I don’t have any good impression of Chen Yao, so it didn’t matter how good the music in the MP3 player sounded. I sneered: “This sounds horrible. I’d rather die than listen to any more.”

“Ah, I’ll download some children’s songs for you.” Chen Yao thought I didn’t like listening to popular songs.

“You’re the one who likes listening to children’s songs!” I angrily said.

“C’mon, there’s nothing to feel embarrassed about liking children’s music. I still like watching cartoons. My favorites are Crayon Shinchan and some other ones.” Chen Yao opened his white computer that was resting on a table.

He moved around until a small box appeared on the screen. In it, an auntie and an uncle appeared who weren’t wearing clothes and yelling.

My eyes lit up: “Wow, you have a dual cultivation secret technique here!”

Chen Yao rushed to pull the plug on the power and looked at me in embarrassment. “Yesterday a friend came over and used my computer. A small child shouldn’t look at this type of stuff.”

“What type of rare thing is this supposed to be anyways? With a single glance, I could tell this isn’t some type of high class secret technique,” I said with disdain.

Teacher Lin opened the door and walked in: “What secret?”

“Uh, YangYang was just asking me if I had any secrets for the college entrance exams, and I told him there isn’t any secret besides hard work. YangYang didn’t believe me.” Chen Yao was afraid I’d let something leak, so he grabbed my cheek and kept shaking me. If Teacher Lin wasn’t right next to me, I could’ve easily grabbed Chen Yao’s hand, and thrown him out the room. Instead,  I reluctantly just forced open Chen Yao’s hand.

“YangYang are you hungry? How about I take you out to eat something?” Teacher Lin asked with concern.

“Already, it’s decided that I’ll be treating you. Otherwise, Lin Jing, aren’t you looking down on me?” Chen Yao said with feigned displeasure.

Teacher Lin felt a bit embarrassed. “Then let’s go together. YangYang will have to trouble you for a while.”

“What trouble? Just having me living in the dorm alone would be lonely. Having someone to accompany me is a blessing.” Chen Yao laughed.

“What do you mean you are alone? Didn’t you say that last night you had a friend over who came to watch…” before I was halfway through what I was saying, I was once again interrupted by Chen Yao.

“Yeah, last night a classmate came over to hang out for a while. Then he left. During the night, it’s just me.” Chen Yao was afraid that I would secretly tell Teacher Lin about what had happened.

After he said this, Chen Yao unplugged the MP3 player from the computer, and handed it to me. “I’ve downloaded some new songs for you. Little kids like you have different tastes from us. Songs that sound good to me might sound bad to your ears.”

“I don’t want it.” I resolutely pushed it away.

“Chen Yao, this is too expensive. Don’t give it to YangYang to play it with, it’d be bad if he lost it.” Teacher Lin said.

“How is it that expensive? Maybe when it came out it was extremely expensive, but it’s been slowly getting cheaper. Maybe in the future, it’ll get even cheaper.” Chen Yao straightforwardly said.

“I don’t want it.” I directly refused Chen Yao’s gift. Us people from the countryside recognize a hard truth. People’s words may be soft, but their hands are short. I don’t believe that pies will simply fall from the sky.

Teacher Lin quickly responded: “Chen Yao, YangYang is still a child, it’s not appropriate for him to receive such an expensive item.”

Once Chen Yao heard Teacher Lin say this, he immediately took back the MP3 player.

Chen Yao took us off campus to an elegantly decorated restaurant while he said, “This restaurant isn’t bad.  I came here with the boss (Graduate Instructor) and some brothers and sisters from our department. The taste of the food is pretty good. I think it’s quite suitable for you.”

“It’s fine to just eat a casual meal, no need to be so extravagant.” Teacher Lin had a complicated expression on her face.

“No worries, it’s just for today. It’s Yangyang’s first time coming to the city, so we have to celebrate. In the future, eating anywhere would be fine. In fact, I prefer eating and drinking at the larger food stalls.” Chen Yao said.

It’s the first time I’ve come to such an extravagant place to eat.

However, my mind was not flustered. On the contrary, it was very calm. My mental capacity was not comparable to other children. Even compared to an adult like Chen Yao, it wasn’t lacking.

Chen Yao, who had assumed that I would be blown away, was surprised: “YangYang have you eaten at a hotel before?”

I shook my head: “Bajiao Mountain doesn’t have any hotels.”

Teacher Lin furrowed her eyebrows, “YangYang, I still have a lot of things to do these days, so I have no way to bring you to places to play. What do you want to do?”

“No problem, it’ll be fine if I just go alone. I’ll just be walking around in the nearby neighborhood.” I replied.

“That’s not ok, this isn’t your village. In a city as big as this, if you get lost, then you won’t be able to find your way back.” Teacher Lin said.

“Relax although Jincheng is large, it’s unable to defeat me.” I can feel the Heaven and Earth qi, so regardless of where I go, it’s hard for me to lose my way. Furthermore, I have a very strong memory. Anywhere I’ve even visited once is imprinted in my mind.

Teacher Lin still strongly opposed this. “No, for these first two days you should familiarize yourself with the school.”

By the time we’d finished eating, it was no longer early. Teacher Lin was worried that I was exhausted from being on the bus all day, so she sent me to Chen Yao’s dorm to sleep.

“In the morning, I’ll come over to pick you up to go eat breakfast. You’ve had a tiring day today, so sleep well. Teacher Lin didn’t leave until I got into bed.

Chen Yao immediately left to send her off, then walked back with a deep sigh.

“YangYang, do you know what type of guy your sister is into?” Chen Yao straightened his head and looked towards me.

“Do you need to ask, of course she likes men like me. Don’t bother having the idea of hitting on Teacher Lin. Teacher Lin promised me that she would wait for me to grow up, then she’ll marry me.” I said with confidence.

Chen Yao mockingly smiled, “Forget about it. By the time you’ve grown up, Teacher Lin will be old. YangYang, call me brother-in-law, and brother-in-law will buy you plenty of toys.”

I suddenly felt infuriated. I rolled off the bed while wearing a small pair of trousers and pointed my finger towards Chen Yao saying: “Chen Yao, I’ll fuck your mother! You want to be my brother-in-law? If it wasn’t for Teacher Lin, I would’ve killed you already!”

“Huh? You’re still a brat, but are cursing at others? Looks like I need to punish you!” Chen Yao was getting ready to grab and spank me.

The moment Chen Yao walked up, he wasn’t able to grab me. Instead, he was pulled over by me, onto the bed. I then jumped up and landed on Chen Yao’s butt.

“What!” Chen Yao let out a scream.

Half an hour later, Chen Yao formally surrendered, however during this hour, his face suffered many wounds.

In particular, he now had panda eyes, but I was perfectly fine.

“Call me master!” I said, pulling Chen Yao’s ear.

“Master.” Chen Yao dishearteningly called me. My hand was too powerful in that the fist was incomparably hard and specifically aimed at his two eyes.

“In the future, Teacher Lin will be your sister-in-law. Don’t even think about it.” I laughed and clapped my hands.
