Irvene's point of view

We're a given half an hour to plan about how we are going to protect our only flag and obtain all the flags from our enemies.

Our group has seven members. The others are 2 first level students and 1-second level student. Those students are talented ones since they managed to advanced to the sixth-day competition, although their confidence goes down a hundred times when they saw that our team only consisted of first, second and fourth levels while the other teams are mostly sixth and fifth levels.

I can't blame them though, because they didn't know of our true abilities. All they need to do is cooperate with us if they want to be the winner.

"Our group might not seem formidable to the eyes of the crowd, but the pleasantries of the people would not dictate the outcome of the battle. All you need to do is cooperate and trust your team," Vaughn said.

Unexpectedly, they nodded. It's good that they'll cooperate with us. In that way, this game will become easier for our group. There's no team who would win without being united to each other.

"I've long heard of your names throughout the school last week about your skills. Maybe it was true after all," the first level student said.

Then, we introduced ourselves to each other before we make our plan.

"Henry, you're in charge of healing Dianne, and Rose. Then, Dianne and Rose would guard the flag here. The other teams are mostly fourth levels and above, so stay in our area in any way possible. You'll be helping Sid in defending our flag. " Vaughn continued.

"I'll be the one to steal the others' flag," Meryll said.

"Keep your eyes tightly to it, then we'll deal with the students," he said.

"I'll make sure that no one would be able to steal our flag!" Sid uttered.

"Before we start, I would give these potions to you," I said.

I gave them two potions each. "The gray-colored liquid would release heavy smoke which could temporarily blind an enemy," I said.

"How would this thing release a smoke?" The three students asked in unison with their confused faces.

"Just threw it into the ground," I said.

They looked at me as though it is impossible.

"Don't ever underestimate Irvene's Alchemy skills. I can only say that she's a gifted person when it comes to that topic," Meryll said.

"She's correct!" Sid followed.

Well, it's a miracle that they're not arguing.

"Anyway, make sure to close your eyes if you can't stay at a long distance from them after throwing it onto the ground," I said.

We walked to our positions before the game started. The other groups also stood up to their own positions.

"Wait, what about the use of this red-colored potion?" Dianne said.

They all looked at me. I grinned and said, "It's a secret. When I give you the signal, throw it onto the ground."

I raised one hand and showed them a hand sign. They nodded in unison. After that, the instructor officially announced the start of the game.

We are in a circled position, waiting for the enemies to attack, while Meryll would take the chance to steal their flags when they are distracted. She could find out if it's a fake one and wherever the real one's hidden. Meryll is more than worthy to be called in a class of assassin for me.

Moreover, I didn't expect for all the groups to charge forward among us.

"An unworthy enemy. You don't belong in this game!"

"You're somehow right. It should be a battle between elites. It's an order. Don't blame us for our unfairness" they said.

Vaughn is clearly correct. The game today has something to do with the twelve most well-known families of Soul'e country.

They might haven't realized that they're uttering what shouldn't be said to an outsider. This news might spread if it's another person. What inexperienced students.

Every two members of the other group are running near our assigned area. They really planned to eliminate us first.

I started making ice spikes to slow them down on their way, while Vaughn summoned his huge bow and arrows.

A man quickly threw a flaming spear at Vaughn when he saw his weapon. When his spear has enough distance to us, I started turning it into a frozen ice spear and broke it into shattered pieces.

I can turn non-living things into ice only in a short distance. Well, it's been a long time since I used this skill. For someone like me who is restrained with half of my magic, it's useful for me instead of making one out of nothing. It uses a small amount of magic. It's practically hard since I have to quickly turn it into ice before it went to me or any of my comrades.

Then, Vaughn swiftly aimed at that man on his legs. With his archery skills, the arrows went into both of his legs, preventing him from running. Vaughn didn't hesitate to attack them. Our enemies look like they'll also attack us, so he turned their favor before even hurting us.

"Healers help!" he shouted. His comrade went to him. The arrow was incredibly sharp, and he got deep injuries, and it would take a long time healing him, thus I stopped paying him attention.

I created ice spikes around our flag, a temporary defense and another smaller ice spikes to throw at them. I breathed hard until I felt that my body suddenly got better.

"I healed you a little!" Henry said.

He's good at healing, what a reliable teammate.

When I observed that the persons who're coming for us has decreased, Vaughn and I started running to the enemies' area, while Meryll is behind us.

Before we could get near to an opponents' flag, a man appeared in front of us.

"I quite expected for the four of you to be the top winners of the fourth level students," he said.

He's no other than Ingrid Welsey.

"Since we are in a battle, you won't mind a small fight amongst us, don't you?" Ingrid said.

"I would only agree because you are in my way. We still needed the flags," Vaughn said.

Ingrid fixed his glasses and then, summoned a sharp sword emanating a powerful aura.

"I have seen you with a sword, Vaughn Estrama but you skillfully used an archer today. I wonder where you are really good at," he said.

After that, a woman appeared beside him. She wore a long-sleeved blue dress, and she's holding a scythe. What took my attention is her pair of silver eyes.

"She's been absent for a month and is only able to start attending school this week, so I'll introduce her to you," Ingrid said.

"Meet our Student Council Vice President, Elliza Montliez," he continued.

She bowed a little and positioned her scythe. Her eyes looked among us emotionless.

"You already know her, so let's begin!" he said and grinned.
