Xiang Wan felt her ears slightly warm and she was a little angry. She felt her body hot and cold like fire and ice.

Xiang Wan’s face was now flushed red but Bai Muchuan raised his eyebrow as if it was nothing of concern. He let go of her and used an arm to support himself, getting up from the ground together with Xiang Wan slowly.
“From the way I see, you are unable to leave me.”
“…” Xiang Wan rebutted coldly, “Can you stop flattering yourself?”
Bai Muchuan grunted a laugh, “Can you stop treating your life savior in this way?”

In just one night, she had two life saviors.
“Thank you so much!” Xiang Wan bowed seriously at him to express her thanks. “Is this alright?”
“Yes, I’m a magnanimous person anyway,” Bai Muchuan said lazily, “Let’s go, I’ll send you back!”
Xiang Wan wanted to reject instinctively but before she could say it, she saw that Bai Muchuan’s arm and knee cap, meaning his sleeves and trousers, were grazed quite badly. “You’re hurt?” she asked.

“Want to go to the hospital?”
“No! It’s a waste of public resources to treat such minor wounds.”
“Clinic?”
“No! It’s only some minor wounds. I don’t want to get laughed at.”

He was her savior after all. She slowed down and was gentler with him.
“Is it painful?”
Bai Muchuan looked at her and shook his head.

She turned to look for a pair of scissors while Bai Muchuan’s gaze followed her when he suddenly heaved a sigh.

Eh? Xiang Wan turned around, her black eyes seemed to light up with curiosity.
Bai Muchuan’s gaze was fixed on her face for some time before he opened his mouth to speak. “I was scared. Xie Wanwan had nearly died. I started to worry that someone might deal with you instead. So I refused to let you handle and participate in the investigation of the case. I even distanced myself from you… and I thought by doing so, you’ll be safe…”
His voice was low and pleasant to the ear, as if he was whispering in her ear, full of emotions.
Xiang Wan’s body quivered and stared at him for a long time.
“So, you did all these because of me?” she asked.
Bai Muchuan narrowed his eyes. “So, how are you going to repay me?”
