The 38th stage Li Yi and the others encountered was a lava stage. As soon as they arrived, they saw waves of lava and Superior Fire Elves darting about everywhere. It was a downright mess.
Since it was all random, several tower floors would be created at the same time. While Li Yi and the others bumped into the lava stage for their 38th floor1, other players may encounter something else.
Each stage was like a world in itself. Although the floors were the same number, these worlds were not connected.
Coincidentally, while Dark God Empyrean South and God of Massacre with a Thousand Faces, Jiggly, we’re trying to avoid The Cat that Sings, the two of them were lucky enough to find the teleportation door not long after Li Yi led his team to the 38th floor. As a result, the two were lucky enough to enter the lava stage and lucky enough to see Sister Cat.
Empyrean South and Jiggly tried to run, but The Cat that Sings immediately let loose her verbal cannon.
“You two motherf*ckers, where do you think you’re going? Get your sorry *sses back here!”

Jiggly shook his head and sighed. “I predicted how it would start, but I didn’t know it would end like this.”

The wraith stage was extraordinarily difficult. There was only one path to get to the next floor, so if anyone took one wrong step and was caught by the horde of wraiths, all they could do then was wait for death.
When Li Yi arrived at the wraith stage, he was just in time to see Brother Windcloud Nine giving it a try with his party. When the twenty-five members of the party stepped onto the graveyard pathway, countless wraiths appeared and attacked them wildly.
The wraiths moved very quickly, and even a Cyclone Thief with Cyclone Step could only outrun them for a little while. The other classes kept suffering their scratches every so often, resulting in the decrease in their health.
Sister Windcloud Nine was in the party too. Her expression was filled with resolvem and while she ran very clumsily, she did quite well nevertheless. For one, she knew to hide in the middle of the party to avoid the wraiths’ attacks.
However, when she accidentally turned around, seeing Jiaojiao and Li Yi, her natural airheadedness showed through again.
“Lil Jiao, Lil Qian, I’m here~”
