Shangguan Ning pushed the coffee towards him and said in a jovial tone “You will know after you try it.”
Seeing her expression, Jing Yichen’s heart shivered. He accepted the mug and took a sip from it.
The taste was smooth, fragrant and pure – it was top-notch Blue Mountain Coffee.
His eyes sparkled and he said in a tone of appreciation, “Very good!”
He wasn’t a man who could be easily pleased, and a “very good” coming from him was a rare occurrence.
“Of course. I am skillful in coffee making.” said Shangguan Ning with a smile on her face. She didn’t spare any efforts in praising herself.
“Your husband will be blessed.” This woman made terrible food but wonderful coffee. Jing Yichen drank up the coffee with pleasure and then tried to wrap his arms around her slender waist.
Shangguan Ning dodged him by stepping backwards, not allowing him to touch her whilst still smiling brightly. “Alright, time to go home. You are the only one left at work in the entire building, President, Sir!”
Jing Yichen leaned forward and cornered her until she had nowhere else to retreat. Then he took her into his arms, gently.
His heart felt somehow secure with this beautiful lady in his arms.
Her lips shone temptingly under the light. They were fresh and plump, making her look so desirable that he wanted to kiss her.
Jing Yichen bent his head and intended to do just that.
Shangguan Ning tilted her head subconsciously so that the kiss fell upon her jade-like white face instead.
She gave Jing Yichen a push in annoyance, but failed.
Jing Yichen looked down at the woman in his arms, and swept his fingers across her lips and asked, “Annoyed?”
Shangguan Ning moved his roving hand and looked at him. She feigned ignorance and asked in a nonchalant voice, ” For what?”
Seeing that she wanted to get rid of his arms, Jing Yichen nailed her against the wall and asked in a teasing tone, “Then why have you been pranking me for the entire week?”
Their bodies were leaning tightly into each other, so much so that they could hear the sound of the other’s heartbeat.
Shangguan Ning panicked. She blushed.
“Shameless you are, let go of me…”
“I can be even more shameless. Wanna try? He asked seductively, as his mouth flicked and nibbled on her exquisite earlobe.
Shangguan Ning felt as if she was hit by thunder. A feeling of numbness instantly spread across her entire body from their point of contact .Her knees weakened and she found herself leaning against Jing Yichen’s arms, feebly.
On this dark night, the air in the office of the President was charged with warmth and sexual tension.
It was only after a while that Shangguan Ning was able to push Jing Yichen away with all her strength. She snatched her handbag and turned around, her cheeks flushing.
But someone was faster than her and picked her up in his arms.
Shangguan Ning struggled both annoyedly and shyly. “Let go of me, I can walk by myself!”
“Don’t you want to know who the girl on the painting is?” Jing Yichen held her tightly so she couldn’t struggle any more as he presented her with a tempting offer, one which she was unable to turn down.
Of course Shangguan Ning wanted to know the answer!
She had her arms around Jing Yichen’s neck unhappily and thought angrily – okay, just let him take advantage of the situation. He was so good-looking anyway and she was not losing anything either. It indeed was a win – win.
Jing Yichen smiled to himself when he saw her obeying him.
With her in his arms, Jing Yichen took the elevator to the car park. Jing Yichen didn’t mention anything about the girl, until they entered the car.
Shangguan Ning pinched Jing Yichen’s waist and said mockingly. “I didn’t expect you to have another woman in your heart. That too such a young girl.”
She sounded quite bitter and jealous, which pleased Jing Yichen.
“Sigh…. now I understand why the soup and coffee that I have been drinking tasted so sour. It seems that someone is jealous!” He teased as he sped towards Landscape Compound in the car.
Jing Yichen dragged Shangguan Ning to the painting room as soon as they arrived home.
He unveiled the drawing board, exposing the portrait of the girl as he said lightly, “I always thought that she had died. But she is still alive, unexpectedly.”
This single sentence gripped Shangguan Ning’s heart.
Jing Yichen took down the painting and held it with several other sketches, took out a lighter and set them on fire.
Seeing that Shangguan Ning intended to stop him but didn’t, Jing Yichen said, “I thought she had died. That was why I painted her so that I won’t forget what she looks like. I was scared that I wouldn’t recognize her in case I found her. But now that she is still alive,there is no need to keep these paintings any more. I sought her for ten years and finally, I found her.”
Shangguan Ning asked involuntarily seeing the sadness in his eyes. “Your first girlfriend?”
She didn’t even realize that her tone seemed stinging, exposing the displeasure in her heart.
Jing Yichen put the painting into the huge crystal ashtray and let it burn . Then he lifted his hands and tucked Shangguan Ning’s hair from her temples to the back of her ears.
He said seriously, “My first girlfriend is standing right in front of me, looking at me with stinging eyes. My first relationship is with a girl called Shangguan Ning. It is not a very successful relationship, and she is married to me out of force, but she is the only one in my heart. She had to marry me despite her unwillingness.”

Otherwise I would probably have to pull you out of a wedding rather than force you into one!”
