She made a trip to her parents' grave and took the chance to clean up the place. She swept the dry leaves aside and put fresh flowers in front of the tombstones. It had been such a long time she visited them. Because of the extreme sadness she felt in her heart , she refused to make any further contact with her late foster parents including visiting their graves and returning home. She was afraid that she would fell into another round of grief if she came here. It took her so much effort to recover from the lost she had three years ago.

"Father … Mother …

I've decided to look for them but I don't know what's the end result would be. I'm not as confident and strong as both of you think all this while. Because I know how much you've sacrificed for me hence I never complained anything to both of you. I really love father and mother very much and even if I meet my biological parents afterwards , they will never replace your position in my heart."

Sadness gushed over her as she conversed with her parents. Until now, it was really hard for her to accept the fate that her parents had died. In her eyes, both of them were still alive and how vivid their sound of voices in her ears.

" Mia... " A soft woman voice came from behind caused a trembled in her heart upon her name being called.

"Mother …" She turned around looking for the source of the sound. The voice was very similar to her mother's but in vain , it turned out to be middle aged lady in white long dress. She looked very elegantly with her hair down to her shoulders.

"I'm sorry .. you know me ?" Mia didn't recognize this lady who probably was around her mother's age too. She had never encounter this lady before this even during her parents' times.

The lady just smiled and pulled Mia closer to her. She wrapped her arms around Mia very tightly.

"How can I not know you? Although I only saw you from your pictures , I still can recognize your face even when you grew up."

Her answer surprised Mia so much. How did this lady knew her? Who was she?

"Come follow me. My house is just near here. I have something to give to you. I've searched for you for such a long time but only today , I bump into you here. Finally , you've come."

The lady just pulled her along and Mia was dumbfounded with this lady's sudden action. Hence she just trailed behind the lady and luckily not far from the grave site, they arrived to a single house. The house looked similiar to her parents' home but much bigger in size. Even the decorations had a similar taste. She guessed every house in this area had the same style.

The lady lead her to the living room and motioned her to sit on the sofa before she went away and brought back with her a box. The lady then sat besides Mia as she looked directly into Mia's eyes with an obvious excitement.

"Here , this wooden box belongs to your mother. Your mother once lived with me before they got married and moved into a new home. Luckily they managed to find suitable house for you at the other side of this small city."

She took the small medium sized wooden brown box to her laps and observed it carefully. It was just a plain box. Nothing special about it. There was a padlock attached to it and the lock looked very rusty.

"Your mother left this box long time ago. When you're a still a baby and now you've grown up into such a fine lady. I bet she's very happy and proud of you just like when she had you twenty years ago."

Mia felt shy as she thought that this aunt was just exaggerating or maybe want to comfort the sadness in her heart.

"Why don't Aunt Su just keep it on behalf of my mother? She left it with you and I believe she wants you to keep it for her."

"Your mother probably has forgotten about this when she was still alive. My bad. After I moved to main city and was so busy with works , hence I don't have the chance to visit your parents. Now , when they're already gone , only then I have free time. Such a waste!"

Aunt Su looked so disappointed but what could she do now? She didn't have the power to turn back time. People who had gone would never come back alive and the one who were still living needed to carry on their lives as usual although the pain of losing someone very dear to their heart was so unbearable.

She was very close with Mia's parents. In fact she was the one who introduced both of Mia's parents to each other before they got married. Aunt Su was her father's childhood friend meanwhile she met her mother at her first editorial company she worked as a newbie writer there. At that time , her mother got a job as an editor's assistant and Aunt Su was managed under her mother's supervision. Now she came back to this old and isolated city as a retired writer.

"I bet mother understood your circumstances so she didn't keep any hard feelings against you." This around , Mia comforted Aunt Su seeing how devastated she was.

"I hope so. I owe so much to your mother and now I wish to repay her by watching over you on behalf of her. But seeing how good you've grown up , I don't think I'm able to do much for her." Aunt Su watched Mia dearly while stroking Mia's hair from the side few times. She too looked so proud of Mia.

"Aunt Su , do you know what's inside of this? Is it something valuable?"

"I'm not sure about that. I've never opened it up. I just found the box when I cleaned the room your mother had used in the past days ago. But I couldn't any key to the padlock. Let me find something we can use to open the box together."

"Do you have any paper clip?"

"Oh! I think I have. Wait a second. Let me look for it."

Mia just nodded her head waiting for Aunt Su to come back. Since Mia was not familiar with this house , better she sat there quietly not touching anything here and be a nice guest. Not long after Aunt Su went to search the paper clips , she came back to Mia's side with the said item on her hand. Mia was quite experienced in this task. She had used paper clips many times to open up a locked padlock in the past. So with one try , she successfully unlock it.
