Caitley escaped quickly. Li Yi’s SPD was already really fast, and yet he could only catch a very brief glimpse of its receding figure before it disappeared out of sight.
The depths of Wailing Grotto were intersected with various passages. Li Yi placed Magical Road Sign on the ground as he ran. This was to prevent anyone following behind him from getting lost. After all, not everyone has an SPD as fast as him.
He did not even have the time to remove the Little Fire Elemental Monsters he encountered on the way. He merely sprinted past them and let them chase after him. Once the numbers started to get overwhelming, Li Yi released Mutated Small Wild Boar to execute an ultimate suicidal skill to kill them all off.
This game of cat and mouse went on for half an hour until Caitley reached a red cave.
Li Yi stopped in front of the cave.
The entrance to the cave was a magical gate. The ripples swirled around the gate, sizzling every now and then.
Li Yi summoned Violent Bear King and ordered it to move ahead.
“Wham!”
Violent Bear King was flung away the moment it came into contact with the magical gate. Its HP had been reduced by half. Its entire body was stuck to the wall opposite of the gate for a long time before sliding down slowly…
“F*ck me, what the hell?”
It was then Jiaojiao ran over carrying her greatsword over her back. She was so exhausted she could not even straighten her back.
This Lord Disaster was one of a kind. Its ATK would only grow with its experience in battle. It was the same with its appearance—the higher its ATK was, the bigger its size and carrying capacity would grow.
There was no restriction when it came to the weapons one could wield in King of Pantheon. Any kind of weapons could be used and by any class. For example, a Priest could use a knife, sword or any kind of weapons for close-range combat and still would be able to unleash healing skills.
However, the effect would be less than satisfactory. That was because a Priest has a very low carrying capacity. Once they were equipped with a knife, sword or any close-range weapon, their casting and SPD would decrease by 300%-500%. Wielding a weapon might look good on you, but it was not the least bit practical…
An Archer class could be equipped with two-handed weapons, but their capability of handling such a heavy-weight weapon could not be compared to a Black Paladin. If Li Yi were to wield Jiaojiao’s greatsword, he would probably have a hard time walking.
Lord Disaster grew bigger in size until it came close to exceeding Jiaojiao’s carrying capacity. Fortunately, this Legendary-level weapon’s weight expansion was really precise. It had exercised perfect control by always making sure that its weight remained within a person’s carrying capacity.
Li Yi shook his head. “Magical gate, I can’t get through.”
“Let me try.”
Jiaojiao stabbed Lord Disaster into the magical gate.

The magical gate rippled. Lord Disaster had indeed penetrated the gate, but although the sword could go through it, Jiaojiao cannot. Before the hilt of the sword went through it, a great force repelled Jiaojiao away from the gate. Luckily, Li Yi was ready to break her fall at the back and caught her in his arms.
Jiaojiao was puzzled. “How do we get past this gate?”
“Let’s search around. There should be some switch. If we find it, we’ll be able to access.”
Li Yi quickly came up with an idea based on his understanding of King of Pantheon.
There were two passages on both sides of the magical gate. Li Yi ruminated on it and told Jiaojiao, “You take the left passage and I’ll take the right. Don’t go far and keep in contact.”

The two set off into the passageways. Once they tread inside, Pretty Good Mood, Little Elf from the Magical Realm and the others arrived at the magical gate.
Scarab King was once again summoned by Pretty Good Mood. Its HP bar was still slowly recovering.

Pretty Good Mood and its party did not have the best of luck. They had just arrived at the gate when the magical gate shot out three green rays that had wound around them before they even know what was going on.
At the flash of light, the green smoke rose and drained their HP until the trio collapsed…

There was a rumbling noise, and the magical gate disappeared.

Pretty Good Mood lay on the ground, looking utterly defeated.
Li Yi was stunned to see Pretty Good Mood dead on the ground when he returned, but he promptly took out Cardiac Pacemaker Model V5 and placed it on Little Elf from the Magical Realm’s chest.

