About forty baby photos were posted on the sidewall and underneath the frames, there were names cursively written. Estimating how old the photos were, Mia felt a tingling sensation on her heart. The hope was still there although she felt a bit down earlier on when they found out the orphanage had long gone. Luckily there were subtle traces left behind in that empty house that could help her search. Now her spirit had recovered and slowly she trailed one by one the names hoping she would found hers. Sarah... Jessica... Joseph... Emily... Alexander...

Once she reached the last name, she looked again her name among those but her effort didn't harvest any fruits. Not satisfied with the fact that her name wasn't there, she took out her photo when she was a baby that she found in the wooden box belonged to her adopted mother, Lucy and compared it with the photos on the wall carefully. From the most features that assembled hers to the least, she kept on analysed those pictures hoping that she could find another useful clue but only disappointment she got.

"There must be something here. I can't leave with an empty hand" Her mental sought her out of despair and with an affirmation, she walked away from the wall and stood at the other end of the hallways that connected her to another turn to her right.

KRACK!!

Something heavy hit her head from the ceiling and loud crack was heard as the thing made contact on her. She tried to balance her body from falling down to the ground but the pain was too much for her to bear. She felt her body slowly burned into ashes as time passed by. She shut her eyes tightly as to endure the immense exhaustion. Oblivious to herself, there was a pool of blood surrounding the area where her head was lying. Gradually over time, her consciousness started to sway but the pain kept her awake.

Rain... Rain.. Go away...

Come again another day...

Mia wants to play...

Rain... Rain.. Go away...

Strangely, she heard a group of voices sung the familiar nursery rhyme and those whispers were clearly audible to her ears. Was she hallucinating since she was at the brink of death right now? Those voices sounded cheerful and she could imagine that a group of children holding hands as they moved in a circle while singing together. Somehow, it soothed the jolting sharp pokes on her head. The pain slowly faded away and her breathing started to stabilise. She was no longer desperately gasped for air, unlike her earlier condition. The serenity finally came to her, washing away the agony.

--- Mansion West Wing ---

All the news station had been busy reporting the divorce news of the CEO of Scorpion Group and here in the huge private living room, two gentlemen were enjoying themselves, laughing at how the media reporters desperately tried to get hold of any members of O'Ryan for the exclusive interviews relating the divorce news. Nowadays, West City had becoming more boring with no hot scandals being reported by the media so when the opportunity struck, they became like a pack of hungry wolves, hunting for that piece of gossip by any means.

"Tsk... tsk... tsk... It seems that they are already out of moves. Playing with them feels like playing with toddlers. No fun at all."

"Play with toddlers is not as easy as it seems. You have to waste a lot of energy on them to make them exhausted. If you can't keep up with their energy level, you'll be the one who is defeated."

"I heard that their ex-daughter in law came to you voluntarily. Is she seeking your help for revenge since she has been kicked out from that family?"

"Maybe yes.... maybe no... but as of now, she's busy looking for her biological family."

"Oh! That's why you send your people investigating the orphanage at the South West Land."

Noah let out a soft chuckle seeing how this friend of him trying to beat around the bush.

"Isn't that the reason why you're here, Nick?" Noah could guess why Nick made a sudden visit to his mansion today. Nick was one of the underground lackeys that he grew up with. Although they were quite close to each other, both of them were still a bit cautious when criticising each other's style of handling matters on hand.

"Since you're aware of it, then I no need to further pursuade you on this matter right? The underground people at the South West Land are making noise about this. You know, the elders didn't like being investigated by the young generation like us. They are proud people."

"Then, I have to trouble you on this matter. They won't be so fussy if you do the digging."

"South West Land is different from other regions. The elders there are very conservative when talking about their past because of the humiliation and mistreatment they got in the past. That witness that you found may not be a reliable one. Probably they want to shut down this investigation fast so they just made up a story. But since this is one of the rare personal requests from you, then I guarantee you that you'll be receiving only the good news."

Noah slightly bowed his head to Nick as a show of gratitude for such guarantee given. He believed in Nick considering their close relationship for the past years. They were like sworn brothers, helping each other when in need.
