A Paladin NPC stood at the entrance of the metal fortress, and when they entered the fortress, the NPC accompanied them to explain the history of Ancient Civilization Ruins.
The current state that Ancient Civilization Ruins was in was due to a curse that was cast by the gods. It used to be the most prosperous region within King of Pantheon, and it was here that science and technology had reached its apex. So much so that their discoveries were considered to tread in the realm of the Gods.
According to the legend, the modern-day Dwarves were a product of evolution from the ancient citizens of Lanluo (Lanluonese). It also mentioned that the leader of the Lanluonese was someone named Yuge and that his name was cursed by the Gods.
Under the leadership of the King of Lanluo, Yuge, their civilization flourished. Many artificial lifeforms had been created, which enraged the Gods residing in Mount Pantheon.
Creating life had always been a divine right, and the act of creating life was deemed as a challenge to the pride of the Gods.
Thus, the Gods rained down their wrath. They cursed the Lanluonese, destroyed all their artifacts and sealed the region away, preventing anything from ever coming near it.
Eons passed, and the Cursing Sect arrived. Using the might of the Evil God, they broke the seal that was placed onto the region and awoke the vengeful spirit of King Yuge slumbering within it.
The King of Souls that wandered in the skies of Dragonbone Waste was actually King Yuge.
Although Yuge was long dead, his soul had been modified with their advanced technology, and as such, he had become an inextinguishable presence. It was for this reason that the gods were forced to seal him away.
The main reason the Cursing Sect had invaded the ruins was to get their hands on the technology that the Lanluonese possessed to bring back the Evil God that was banished to the Extradimension. However, during their excursion, they had accidentally broken Lord Yuge’s seal, which resulted in a horrendous turn of events.
Fortunately, nothing in this world is perfect, and neither was King Yuge. Though his spirit was nigh invincible, he could not wander too far from his flesh. It was for this reason that he only appeared within Dragonbone Waste and did not seek his revenge on the Gods.
During their search for Yuge’s corpse, Pope Shirui and Great Lord Moigne were captured, and thus concludes this piece of the lore of Glory. The main takeaway from it was that the players needed to find Shirui and Moigne and rescue them.
After passing through the metal fortress, the Paladin NPC that was guiding the players stopped, and ended his explanation.

Li Yi and his party were situated inside a tube-shaped pathway, and in front of them lay a metal stronghold. Furthermore, the monsters that appeared were no longer mechanical lifeforms and were instead humanoid lifeforms that were composed of light.
There were white raymen, gold raymen, green raymen, blue raymen, and various others, and they were all composed of light. These were the next monsters that Li Yi and his party needed to face. They were spirits that had been modified by the Lanluonese’s superior technology.
These raymen used to be actual, living humans, but after being modified by Yuge, they discarded their frail bodies and turned into their current form.
“We are advanced lifeforms. We will not grow old, we will not die, and we will always be here… even if…the world is destroyed!”
“Lord Yuge has blessed us with immortality. For that, we will protect and be loyal to him for all eternity!”
The cold, lifeless voices of the raymen echoed through the pathway. These amalgamations of light and soul were no longer considered human.
Tombstones were littered under the raymen, and words like ‘R.I.P’ were inscribed on them in a twisted and crooked manner. They were the traces that were left by players who had died.
There were more than a thousand tombstones, and nearly all the players who had left Li Yi’s party had lost their lives here.
Confused Fox inquired, “So what’s the plan?”
Many of them had lost their confidence when they saw the tombstones that were sprawled under the wandering raymen.
They fixated their gazes onto Li Yi and were eagerly awaiting his answer.

Li Yi brought out his Orange Quality Bow and drove his party away. He then used ‘Mislead’ on Unending Unmatched, shot an arrow, and Pseudocided onto the ground.
“Who dares to interrupt Lord Yuge’s rest? Die!”

Li Yi used Pseudocide and had collapsed onto the ground. Had it been a normal monster, it would have come rushing over alone. However, the raymen were not normal monsters, and when they attacked, they shouted out a battle cry. This would alert the neighboring raymen, which will cause several hundreds of them to come rushing forward. Furthermore, they would fire their laser beams before they even came anywhere close to the players.
Even the tough Unending Unmatched had fallen within mere seconds. He had already activated Shield Wall and had healers supporting him, but still, it was not enough…
This was only the beginning of their massacre. The raymen made a beeline forward, and their laser beams were terrifyingly powerful. The minimum damage they dealt was 10,000, and if it was a critical strike, it could easily reach 30,000 damage.
How could the party fend off against an assault from several hundred raymen? It did not help that they were in a tube-shape passage and had nowhere to hide.
431 players comprised the Iron Alliance’s party, and 15 seconds later, the only survivor was Li Yi who had used Pseudocide…
The location Li Yi had positioned his Pseudocide was extremely appropriate. Since it was not in the middle of the pathway, none of the raymen touched his body when they ran past, and thus, his Pseudocide was never dispelled.

Many had already resurrected by using Holy Light Amulet, but when they heard Li Yi’s words, they died again in disbelief.