Li Yi’s Cardiac Pacemaker Model V5 has always been peculiar. It never worked on men but success was practically guaranteed when it came to electrocuting women. Of course, if the subject was Autumn Love, then the result would be unpredictable. Basically, any woman he electrocuted would be revived except for Black Autumn.
Little Elf from the Magical Realm twirled her piccolo while Pretty Good Mood stood up as well. Although a Sky Vagabond was not proficient in regular resurrection spells, they were skilled in Battle Resurrect. It was an immediate resurrection with no incantation needed. The only flaw was that it could only be used once every half an hour.
Little Elf from the Magical Realm said, “Pale Blue, you don’t need to run. I’ll Battle Resurrect you after a while.”
Jiaojiao has returned by now. She gave Li Yi the victory hand gesture.
The two had earlier reached the end of the passages and found a switch. When the they flicked the switches at the same time, the magical gate was opened.
The magic force that had slithered through the opened gate was what had caused Pretty Good Mood and his company to die so innocently.
Li Yi walked through the gate without giving any instructions.

Darkness swarmed before his eyes. He thought he heard the wind whispering in his ears. Li Yi found himself standing in a scarlet cave when this strange phenomenon faded away. The stones were red. The walls were red as well. He could see lava bubbling below him.
Five seconds later, Jiaojiao was teleported here.
Pretty Good Mood walked into the passage, but he was not teleported to where Li Yi was.
Those who did not accept the Hall of Fame quest would not end up here.

Jiaojiao narrowed her eyes. “The reward should be good for this sort of dungeon, right?”
“It’s hard to say. A single-use Instance Dungeon like this acts only as a filler for the plot of the story. The reward should worth nothing much.”

Emperor Lan had always been secretive with his whereabouts. The majority of his time was spent exploring the Northern Continent. It was not easy for the Southern Continent players to locate him for quests. The Southern Continent players had held a protest against the issue before, but they were given a jaw-dropping answer by the officials.
That had happened because it was crucial to the development of Pantheon World…
“Augustus, Emperor Lan, you two have been at it for several thousand years. Shouldn’t you guys be over it already?” Caitley stroked the shiny bracelet on her wrist and sighed.
Emperor Lan laughed dryly. “You don’t need to tell us that, Caitley. If you don’t wish to get involved, then butt out!”
Augustus burst into laughter. “I see that you’re still so crude to women. Emperor Lan, you’re the only living God-Chastised Paladin left in this world. Hehehe, you don’t live up to the its name.”
“Augustus, cut to the crap and attack.”
A huge bloody cross formed on top of Emperor Lan’s head. This was the symbol of the God-Chastised Paladin.
“I’m not interested in picking a fight with you. We’re both about the same level as the other. Even if we were to go at it for days and months, we won’t be able to tell who’s the winner. Let’s just go rock, paper, scissors. The winner gets to enter while the loser leaves.”
“Rock, paper, scissors? Are you kidding me?”
“Who’s kidding now? Rock, paper, scissors is way better than us fighting continuously for half a month. If you really want that thing, it’s best for you to comply.”
Emperor Lan was quiet for a moment before he nodded his consent.
The two Camp Heroes had their hands behind their backs and shouted to the count of three before showing their hands.
Augustus’ fist formed a rock while Emperor Lan gave paper.
“Hahahahaha, Augustus, you lost! You lost!”
Emperor Lan was overjoyed. He ran straight into Wailing Grotto and disappeared in a blink of an eye.
“Caitley, let’s go in.”
Augustus waved his hand at Caitley and walked into the grotto.
Caitley shook her head. “Emperor Lan’s fooled again.”
Winners would gain entry while losers had to scram. Augustus had lost, and yet he was about going in.
Augustus said with a smile, “If I won, Emperor Lan would just leave, never to come here.”
“One’s character decides one’s fate…”
“I thought the wind guides the way? Caitley, I haven’t seen you in so many year. Your boobs looked like they have grown bigger.” Augustus was making clicking sounds with his tongue.
Caitley did not say a thing.
The Camp Heroes made their way into Wailing Grotto one by one. This entire scene was witnessed by Li Yi and Jiaojiao.
Li Yi and Jiaojiao was in the state of wandering souls. They could see everything but could not change a thing about it.
Just as Li Yi predicted, Vengeful Flames Instance Dungeon was built as a filler for the plot.
“I don’t get it,” Jiaojiao said.

Wailing Grotto’s tunnels had underwent a lot of transformation should one compared them to what they were a thousand years before. If they did not keep up with Augustus, they would not know the way.

The noises of battle could be heard in the distance. The passageways quivered with the rumbling noise.
“Emperor Lan is fighting Wicked Flaming Dragon!”
Augustus and Caitley exchanged a glance before rushing forward.
