The original Naruto instantly switched into his proper nine tails mode and restrained the clone.
"What happened?" Naruto asked once again.

He didn't know what Naruto was unto in the first place since Naruto did not mention the fact that he could transfer memories to him, But the situation in front of the duo now took priority.
("The clone hasn't been dispelled so most likely Naruto's reason for anger hasn't transferred to the Original") Shikamaru thought following which he looked at Naruto.
"Naruto, under any condition, do not dispel your clone,"

"Just hold it at bay," Shikamaru said.
Naruto didn't understand, but he knew that he could only rely on Shikamaru's brains.

"Naruto, is there any way you can find out what your clone wanted to do in the first place?" Shikamaru asked.
