“My Lady, what do you want me for?” asked Dr. Luo. He rushed over after he was told Miss Qingyi wasn’t feeling well. He realized that she must have something to tell him instead of feeling unwell herself. According to Miss Qingyi, too many people fixed their eyes on her and she would ask to see him with such an excuse.

“Dr. Luo, please be seated. I hear your families are under the control of Concubine Yun. Is that true?” asked Ye Qingyi calmly. This was the real reason she wanted to see Dr. Luo. When someone was threatened with his families, he would be as powerless as a trapped tiger, however ambitious he was.

“Yes, My Lady, you’re right,” replied Dr. Luo. What a shame that someone else decided if his families could live instead of himself! And he had to work for that person!

HUMILIATNG!

“Don’t worry, Dr. Luo,” said Ye Qingyi, “I will have your wife saved and she will live in my private mansion. But she has to cook for people who also live there. What do you think?”

What she said pleased Dr. Luo, without doubt. But he also worried, “Will Miss Qingyi also threaten me with my families?”

He knew Miss Qingyi, but when it came to his families, he couldn’t help having concern.

“I know what you’re worried about,” explained Ye Qingyi, “I’m not as cruel as Concubine Yun. Do you dare to gamble?” Clearly, she knew what concerned Dr. Luo, and she wasn’t sure what a person she would be in the future. This time, it depended on whether Dr. Luo dared to make a huge gamble.

“I’d like to!” replied Dr. Luo after a few seconds’ consideration. Anyway, he had to choose a master, and it was only a matter of time. Too much was involved, thought. He wasn’t a good judge, but Miss Qingyi was a real talent. If he worked for her, he would live a carefree life, even if there wasn’t great wealth.

But a woman like Concubine Yun would certainly abandon him after using him. “Why don’t I gamble this time?” thought he, “If I win, my family will live a peaceful life. Even if I lose, I’ll just die early.”

“Okay,” said Ye Qingyi, “At eleven tonight, I’ll have your wife and son saved and sent to my private mansion. After I help Ye Hongling get what she wants, I’ll set you free. By then, you can decide if you go or stay.”

Ye Qingyi put her mind at ease when Dr. Luo made his final decision. Things would be better, then. “Ye Hongling, your wonderful life is coming to an end. I’ll let you enjoy it for the moment,” she thought.

At night, with the address given by Dr. Luo, Ye Qingyi broken into the house where Mrs. Luo was locked up, followed by Hua Yue and Xueqing. Surprisingly, so many guards were there, watching over Mrs. Luo and her son. Seemed like Concubine Luo would kill them in case of any problem.

As they broke in, the killers rushed out. There were more than ten of them! Concubine Yun was rich! She always said she was poor, but managed to hire so many killers, just to lock up a lady and a boy!

“Who are you?” asked one killer.

Ye Qingyi and her subordinates wore night clothes and they were masked. Specially, each of them wore a dark grey silk ribbon around the wrist. This silk ribbon was soaked in some potion Ye Qingyi had especially mixed.

That was, as a matter of matter, hypnotic potion she developed. In a fight, whoever smelled it would fall into a coma when only a slight effort was needed.

As expected, the killers passed out before they even knew what was happening. Ye Qingyi stared. “The potion doesn’t work perfectly,” she thought, “I should have soaked it for a longer time.”

“My Lady, let’s get in,” said Hua Yue.

While they were fighting desperately, people in the room were in sound sleep. Ye Qingyi fought with the killers, just because she wanted to draw out all the guards. Xueqing, on the command of Ye Qingyi, had knocked out everyone in the room with the psychedelic powder. None would wake up, even if there was explosion out there.

Mrs. Luo and her son were unexpectedly heavy. Luckily, Ye Qingyi had prepared a cart near the house. Xueqing rode the horse and drove them to Ye Qingyi’s private mansion in the suburbs.

Ye Qingyi, on the other way, went back to General’s Mansion alone, hid her night clothes and fell asleep.

In the meanwhile, Concubine Yun was having a wonderful dream in which she was blowing Ye Qingyi hard! She lashed her with a horsewhip again and again. That felt great!

She never knew that Mrs. Luo and her son were taken away while they were the only threat on Dr. Luo.

Early next morning, Concubine Yun was woken up by noise when her maid knocked at the door, saying someone wanted to see her. The anger filled her when her dream was interrupted. Upset though she was, she still asked her maid to bring the man in.

As soon as the man stepped in her room, Concubine Yun realized something wrong. She asked her maid to leave them.

“What do you come for?” asked her.

This man was Ming, one of the killers she sent to guard Mrs. Luo.

“Sorry, Ma’am. We fail,” replied Ming.

“What happened?” asked Concubine Yun. Fail? What happened to Mrs. Luo, she wondered.

“Last night, some people broke in and knocked us out. They took away Mrs. Luo and her son,” explained Ming.

“What?!”

Concubine Yun was shocked! A dozen guards failed to keep a woman and her son?! LOSERS!

“I spend so much money hiring such losers!” she thought.

“Did you see their faces?” asked she.

“They were masked, and I didn’t see their faces. They used some strange martial marts, too,” replied Ming, “They can be killers from other country, I guess.”

“Nonsense! Why would killers from another country kill the families of a mere doctor?” replied Concubine Yun, “Losers!”

She was filled with indignation. “Could Dr. Luo save his families?” she wondered to herself, “When there was a chance to kill Ye Qingyi, Dr. Luo didn’t do it and he declined many times. That was suspicious!”

“All right, you may leave,” she said to Ming, “Don’t come here again unless there’s something urgent.”

She took out a pouch of silver and gave it to Ming. The latter weighted it and said thank you before he left.

At this moment, Concubine Yun no longer wanted to recall her wonderful. Instead, she must figure out who took away Mr. Luo’s families. And she needed to know if they still survived. She wouldn’t calm down unless she knew the truth.

“Somebody! Go get Dr. Luo to me! Hurry!” ordered she.

She would try to find it out from Dr. Luo.
