Ijey just had to cross over before her best friend disappeared again.
The road was busy since it was a busy business part of town. She couldn't easily get to the car, that would be a waste of time. So she hurried to cross the road over to Ayannas side, amidst all the hooting of cars. Then she was directly in front of Ayanna and just stared at her.
"OMG Ijey!!!" She exclaims. " Where the heck have you been?" She asks as she jumped on her and twirled her round and round in a very tight hug.
'Babes eh!, you look stunning oo. Oh, so hoot. How come you got such a beautiful make over and you didn't take me, your bestie along?'
Ijey said, still hugging Ayanna. "Babes, na long story o."
"Come sit, let's talk. I will arrange tea for us. I was having lunch with my colleagues across the street when I sighted you sis."
They sat down and while they waited for their tea, Ayanna tried to bring her friend up to speed on some things that happened to her. As Ayanna started speaking to Ijey, Ijey couldn't help but wonder at the transformation in Ayanna.
True she was a very beautiful girl before now with her oval face, curves, eyes like that of a bird and long lashes. When she smiles, oh my, no matter how angry you are with her, your breath will be taken away. Her hair was jet black and almost waist length though she was chubby. But now, she was like a super model with all the curves in the right places. Ijey couldn't imagine how her friend got so sophisticated.
The two friends has always made an impressive impression on people, especially those meeting them for the first time because Ijey was just as pretty even more for a female. They were both tall.
Ijey had dreamy eyes, black curly hair, and a dazzling smile. They met in their high school and became friends fast. They even decided to go to same university and study same course as both were interested in construction Engineering; and luckily they both got admitted to same university to study Engineering. Those were the fun days as Ayanna escaped from the drama at the home front.
"Ijey, stop staring at me like that. Forget what you are seeing now. I went through an experience worse than that of Alice in wonder land to get to where I am today. I died twice, babes."
