Chapter 1 – Demonic Sword

Nanhua Village has always been peaceful since its last calamity a century ago. However, this all changed. For the last three months, natural disasters plagued the village and the surrounding hundreds of miles. Isolated from the outside, it was like a monster devoured all the life in the region.

Chu Fei floated above a large jade tripod in a lotus position with red eyes, similar to blood, his slightly pale determined face expressed savagery and his weak body generated destructive lightning. His obsidian hair with traces of blackish lightning fluttered in the breeze.

“Ah!”

The miserable scream echoed throughout the village, making the strange scenes invite more terror.

As he took in the pain, fatigue suddenly hit him. His felt as if it was drowned in heavenly thunder, but even Chu Fei whose heart was like iron couldn’t refrain from shouting.

While generating lightning, his body was constantly breaking down and rebuilding itself, strengthening his physique, this cycle repeated for three days with no pause.

“Attain my inheritance, cultivate my demonic art, devour the constellations, soar above the heavens… ”

An ancient voice rang in Chu Fei’s mind, deeply engraving itself.

This carried on for an incense stick’s worth of time (Savage: Half an hour), with this, Chu Fei’s inhuman transformation was finally complete.

At this time, as though time ended, the sky changed from blue to red, and a pitch black sword like onyx descended, seeming to pierce the middle of Chu Fei’s eyebrows.

“Ah!”

A scream reverberated through the air, the tripod suddenly shone with a black light, a radius of several hundred meters turned into a vacuum zone.

Chu Fei fell on one knee, his red eyes turned black, if one looked through those pair of eyes, one would feel as if they experienced the worst the world could offer. They flashed with streaks of lighting from time to time, one wouldn’t notice unless they examined very closely. He struggled to raise his head and saw a woman gazing at him as if she could peer into his secrets.

A female Taoist dressed in a white robe stood with her hands behind her back, calmly observing Chu Fei.

“Thank you for saving this little one.” Chu Fei endured the pain and walked toward the Taoist, the Taoist introduced herself as Yu Ding from the Myriad Sword Sect. Chu Fei worshipped these cultivators as they could break free from the shackle of death and extend their life span. In his original world, seeing or even being one was just a fantasy.

“It was a complete coincidence I ran into you while flying.” The female white clothed Taoist spoke unfazed.

“Remember, the Myriad Sword Sect disciple selection is in six months, as long as you pass, I will accept you as a disciple You should try cultivating with this technique. Once you start, you’re officially a cultivator.”

Chu Fei was full of doubts, but silently picked up the little yellow manual and suddenly spoke: “Today’s grace, I, Chu Fei, will never forget, or may the heavens smite me.”

His vow echoed through the village, but she already left.

At this point, Nanhua Village finally returned to normal, Chu Fei stood on this strange land with a serene heart.

Unknown world, strange people, everything was so strange and mysterious, life when in his original world was always hard on him. At the moment, he was even afraid to face reality.

“Where am I?“ His mind was swarmed with knowledge and common sense about this world. It was most likely Yu Ding.

After all, when he first arrived, he was saved by her.

Thinking of what happened in the past few days. He knew that this wasn’t his original world, it was a world ruled by strength.

As he pondered, he opened the manual, reading the basics. The context was somewhat easy to understand with all the annotations, but he felt that even without them, it would be a piece of cake

With a look, Chu Fei was shocked to the point he seemed like a statue, he gained a bigger understanding regarding the Origin of Sword that Yu Ding passed down to him. Fighting against his excitement, he scrutinized the content.

“Origin of Sword, becoming one with the sword to the point even when using a twig as one, it would release heaven defying might.”

Reading, Chu Fei involuntarily began to practice while kneeling.

“Devouring the Gods manual. By devouring the countless objects of the world and fusing it into oneself, one consumes the world. By devouring the spiritual energy of the nature and fusing it into one, one consumes the constellations.” A mysterious voice rang as if it wanted Chu Fei to cultivate this cultivation technique. After cultivating the Origin of Sword, he started cultivating Devouring the Gods.

In a blink of an eye, three days flew past, Chu Fei finally managed to grasp the first layer, he didn’t have the slightest feeling of hunger. Not only that, he also felt that his strength and perception increased.

It only took three days to grasp the first layer.

“How do I use the technique?”

As he thought of this, his fist hit the ground as if possessed.

Bang! Mud splattered and a deep pit, about half a meter, emerged.

Chu Fei looked at his weak-looking fist dumbfounded.

“In six months I have to go to Myriad Sword Sect.”

At this time, Chu Fei was preoccupied with thoughts of the disciple selection.

“In three days, you’ll be able to touch the mystery of laws, those children really haven’t disappointed me, haha …”

Immersed in the joy of cultivating, an ancient voice boomed in his mind.

“Who is it, Senior Ding, is it you?” Chu Fei looked around surprised, but never found Yu Ding, that strange atmosphere created from the voice frightened Chu Fei.

“Boy, even if you look everywhere you won’t find me, I reside in your body.” The strange ancient voice once again sounded, this time Chu Fei heard it clearly and the source was definitely his body.

A black sword flew out of the middle of Chu Fei’s eyebrows, as if alive, it stopped in front of Chu Fei and shook. The body of the sword was completely black.

Wisps of black mist wrapped itself on the blade, making it look demonic.

Chu Fei will never forget the sword, three days ago, it impacted him greatly.

“Kid, do you not have questions to ask this old man? But I won’t tell you, can’t tell you. Are you not very disappointed?”

The ancient voice spoke to itself, completely ignoring Chu Fei.

Although this guy kept saying he won’t tell him, with his endless nonsense, Chu Fei obtained some useful information.

At least he knew that this ancient sword spirit didn’t have a tight mouth, he also knew that the sword recognized him, obeying his every order.

Gaining a rough idea about the sword, Chu Fei smiled. He waved his right hand and the sword, like a magnet, flew into his hands.

“What are you doing? This old man wants to eat you. Wahhh, lad, little ancestor, you can’t do this to me, you can’t do this…”

Regardless of how the other party cried, Chu Fei ignored him.

His heart suddenly throbbed, it felt as if he and the sword were one.

Chu Fei moved the sword closer and examined it.

“Demonic Sword!?”

Chu Fei felt refreshed and decided to throw away his past and start anew. He only has one wish, to become a mighty cultivator who vanishes in a blink of an eye and flies in the boundless sky.
