrowed.
"How about the Marketing Director and the niece?" Father Xue inquired.
At the same day of the incident, while we were searching for the Second Young Master, they took a plane ticket to Shanghai. From there we suspect that they boarded a ferry going out of the country." Butler Lee reported.
"Out of the country?!" Father Xue exclaimed. "They were extremely prepared!"
"We still have our own people dispersed in Shanghai for further investigation. They might have changed their identity, but they could not possibly change their appearance for a short period of time. Our people are asking around. Somebody might be able to recognize them."
"Continue with what you're doing, Butler Lee. You're on the right track." Father Xue instructed. "Whatever the results are, don't ever let the boy know of it!" He added.
"Understood, Chairman. While on the topic…" Butler Lee trailed off. "The Second Master had indeed asked about the investigation. It was after the press conference."
"I did not share any news as per your instructions. He did not push any further." Butler Lee reported.
"That's good. Keep it that way. It seems he understands our intention. Good." Father Xue interjected.
"Father, in the event that we found the traitors, what are your plans?" Xue Jinxu inquired. The moment she asked the questions, she regretted asking it. 'Most probably they will get tortured.' She shuddered.
"I haven't thought of that yet, princess." Father Xue said.
'He's lying.' She rolled her eyes. "Father, I can handle it."
"You don't have to involve yourself in it."
"One thing's for sure, once they are found, Guangxi and the girl should not meet at all cost!" Father Xue instructed further.

The elders were high in exaltation as well. Their countenances that were full of darkness just a while ago cleared up. The atmosphere had become so much warmer.
"Of course! He's born for this!" Father Xue owned it. "Hahahaha!"
"This calls for a celebration. The timing is good! Once he gets home we should celebrate with a meal!" She stood up to prepare. "Okay, I'll get going first. There's so much to prepare." She headed out of the study.
Xue Jinxu went on in unfolding more of the details. She went on relaying the recent happenings as vividly as possible.
The father and grandfather nodded their heads approvingly.
'It's just a matter of time, and I might be able to rest… for a bit…' She was looking forward to that idea, to a future when Guangxi would be able to fully take the lead, and her, on the sidelines. Her eyes were sparkling with hope. The future was bright.
They were still chatting lively when Guangxi arrived. They heard the sound of several cars' engines purred then finally died down. He was escorted extravagantly with bodyguards.
Butler Lee excused himself from the study. He went out to meet the security team.
Soon after, Mother Xue called them for a sumptuous lunch.
"Guangxi, dear, we've prepared this banquet for you. This is a celebratory meal on your account, for all your achienvements lately."
"I haven't passed my exams yet. The results were not out yet. What's there to celebrate? My entry to the company?"
"Well, that, and own it, you're going to pass the comprehensive exam! You're going to be a university student in the very near future too."
"Aside from that, you're Jie-jie had relived your magnificent contribution to the company lately. We're all proud of you dear!" She hugged and kissed him on the cheek.
"It's basic, Mother! Hahaha!" Xue Guangxi did not try to be humble at all. It's not everyday that he got praised, might as well indulge himself in it. Quite possibly so, that this might be his only chance to do that.
"Don't be too overconfident, child." Grampa Xue warned. "But, good job."
