With a cry, Baron Nashor was killed. After a full 3 minutes, the battle was finally declared over after the Axe cast a final blow to Baron Nashor with his ultimate skill [Culling Blade].

Irina said: [The corrupt twin has lost some of her source data and left this server. Currently, the corrupt twin owns 19% of the source data, and Irina owns 90% of the source data.]

Finally, Ren Suo could lift his hands from the keyboard and mouse. He rubbed his wrists as he heaved a sigh of relief.

Of course, he could not possibly have used the game controller to battle the corrupt twin in the Summoner’s Rift using heroes from DotA—it was not a console game in the first place.

When Ren Suo was chatting with Zhao Huo in the dining hall that day, he vaguely mentioned that the corrupt twin was a boss who could control ‘all heroes, all items, and could not be affected by cooldown periods. Zhao Huo had not played League of Legends before, so he shared his perspective based on the OMG mode (a mode where players could choose the skill combinations of their heroes) in DotA, and gave suggestions about skillset combinations.

It was only then that Ren Suo remembered the MOBA game DotA, which was similar to League of Legends.

After some research, Ren Suo discovered a difference in the ability mechanics between both games–

In League of Legends, there was a skill which granted heroes temporary invincibility for a short duration, but there were no skills which granted heroes Magic Resistance!

Even the Berserker’s ultimate skill was only immune to ‘control effects’, not magic effects. Moreover, even if it were immune to magic effects, there were DotA heroes with skills which ‘ignored Magic Resistance’.

There were skill items like Zhonya’s Hourglass, which could make a hero invincible for a short time, but it would also make the hero unable to attack.

Therefore, Ren Suo based his fight on the chance that the corrupt twin would underestimate her enemy. As long as she did not activate Zhonya’s Hourglass at the beginning and retreat like a tortoise hiding back in its shell, Ren Suo would have the opportunity to not let her do so all the way till the end!

That round, Ren Suo was right!

After all, Ren Suo wanted Irina to absorb the data of the corrupt twin, while the corrupt twin also wanted to take advantage of the geographical advantage in League of Legends to recapture the source data. From the start, when the corrupt twin dictated the position where Irina spawned to be in one of the home bases, it was obvious that the corrupt twin had not given up resisting her.

However, in the game, Zhonya’s Hourglass had the highest priority in terms of invincibility effects, while the effect of ignoring Magic Resistance was of second priority, and Magic Resistance was third. All other effects were of lower priority.

Although the corrupt twin could leverage on the power of all the items and heroes in League of Legends props, she would end up being depleted of health by the various types of skills from DotA, if she did not enter a state of invincibility at the first possible instance. Moreover, she did not even equip herself with Magic Resistance.

[Ice Blast] invalidated all of her healing and recovery effects;

[Global Silence] prevented her from casting any skills;

[Doom] prevented her from using any items;

[Berserker’s Call] prevented her from escaping…

Coupled with the two equipped [Dispersion] (which reflected 44% of the damage it received) at all times, as well as the constantly activated [Black King Bar], Mercurial was constantly immune to magic damage. There was nowhere for Baron Nashor to escape to and neither could it revive or heal effectively. As such, no matter how much Baron Nashor’s HP was buffed and maximized with items, it was unable to deal any damage to Mercurial. It could essentially only await its demise.

Of course, the reason why Ren Suo could use the complete set of skill items from DotA to battle the corrupt twin was because he used his voice to get Irina to help him replace his equipment and skills throughout the battle.

“I should prepare to leave… Eh?”

Ren Suo saw 10 heroes suddenly appear on the screen in his view. They were the players from both teams in the game.

“Are they intending to fight?” Ren Suo asked to himself, slightly stunned.

However, several messages popped up on the chat:

[Bro, are you selling the hack? I’ll buy it regardless of the price!]

[Bro, I want to learn the hack too!]

[This is the first time meeting Golden Great Luo Immortal. Can immortals change the appearance of the heroes as well?]

When Ren Suo saw the messages in the chat, he did not know whether to laugh or cry—they actually thought that his battle with Baron Nashor was a war between two hackers.

Nonetheless, it was true that if Irina and the corrupt twin were regarded as humans, they would indeed be the most powerful hackers in the world. They were able to make use of Reiki energy to ignore differences between data and consequently apply data effects (special skill effects) in any environment.

In reality, it would almost be equivalent to placing a seal in Lianjiang City, where the average temperature was 30°C. The seal would thrive as it busked under the sun every day, and would even be able to capture and feed on a penguin from the underground sewers of Lianjiang City with a tap on the ground.

Anyone who had some knowledge of computers would know just how absurd what Irina could do.

Ren Suo pondered for a moment and replied: [This hack is not for sale and is only for testing purposes.]

The red team players replied: [Are you really not selling it? Will 10 thousand dollars seal the deal? I just want to have some fun.]

Wow, what a wealthy player! However, Ren Suo did not have anything to sell even if he wanted to. He shook his head and controlled Irina to leave the server.

“Continue searching for the corrupt twin.”

Irina replied: [The estimated search time is 10 hours.]

Ren Suo had already anticipated that since the corrupt twin only had 19% of the source data left. Moreover, based on his experience, he knew that the corrupt twin, like Irina, was not dumb. She would definitely try to hide herself and wait for the right opportunity to rise again.

Taking advantage of the free time, Ren Suo first Practiced at home for an hour while wearing the Hat. He then searched on the Internet, and sure enough, he found a video titled “Mercurial takes on Baron Nashor in a grand battle”—the ten players were really quick to upload the video.

Nevertheless, the response to the video was unlike the previous few times. After all, League of Legends had a player base far exceeding that of the previous games, so the video was gradually becoming viral.

