Chapter 3.2 - Rang Yi Rang (2)

Wen Shaoqing achieved his aim and said in a low voice: "Rang Yi Rang, Rang Yi Rang.(Excuse me/ Give way in Chinese)"

Cong Rong moved even closer to the lift wall, shouting at him: "How the hell do I give him way?!"

Wen Shaoqing looked up at her, seeing her funny expression. He was finally satisfied and motioned the furry white hair creature to go to him, stooping and rubbing its head and explained: "I didn't mean to ask you to give way. I'm calling him. Let me introduce him to you officially. His name is Rang Yi Rang(Excuse me/ Give way in Chinese), and his nickname Gun (Get loss in Chinese)."

"..." Cong Rong rolled her eyes quietly. Will a person in their right minds give their pets such weird names? But the big dog rubbed his head against Wen Shaoqing with excitement when he heard his name.

Wen Shaoqing didn't plan to stop it there, "Give him a handshake and get to know each other."

Cong Rong looked carefully, the Samoyed, smart, well-behaved, though its lips formed a smiling line naturally, she still felt scared. She bent slightly and examined his face. It looked cute and kind, and wondered if, under that angel face, it has a devil's heart". She couldn't help raising her eyes and took a glimpse of Wen Shaoqing, and came to the conclusion that the pet is influenced by its owner. A good-looking, smiling face but mischievous at heart.

The smiling angel smiled and stretched his front paws to wait. Cong Rong looked at it for a long time. She finally overcame the fear at the bottom of her heart and slowly reached out and gently held it. Let the front paws evacuate quickly.

After a few minutes, the two of them sat on a bench in the neighbourhood.

Wen Shaoqing bent over slightly to caress its hair, and the big dog put out his tongue and looked comfortable, it suddenly turned to look at Cong Rong.

Cong Rong immediately stiffened, and moved again away from it.

Wen Shaoqing chuckled, "Are you really so afraid of dogs?"

Cong Rong has always been scared of long-haired animals and nodded.

Wen Shaoqing stared at her for a few seconds, making Cong Rong wonder if he managed to figure out the thoughts buried in her heart. He commented all of a sudden, "I haven't seen you for a few years, your hair has grown."

Cong Rong turned to look at Wen Shaoqing. What a weird comment. Does he mean that she also belonged to the species of long-haired animals?

Wen Shaoqing was puzzled by her thorough gaze and raised his eyebrows. Cong Rong felt that she was too sensitive and tried to relax. She felt that those simple words made them feel like old friends who haven't seen each other in a long time. Her heart warmed and her tone softened. "My mother won't let me cut my hair so short, so every time when my school starts every semester, I will get a haircut. When the semester ends and I return home, my parents will not realise the change as my hair will grow out by then. When you met me for the first time, it wasn’t long after school started, therefore I had short hair."

After she finished, she quickly swept Wen Shaoqing, "You are also a lot fairer."

Wen Shaoqing laughed self-deprecatingly, "I've been stuck in the hospital all day, that’s probably why."

Cong Rong smiled when she heard it, his eyes were clear and bright and they glowed under the light. Wen Shaoqing looked at her and stopped talking.

She doesn't know why. When she pretended not to know him, she was always worried about meeting him. When she finally didn't have to pretend, she realised how harmonious their reunion was.

For a while, Wen Shaoqing broke the silence.

"Lawyer Cong, I have a professional question to consult you."

Cong Rong jokes, "My consultation fee is a bit expensive."

Wen Shaoqing smiled and asked lightly: "Should the abscond of crimes be punished more severely by law?"

Cong Rong’s heart jumped, hesitating for a long time: "Fleeing from a crime, means that the criminal suspect, after committing a crime, fears to be investigated for criminal responsibility, and is afraid to be punished by sanctions, and escapes from the legal investigation. According to China's current Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure According to the relevant provisions of the Law, abstinence from fear of crime will not increase the period of imprisonment, because after a criminal suspect commits a crime, absconding from the law will lead him to escape and its humanity. Therefore, abstinence from fear of crime cannot be used as a condition for aggravating criminal punishment. If you surrender yourself, the law stipulates that you will be relieved or exempted from criminal punishment. It is not a sentencing case, except for those who continue to commit crimes during absconding. Generally, there is no basis for sentencing or heavier punishment. The punishment for lighter crimes can even be exempted."

Wen Shaoqing listened to her with a serious look but his eyes flickered, and captured the silver lining between what she said, "Humanity? Take the initiative to surrender?"

Cong Rong reminded him, "Just now...in the lift..."

The behavior in the lift as "surrendering" is slightly far-fetched, but she did have a "good attitude"?

Wen Shaoqing didn't seem to want a debate, he glanced at her with a smile, said: "Sure enough, professional people are better at doing professional things."

Cong Rong looked at his smile and felt uneasy, she really did not know how that farce she caused a few years back ended. Who did Wen Shaoqing’s “heard” about her “confession”? Did he and Lin Chen stop being friends because of her? The thoughts hidden in her heart for so many years were finally spoked. Rather than being uneasy about it, on the contrary, she actually felt relieved after being “sentenced”.

However, in just a few seconds, Cong Rong suddenly began to consider another question, "The place you are staying now...the unit opposite mine, did you rent it or buy it?"

Wen Shaoqing did not answer the question: "Are you renting or buying?"

"I bought it."

Wen Shaoqing smiled slightly, "Such a coincidence, so did I."

Cong Rong let out a wail in her heart, and her last hope was shattered as Wen Shaoqing smiled.

If Wen Shaoqing is renting it, she can still hope and pray he will move away, but now that they both have a house there and will see each other so very often, when will this awkwardness ever end?!
