“Wow, everybody had shown their hands so quickly.”

Black Rock and Subjugator were drinking booze in a bar in Savis Town while looking at the ever-changing rankings on the Leaderboard.

“The competition is getting more intense than I expected. There are 23… or shit, 24 people who have over 200,000 points. There’s a new one rising up from the Demon Faction…”

Hearing this, Subjugator glanced at the Leaderboard and saw a familiar name. “Rock, let’s head in right there. If not, those darn Demon Faction bastards would start their condescending bickering again.”

“Tsk…”

Black Rock threw him a glare.

“Don’t you have patience? There haven’t been many real masters coming up yet… what are you so anxious about?” Despite his words, Black Rock’s eyes were also locked firmly on the Leaderboard. It was apparent that he too was feeling anxious.

200,000 points.

There were already twenty people reaching this much of a score and this was before the Veteran Champions even acted yet…

“God damn it… since when this many had the ability to defeat Tier 6 Mega Bosses?”

Black Rock quietly grumbled.

At first, he was quite happy to see more and more capable players rising up after being encouraged by Xin Yu’s inspiring feat.

Yet, in just half an hour there were already twenty four people getting this many points. Even if he rushed now into the Mythical Mirage and acquired 200,000 points, he might not be able to squeeze into the top 20.

Shit!

How discouraging!

Black Rock was confident that he could take on a Tier 6 Mega Boss. Yet, to be able to defeat it and acquire tens of thousand more in score would be very difficult for him.

Black Rock felt that, as more and more nameless champions rose up, a “Gravity Field Champion” like him might not be able to rise up to be in the top hundred.

Subjugator looked at Black Rock and said, “Fine! You stay here and watch patiently. I’m not going to just sit here and watch though. That Wandering Soul kid has already gotten 200,000 points. I will just go and do more research… if I can’t even get into the top hundred, it would be too embarrassing for me to remain a Field Commander in the Fallen Angels.”

Not giving Black Rock a chance to respond, Subjugator seemingly disappeared from his seat.

“Fuck!”

Black Rock looked at the empty bar dejectedly and couldn’t help but to feel some disdain for Subjugator. It was Subjugator that invited him to get some booze together and yet, he was also the first that ran out.

Turning back and staring at his half-filled glass, Black Rock fell silent.

For now, there were only two members of Fallen Angels that got on the highest ranks on the Leaderboard—Xin Yu and Wandering Soul. There was no one else that showed up on the board.

Nonetheless, he had faith that Qin Ruo and Homme Fatale would get to the top sooner or later.

These two were extremely strong so there shouldn’t be much to worry about. If their names were not showing up yet, it must mean that they were still doing research on the Mythical Mirage like the other Veteran Champions.

However…

If the Top One League “Fallen Angels” couldn’t get more people up on the highest ranks on the Leaderboard, it would be quite an embarrassment for them.

“I wonder how Dinosaurcerer and Slayer’s Heart are doing at the moment…” These two were strong enough to break through the top ten thousands’ threshold. The former possessed enough Mana Cores to summon a legion of monsters. His combat prowess was incomparable to any mere player. As for the latter, he possessed formidable strength himself. Other than that, he also owned a pet that was quite powerful too. Topped with the “Ring of Vengeance” that Qin Ruo gave him, Slayer’s Heart could definitely slay a Tier 6 Mega Boss alone quite easily… even Slayer’s Heart himself said that it wouldn’t be a problem for him to do that.

Additionally, the Fallen Angels had Remorseless Warrior on their side too.

However…

Something was still missing.

If they could get more than ten members to enter the top hundred, the Fallen Angels would have proven their worth by being the best League in the Mythical Continent. Qin Ruo, Homme Fatale, Slayer’s Heart, Dinosaurcerer, Remorseless Warrior and him… there were only six of them. As for Wandering Soul and Xin Yu… he wasn’t sure if they could grow quickly enough and fill the spots. Even if they could, they were still two members short.

“So be it, if we’ve only got eight then eight it is. If we can get one-tenth of the prize, it would already be an honor!” Black Rock sighed and gulped down all the booze in his glass. Then, he leapt out of his seat and vanished in the air.

***

Whoosh Whoosh!

Over hundreds of scales darted in the air and pierced the ocean. The fourteen Shadow Soldier Ants couldn’t hold off for even 5 seconds and all of them were slashed to pieces by the Deathscale Pangolins.

However, they had successfully lured these Pangolins away as Qin Ruo instructed.

In just 5 seconds…

Qin Ruo, who had his Liquid Form activated, was able to stealthily slay several Deathscale Pangolins under the Jebel Pangolin’s nose. As for the other seventy Deathscale Pangolins, due to them being overly focused in pursuing the Shadow Soldier Ants, they were all engulfed by the ocean’s massive tidal waves.

This was the most successful assault that Qin Ruo had ever pulled!

Covered by Poochie, a wave of Frost Arrows darted out of the massive tidal waves. After a round of excruciating wailing and loud splashes of water, half of the surviving Deathscale Pangolins fell lifelessly into the water. This attack was, in a way, to avenge the loyal Shadow Soldier Ants.