However, only a few people in the bullet comments and the comments section believed that the video was true. Many of the viewers were influenced by the first few bullet comments which attributed the events in the video to ‘technical skills’, and were led to believe that a hacker had modified the models of the heroes to produce such effects.

Some players of League of Legends liked to download homemade DIY skin packs which would only be displayed on the player’s own computer. There would be no changes to the hero from the perspective of other players. Although not many people play in such a way, it could indeed explain why Mercurial appeared in Summoner’s Rift.

It could even explain why Mercurial could use skills from DotA—if the models of the heroes could be modified, could their skills not be changed?

Nonetheless, there were still many people who expressed admiration: [It would definitely have required a lot of effort to achieve these effects.], [Can someone make a DotA version of LOL?], [I want to fight such a Great Dragon.]…

A small grin emerged on Ren Suo’s face as he read the comments. It was no wonder that someone would make game cheats; such a thrill of ‘possessing what others do not’ and ‘possessing much better versions of what others possess’ could indeed make people want to do it again.

Nonetheless, Ren Suo quickly calmed himself down and finished writing the “9th Situation Report on Game Intrusion”. He then submitted it to the intranet database.

The status of his first eight reports of game intrusions was still tagged [Suspicious] and was yet to be verified.

Ren Suo thought, ‘It seems that even if a level 1 researcher submits so many reports, they would not be reviewed timely…’

“Must I still wait for ‘Naisser Ren’ to upload a video to prove my ‘farsightedness’… However, the game experience of ‘Endless Intrusion’ took place in sync with reality. Would ‘Naisser Ren’ still upload a video of it?”

It was useless to think about such questions, and rather than thinking about whether ‘Naisser Ren’ would post a video, Ren Suo was more curious and concerned about why “Endless Intrusion” and “Passing Hats” were in-sync with reality.

At that juncture, Ren Suo again recalled the advice that the official Naisser Ren gave him.

“Before being promoted to a level 4 player, I should save up as many merit points as possible… Could it be that I would learn more about the Mini Worlds game console after becoming a level 4 player?”

Ren Suo has an inexplicable sense of expectation: Although the Mini Worlds game console did not intentionally make it known, it had implied through various aspects and to varying degrees that level 4 players were more esteemed than level 1, 2, and 3 players. Whether it was purchasing player privileges or special services, level 4 players were strong and stood at the top of the ‘chain of contempt’.

“Through the days and nights, as I tear the heavens apart ~”

Ren Suo answered the call on his mobile phone and asked, “Mom, what’s up?”

“The results for the college entrance examination have been announced today!” his mother said cheerfully. She continued, “To celebrate the occasion, we would be having braised prawns, crabs, Buddha Jumps Over the Wall (steamed abalone with shark’s fin and fish maw), fermented black beans steamed with clams…”

Those were all of Ren Suo’s favorite dishes. He swallowed his saliva and quickly changed the topic, “How did Sister do in the exam?”

“She scored 91 points higher than the minimum admission score for the key top-tier universities!” Ren Suo’s mother replied.

“What the hell!” a shocked Ren Suo exclaimed. His sister’s score was much better than his, which barely met the minimum admission score for the key top-tier universities.

With her score, she would be able to enroll herself in the vast majority of key universities in the nation. If she was lucky, it is not impossible for her to study at Tianjing University as well!

Ren Suo remarked, “Your daughter achieved excellent results!”

His mother replied, “Your sister did a good job, too.”

“No, no, it’s your cute and beautiful daughter who also attained good results in the college entrance examination and would be loved by everyone,” Ren Suo said.

“Well, isn’t your sister also very obedient and intelligent too? She is such a sweet talker too; everyone likes her so much,” his mother added.

Ren Suo could hear the voice of his embarrassed yet exasperated sister intermittently through the phone. She said, “Mom, Bro, stop it, man!”

“Haha,” Ren Suo laughed. Taking advantage of the joking atmosphere, Ren Suo wiped the saliva from the corners of his mouth and asked, “In that case, should Mom pack some prawn and crabs and mail them to me?”

Ren Suo’s mother’s voice changed in the blink of an eye. She said, “There would definitely not be any leftovers, you should just give up all hope on that. Also, what about our daughter-in-law? We have waited for half a month and she has not shown up! How could you still want to eat the food?”

Eh?

Ren Suo somehow felt that recently, other people had been saying things that he could not understand.

However, his mother changed the topic the next moment, saying, “After we checked the results today, someone called us in the afternoon and said he was calling from the Education Bureau of Lianjiang. He said that your sister could be directly accepted into the Practitioner University of the nation if she wanted to and that she would not need to go through the process of filling up her choices for university applications in that case.”

“Practitioner University?” Ren Suo asked. He said, “The current Practitioner University is Tianjing Institution, is it not?”

“No,” his mother replied. She said, “They said that there would be a few new universities for Practitioners opening in the next few months, and my precious darling would be able to choose among them.”

“That’s also why I specially called to ask you. Do you have any news about this?” his mother asked.

Ren Suo replied, “I don’t have any information about that now, but I will ask around these few days… Nonetheless, since she can attend a Practitioner University, she should naturally do so.”

“In today’s context, no other majors can match the popular specialization of ‘cultivation’. At the least, when she graduates, she would be able to work as a civil servant and sit around to wait for death like me.”

Ren Suo’s mother suddenly lowered her voice and asked, “Would it be… dangerous? Son, you chose your path, but your dad and I sometimes worry about you so much that we cannot sleep well at night.”

Ren Suo was stunned.

The next moment, however, he smiled slightly.

As if he was making a promise to his mother, and as if he was encouraging himself, he said, “As long as I am alive, I would not let you, Dad, or Sister be harmed.”
