"Chu'si it's been so long!" Haru's voice interjected and I pried my eyes away from the snake woman. She was kind of freaky looking, a snakehead connected to a woman's body, that was something that you don't normally see every day.
Shuddering, I look around and notice more variations of snake woman all around me. Thankfully a majority of them had human upper bodies and snake lower bodies, that just somehow made everything less unnerving.
The snake woman walked forward and Haru gave her a small smile, although, it didn't quite reach his eyes all the way.
"Oh if it isn't my annoying friend, it's been far too long since we've been graced with your presence," she hissed out. Cocking her hip to the side almost as if she was trying to entice him. An icy smile takes over his features, but just as fast as it appeared it vanished quickly.
"I'm a busy woman Chu'si, I need two rooms do you have anything available?" He was far cooler than he'd been with the Oldman.
It seemed like he didn't much like this woman, but he'd come here anyway. I didn't dwell on it too much, it was his problem to deal with not mine.
"You're still the same old Haru, why don't I ever get a genuine smile? I've apologized so many times already for what I did to you know who, why can't you forgive me?" She complains, moving closer to his face. Her face was so close her tongue almost flicked out and licked his cheek.
He took a step backward. "The rooms Chu'si," he pushed.
"Fine, I've got two rooms, but are you sure you want two. You've found yourself quite the cutie, don't want to share a room, you know if she frigid in bed, you could always have me," she pressed her boobs to his chest an ran a hand up his arm.
A look of revulsion passed over his face, but her face was tucked in his chest so she didn't seem to notice at all.
I felt a little bit bad for him.
"Chu'si how many times have I told you not to make trouble for the guest, you're supposed to be the owner yet you act like a call girl all the damn time!" A voice roared all of the sudden.
A woman with light blonde hair appeared, her hair was twisted up into a ponytail, and two fluffy fox ears jutted from her head and three tails flicked behind her as she zoomed past me and grabbed the Chu'si by the top of her kimono and wrenched her away from Haru.
Who took a deep breath once she was off of him. A look of relief passed over his features.
"Aw, cherry why you have to go and pull me off him!" Chu'si whined at the woman.
Looking at the blonde woman closer a pair of circular glasses adorned her face, and she had a swath of freckles across her face. She was quite tall, actually towering slightly taller than Haru. Her body was lilith and willowy. She reminded me of a tree, she was steady and warm.
I got a good feeling from her.
"Gosh, always going and making problem's I'm going to put a leash on you," the blonde woman snapped again. Before she turned back toward me and Haru.
"I'm very sorry for our owner's uncivilized manners, please forgive us. If our esteemed guest would be so kind as to follow, Yara will show you to your rooms." She gave a bow and forced Chu'si to do the same.
I could see who wore the pants in that relationship and the snake woman had lost to the fox lady.
Another woman appeared this time she was of the snake variety expect she had the upper body of a human female. Her hair was a light teal and her face was quite pretty.
She gave a bow. "If our esteemed guest would follow us this way," she motioned and then began to slither off.
With a shrug I began to follow her, casting a glance back over my shoulder, I could see the blonde lady continue to scold Chu'si as she dragged her off and out of the main room.
Looks like she'll be busy for a while, that blonde woman was a force to be reckoned with. Humming to myself, I turn my attention back to the snake lady, Yara that we're following. She leads us gracefully to a grand staircase, that was made from redwood.
It seemed most of the Grand Inn was made from the same redwood, they alternated with a warm brown and a lot of silk tapestries to go with it.
We ascended the stairs, leaving the lower level of the Inn behind, we climbed to the third floor that was sparsely populated with people. The people that are roaming around, are all dressed in expensive looking clothing an have a listless expression on their face as if they are in a daze.
Were they drunk?
The floor itself was beautiful, there are lush rugs underneath of our feet, it made me feel a little bad for treading on them with my dirty shoes, but no dirt or blood stains are left as we walk. These must be slightly special.
The walls have pictures of naked woman and men on them, they seem so lifelike as if someone been sucked into the picture and immortalized.
She leads us down the hallway, to two rooms that are right beside each other. "These are the two rooms that we've available, please if there is anything that we can do you don't hesitate to call us, here are your two room keys." She handed the keys to Haru before she gave a bow. "I shall take my leave now," and with that, she slithered off back the way that we'd just came from.
I watched her depart before I look back at Haru. A grim expression was on his face and the air around him was cold and stiff as he watched the woman disappear.
"You've got interesting friends," I say trying to break the awkward feeling in the air.
"She's just a means to an end," he replied coldly. "Here let me give you; your key. I'll be heading back out for a bit I've got some things that I've got to take care of, but you'll be safe here. Just remember not to consume anything that has a lotus flower in it." He told me quickly, I take the key from him.
"Where are you going?" I look up from my hand, but he's already gone. I glance down the hallway to make sure that he isn't behind me, but that wasn't the case. Frowning I slide my key into the door, he was a far cry from when I first met him.
Seems he's far more complicated than I thought, well I might as well just take some time for myself and leave him up to his own devices.