The Jebel Pangolin was enraged!

At first, its Blackscale Pangolins were all eliminated. Now, seeing almost all of its Deathscale Pangolins being slaughtered, the Tier 5 Overlord Boss couldn’t hold his despair back anymore and rushed towards the ocean.

Ignoring the increasing seawater around its chest, Jebel Pangolin kept pressing on to pursue Qin Ruo. Waving its arms, it hurled out wave after wave of powerful attacks towards Qin Ruo, dispersing the water away.

However, Qin Ruo was able to dissolve several attacks with some support from Poochie. He slowly backed away, making it clear that he wanted to lure the Boss into the ocean.

Yet, despite being enraged, the Jebel Pangolin wasn’t foolish enough to jump into the water right away—it would have been suicidal if it did so.

After pausing momentarily, Jebel Pangolin turned and roared at the remaining wounded Deathscale Pangolins, hoping to bring them back to the shore to retreat from this damned human Aquamancer’s turf.

“Oh, leaving so soon?”

Qin Ruo, hovering over the ocean, was quite pleased with the defeat of the pangolins. As he saw the Boss was preparing to move back to the shore, Qin Ruo laid his eyes on an area ahead.

***

Splash!!

As the massive tidal wave overlapped one another, a ghastly silhouette appeared out of nowhere, ramming the tidal waves to the side. In a mere instant, it had dashed towards the Jebel Pangolin, having it locked on as a target, and swinging three dark shadowy slashes onto its weak spot.

Elite Skeletal Wraith has landed its attacks!

Jebel Pangolin’s defense is ignored and sustains 1982 damage!

Jebel Pangolin’s defense is ignored and sustains 1982 damage!

Jebel Pangolin’s defense is ignored and sustains 1982 damage!

Jebel Pangolin is now poisoned! It will sustain 200 points of poison damage for 30 seconds!

Crashh!!!

As soon as Elite Skeletal Wraith succeeded, a powerful tidal wave suddenly swept up ten meters away from Qin Ruo, blinding the Deathscale Pangolins’ sight.

However, this didn’t lower the Deathscale Pangolins’ guard; and as soon as they saw a violet silhouette within the tidal wave, they immediately launched a wave of black blade-like scales at it.

However, their attacks weren’t as effective as they had hoped…

All of their scales landed on an Amethyst Shield!

A second later, a fierce-looking Amethyst Orc dashed out of the ocean waves, carrying the Amethyst Shield in its arm. Even though the Deathscale Pangolins’ physical attacks were powerful, these would only work well against frail opponents, like an Elementalist. However, to the beefy Amethyst Orc, enduring these darting blade-like scales were nothing but a scratch. They weren’t strong enough to penetrate its Amethyst Shield at all!

After breaking through the enemy’s formation, the Amethyst Orc swiftly swung three mighty slashes at five Deathscale Pangolins which stood next to it with its sharp Amethyst Blade.

The attacks from the Tier 5 Miniboss weren’t all that deadly to these Tier 6 monsters. Yet, they were still obscenely strong. After sustaining the attacks, the Deathscale Pangolins let out excruciating shrieks as they dropped into the ocean.

The other Deathscale Pangolins were intimidated by the Minibosses and, without waiting for the Jebel Pangolin’s instructions, dashed towards the Amethyst Orc and the Elite Skeletal Wraith.

The Jebel Pangolin was quite infuriated at the fact that it was wounded by a lowly specter.

This was unheard of before!

Roar!!

As payback for poisoning it, the Jebel Pangolin hurled a powerful punch at the Elite Skeletal Wraith, sending it flying a dozen meters away. The latter was stunned for about 5 seconds.

Although the Jebel Pangolin had gotten its payback, its Deathscale Pangolin army though, was not as fortunate. As they were limping back to the shore, Qin Ruo swiftly glided over with his Angelic Wings and cast a wave of Frost Arrows!

When the Jebel Pangolin pulled itself back together, its underlings had been all but eliminated. Corpses of pangolins could be seen lying everywhere on the beach and drifting away in the sea. The only ones left standing were the Amethyst Orc, the Jebel Pangolin, Qin Ruo and the Elite Skeletal Wraith.

A few minutes ago, Qin Ruo was facing off hundreds and hundreds of pangolins…

Now, however, the tables had turned. This time, it was the Jebel Pangolin fighting Qin Ruo, Amethyst Orc, Elite Skeletal Wraith, and Shadowfox alone.

Watching it slowly backing away towards the shore, it was apparent that Jebel Pangolin was at an extremely disadvantageous position…

The Amethyst Orc possessed powerful melee attacks.

The Elite Skeletal Wraith possessed cunning stealth attacks.

Other than that, there were also Qin Ruo’s powerful Magic Attacks, Freezing abilities, and the Shadowfox’s excellent defensive skills.

Facing this team… the Jebel Pangolin was certainly doomed!
